"Girlfriend."
"Yes, be my girlfriend. Since we did not pass that stage, we just jumped right in and became wives. So tonight we are dating. You are not the princess and I am not a Fayrouza. We are just two girls who have known each other for a month," Straw said.
"That's… not going to happen. You are my wife, so be my wife," Berryanna insisted.
"Just be my girlfriend for tonight," Straw insisted.
Diane stood there, eyes moving between the two of them. Berryanna's jaw was tight, arms folded across her chest, her stance firm and unyielding. Straw, on the other hand, looked almost amused, hands on her hips, leaning forward slightly as if daring Berryanna to refuse her.
They went back and forth like that, Berryanna insisting that she wanted to be called wife and Straw insisting that she wanted to be called girlfriend. Neither of them looked willing to give in, and the air between them grew thicker with every second.
Diane cleared her throat.
