Lin Yuer survived the rest of his classes through sheer willpower and strategic avoidance of eye contact.
He was packing his bag when Wei Feng leaned over. "So... what are you doing after school?"
"Going home. Homework. The usual."
"Right. Totally normal day for the guy who has a billionaire, a general, and apparently an underground crime lord all interested in him."
Lin Yuer shot him a look. "Don't start."
"I'm just saying—" Wei Feng lowered his voice. "—if you need help with anything, I'm here. Even if you can't tell me everything."
Lin Yuer felt a pang of guilt. Wei Feng was a good friend. Better than he deserved.
"I know. Thank you."
His phone buzzed.
Xie Yunlan: [My driver is outside. We need to talk. Please don't make me come in there.]
Lin Yuer sighed. "I have to go."
"The billionaire summons?"
"Something like that."
