Lin Yuer stood outside his school, phone in hand, looking every bit the forgetful student who'd left something important behind.
The building was dark except for security lights. Empty. Silent.
Perfect hunting ground.
His earpiece crackled softly.
"In position," Kai Zhen's voice, barely a whisper.
"Visual confirmed," Shen Rui from another location. "Two possible contacts approaching from the south. Might be civilians."
"Negative," Adrian's voice. "Those are Organization. I recognize the walking pattern. Military training."
Lin Yuer pretended to check his phone, using the reflection in the screen to scan his surroundings.
Two men, casual clothes, but moving with too much purpose. Flanking positions.
Not subtle enough.
"I see them," Lin Yuer murmured, voice too low for anyone without an earpiece to hear.
"Stay calm," Xie Yunlan's voice, tense. "Stick to the plan."
