Chapter 91 - Belief That Burns, Light That Shines

"As expected…

Ancient Zoans don't possess supernatural powers like Mythical Zoans.

That 'flame' of yours is nothing more than your will made manifest."

Longinus calmly analyzed, ignoring the painful stabs flooding his right arm.

Compared to Garp's "love,"

this little bit of pain was nothing.

"Impossible…

You weren't this strong before!"

Jin staggered out of the rubble, having reverted to human form.

His injuries weren't serious—

but his mask had shattered, exposing a swollen, bruised right eye.

"Who knows?"

Longinus smiled warmly.

"Maybe I just powered up today."

"Hmph! Do you take me for an idiot?

A sudden surge in strength is only possible with a Devil Fruit!"

Jin's voice grew grave.

"There's only one explanation.

You realized I was spying on you…

and deliberately hid your true strength.

Such a gloomy, scheming attitude…

It doesn't fit your 'radiant hero' persona, does it?"

"No—

it's your understanding of justice that's shallow."

Longinus spread his arms, face serene, holy.

"I walk the path of justice every moment.

So no matter what I do—

it is justice.

It is light.

Did you not feel it in that last punch?"

"Unshakable belief in your own justice…

even if the path you walk is wrong."

Jin scoffed.

"What a terrifying justice."

"If you think my path is wrong," Longinus replied gently,

"that only means your existence is what's wrong.

Allow me to enlighten you with the light of justice."

Suddenly, Garp's "just punch the ideology into them" philosophy felt strangely appealing.

If you don't agree with my ideals—

I'll beat you until you do.

"Empty rhetoric."

Jin's expression darkened.

He placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

"I won't make the same mistake again.

This time, I'll go all out—

and send you straight to hell!"

"Swordsmanship?"

Longinus raised an eyebrow.

"A Zoan user specializing in swordplay over martial arts?

Interesting."

But in his heart, he grew far more cautious.

For a man like Jin to forgo his superior physical advantage—

his swordsmanship must be extraordinary.

"Blazing Guillotine!"

Jin didn't make Longinus wait.

With only a brief charge, the blade flashed—

and a roaring arc of flame-laced sword aura tore through the air.

It wasn't just a slash.

It was a chained explosion of heat, killing intent, and iaido-like acceleration.

In the blink of an eye—

it was already at Longinus's chest.

"Tekkai — Steel!"

Even Longinus couldn't dodge such speed.

His blood surged violently, muscles hardening like iron.

The sword aura struck with a deafening crash.

Longinus was blasted away, chest burning as if scorched from within.

But he forced his churning blood down and kicked into Geppo—

reversing direction midair.

Jin's face hardened.

He spun and slashed instinctively behind him.

But he was still half a beat too slow.

A monstrous fist hammered into his abdomen—

exploding with raw power.

He vomited blood on impact.

Yet Jin didn't retreat.

With a snarl, his head morphed into a pteranodon's.

The sharp beak lunged at Longinus like a spear.

But Longinus, mastery of Observation Haki unleashed to its limit, was already prepared.

His long hair—animated by Life Return—snaked out like venomous serpents, wrapping tightly around the beak.

"Shigan — Stripe!"

Taking advantage of the restraint, Longinus unleashed a storm of finger bullets—

every strike piercing toward Jin's heart.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The blows rang out like metal on metal.

"Armament Haki…"

Longinus murmured.

"And fairly advanced."

"Correct.

But no prize for you," Jin replied coldly as he shredded the binding hair in an instant.

"Your Observation Haki surpasses mine by far…

but you're too young.

You can't use Armament Haki.

That is your fatal weakness!"

Longinus shook his head.

"Armament is powerful, yes…

but it won't decide the outcome between us."

He was telling the truth.

He hadn't awakened Armament yet,

but he trained daily with Zephyr—

the "Black Arm," master of Armament Haki.

In understanding alone,

he surpassed Jin.

Jin snorted.

"For someone like you, Armament may not be the finishing blow…

but what about stamina?"

He smirked.

"You've killed so many pirates.

You must be near your limit.

But me—

I'm a Zoan user.

My stamina is practically endless."

Longinus's expression turned strange.

Why did everyone like to question his stamina?

Did he look that… short-lasting?

"Then try me."

Longinus vanished in an instant.

"Fist of Justice!"

He reappeared at Jin's chest, fist shining like a sun.

"Blazing Tempest!"

Jin brought his blade down.

Armament darkened the edge,

and orange flames surged along it.

Fist and blade collided.

The floor shattered beneath them.

The shockwaves tore downward—

—smashing straight into Frozen Hell.

Blizzards roared upward from the open breach.

Around them, metal gates tore like paper.

Corpses were hurled away like ragdolls.

"Th-That…

That's the Chief Jailer—no, the traitor Jin—

fighting Warden Longinus?!"

A guard at the outer gate trembled.

"Is… is this the destruction humans can cause?!"

"Wait! Some of the bodies thrown outside were faking dead—after them!"

The battle inside didn't last long.

Jin, overwhelmed, was smashed into the firesea with a single colossal punch.

"The traitor…

Warden Longinus actually killed him…?"

Guards stared in disbelief.

They knew Jin's power well.

A man whose flames could burn entire floors.

A terror even jailers feared.

Yet now—

he was punched into the fire like trash.

Bubbling—! Bubbling—!

The flames roared.

Suddenly—

an enormous pteranodon burst forth from the inferno.

"This is impossible!

You're even stronger than before!

You're—hiding strength even now?!"

Jin trembled with rage and fear.

Longinus sighed inwardly.

I already told you it was a sudden power-up. Why don't you believe me?

Every second he fought Jin,

the soul power absorbed earlier settled into his body—

enhancing his control, precision, and potential.

If before he used 80% of his body's strength,

now he was tapping into 90%.

So he smiled sincerely.

"Of course—

because in this battle…

my faith in justice has grown even stronger."

"Ha…?"

Jin hung in the air, pteranodon eyes full of confusion and existential crisis.

Is belief really this strong?!

Does being a stubborn fanatic make you… stronger?
