[10 years later]
He was racing through the streets with crates in his hands. He was running some errands to get some extra money. He and his mother weren't doing very well financially, so he had to work extra to make ends meet. After a little while, he got to the pub where he had to deliver those crates.
"There ya are, boy, you took some time," scolded a brown bearded, middle-aged man, who was standing behind Archer, arms crossed and a cold frown on his wrinkled face.
Startled, Archer turns around, almost dropping the boxes. "Ah! Uh! Sorry, boss! I-I'll do my best to be on time next time!" He said nervously with a nervous smile on his face.
This was the fifth time this month he had been late delivering the goods. Boss Orson was pissed at him, and Archer knew that all too well.
"Who says there's going to be a next time?" he said as he walked off towards the back of the pub with an irritated face.
Archer's heart dropped; he could not lose this job. Without it, he would never have had enough money to sustain himself and his mom. After that realization, he ran after boss Orson.
"Please, boss, I need this job! I promise I will be on time next time! Just let me keep this job!" he pleaded, stumbling behind Boss Orson, his large frame hiding him.
He sighed and turned to Archer. "Well, I can give ya one last chance.." He mumbled, defeated.
The sight of Archer pleading made him change his mind out of sympathy, he knew how bad things could get in this day and age. Archer's face lit up.
"Thank you so much!" He exclaimed with a huge smile, his eyes shining with happiness. "I can't thank you enough! I owe you one!" he beamed with an excited tone.
He rushed out of the tavern, and boss Orson sighed as he realized what he had just done. Archer strolled around in Solaria. Solaria was a very lively city, and lots of things happened in this sunny city.
Today was the day of the holy sun. Where people make offerings to the sun goddess Sol and dance traditional dances on the main square of Solaria in colorful garments. Archer always loved this day. When he was little, he would always go hunt bugs to offer them to the sun goddess. He would never get a blessing for it, of course, but it's the intention that counts, as his mom would say.
Merchants often came here for business at events, so today there were lots of them on the main square. Archer admired all the ornaments and items on display while strolling past the stalls. Sunlight in jars, vine-ropes, elemental crystals, and various other intricate items shone in the blazing sun. Archer contemplated it all, not paying attention to what was in front of him, when he bumped into somebody.
"Ah! I'm so sorry- I didn't see you there-!" he apologized as he looked up with a worried gaze.
He bumped into a tall, intimidating boy with huge muscles. As soon as Archer noticed the huge muscle, his heart skipped a beat. Oh no..I'm going to get beat up.. he thought as his eyebrows slowly curled up. The boy turned to Archer and smiled warmly.
"Hello there! Don't worry about that, I know how mesmerizing all that stuff is." He said with a warm tone.
Archer was taken aback by the friendly nature of the boy. He quickly regained his posture and replied, "Yeah! It's really cool! Especially the sunlight in jars. I wonder how people even get to something like that..." he said while his gaze was fixed on the jars, wondering.
"Well-" but right as the boy was about to talk, music suddenly started to sound from the main square. "Oh, that should be the music band!" realized the boy. A crowd of people started to form around the stage in the main square.
"I cannot miss that!" exclaimed Archer as his eyes started to twinkle. He rushed towards the stage. There they were the music band renowned for their mesmerizing melodies. The main chanter of the band was glowing.
She had short neon blue hair with purple eyes. She looked like a gemstone that had just been carved. The crowd started to cheer as she started to sing the sacred canticle for this special day.
Archer swayed with the music as the chanting cleared the sky and made the sun shine brighter than ever. The chanter was the famous Sonatina blue. She had the Dorea of the voice. Archer knew that all too well. He was a huge fan of hers.
Just as Sonatina was about to hit the chorus a second time. A screeching sound sounded from the horizon when huge terasoruses came out of the shadow. Everyone started to scream and flee.
Archer looked around in horror as he saw everyone running. The huge creatures started to break through the stage and attack the people. Archer didn't know what to do. He wanted to help people. He wanted to save the day by defeating those monsters, but he didn't even have his Dorea yet... it was far past his birthday and still nothing…
He looked around helplessly when suddenly the three creatures spotted him. As soon as they noticed him, they got agitated, as if they found what they were looking for. As if they finally found food after starving for so long. Archer panicked as soon as he saw their agitated gazes, lunging at him.
He thought this was it. That this was going to be the end of his story. "NO!" He yelled in distress while shielding his face. When he accidentally summoned a red energy storm. It destroyed everything in its path, made things levitate at high speed, and disintegrated the creatures. Even before he could realize what had happened, he felt agonizing aching pain in his head, and he fainted on the spot.
