"Huh? What are they doing?"
The god following behind Locke was a little confused by the actions of Locke and Little White.
"Did I get discovered? Are they trying to lure me out?"
The one tailing Locke was a Demigod.
Because a Demigod's divine sense could not spread very far, he could only track Locke and Little White using the corner of his vision.
Taking into account the detection range of a God's divine sense, he had originally planned to wait until Locke had gone far enough before following more closely.
Yet suddenly, the Demigod shuddered violently—as if struck by an unseen warning. His expression changed, teeth clenched, and he plunged into the forest, chasing after the traces Locke had left behind.
What put him slightly at ease was that Little White had not concealed their trail.
In order to conserve divine power, Little White relied purely on physical strength to run. The marks left behind in the forest made it easy to determine the direction they had taken.
…
"They followed after all?"
Without even spreading his divine sense, Locke could clearly feel the malice, resentment, and fear leaking from the soul of the bandit behind them.
Obviously, this fellow was nothing more than a disposable pawn.
Locke folded his arms and did not warn Little White that someone was treating them as prey.
With Locke's current strength, unless the Rockpeak City Lord personally took action, no one in Rockpeak City could pose a threat to him.
The four Law Profundities that were only a hair's breadth away from complete fusion were the source of Locke's confidence.
Half a month later, Locke and Little White had completely left the territory controlled by Rockpeak City.
"Whoosh—"
At that moment, a metal lifeform streaked across the sky above them. After circling once, it finally locked onto Locke's position and hovered overhead.
"Hm?"
Only now did Little White realize something was wrong.
He halted abruptly, ears standing straight up, crimson eyes spinning within their sockets.
After so many years… had someone finally decided to make a move against Lord Locke again?
Locke raised his head and looked at the metal lifeform above.
Unlike the metal lifeforms of the Violet jade Legion that transformed into golden dragons, this one had taken the form of a red flying divine beast.
It seemed that the beings of Hell rather liked shaping their metal lifeforms after divine beasts.
Soon, the belly of the metal lifeform opened, and six Gods flew out, surrounding Locke and Little White from all sides.
"Hah. You're in league with the guy following behind me, aren't you?"
"I thought you'd at least trail me for three to five years before making a move. Didn't expect you to get so impatient the moment I left Rockpeak City's sphere of influence."
"Oh? You knew?"
Hearing Locke's words, the six Gods were taken aback. One of them frowned and asked, puzzled:
"If you knew you were being followed, why didn't you hurry up and run?"
"Why would I run?"
Locke chuckled softly.
"Perhaps in your eyes, you're here to ambush me."
"But have you ever considered that this might just as well be me ambushing you?"
"What?"
"Hahahaha—don't make me laugh!"
The six Gods burst into laughter.
The one who had spoken earlier clutched his forehead, laughing so hard he was nearly out of breath.
"Be sensible and hand over all your spatial rings, after complying we might actually spare your life or maybe we'll give you a quick death."
"Otherwise, we brothers haven't had any fun in years. Who knows how we'll 'entertain' you—begging for life but unable to die."
"Counter-ambush us?"
"You think you're a Highgod or something?"
"Ah…"
Seeing their performance, Little White sighed and shook his head.
These people truly had no idea what kind of existence they had provoked.
They had already guessed—and yet still refused to believe it.
"I may not be a Highgod," Locke said calmly,
"but I think that in this era, quite a few Highgods probably aren't my match."
His light words cut through their laughter like a gale from the heavens, drilling straight into their ears.
Just as the Gods were feeling confused, they saw Locke slowly raise his right hand and press it forward.
In an instant, the danger instincts forged through hundreds of thousands of years of life-and-death battles exploded within the six Gods, making every hair on their bodies stand on end.
"Danger!"
"Danger!"
"Danger!"
Yet they had no idea where this fatal threat was coming from.
"You?!"
"What did you do?!"
In sheer terror, one of the Gods roared, divine power erupting as he swung his longsword, sending a sharp sword qi slashing toward Locke.
"Good reaction," Locke nodded slightly in approval,
"but it's already too late."
Divine power guided the Law Profundities, converging in his palm!
"Thousand-Miles—Heaven-Reaching Palm!"
Unlike the hundred-meter giant hand from over a decade ago,
this time, Locke's Heaven-Reaching Palm caused no heavenly phenomena at all.
As calmly as drifting clouds, a palm formed entirely from water elements suddenly appeared before the God's chest—and slammed down.
BOOM—
Crack, crack…
A terrifying force erupted from the water-formed palm, instantly shattering the God's God-level defensive artifact into fragments.
"Pff—!"
Blood sprayed from his mouth as despair and regret flooded the God's eyes.
With no artifact left to shield him, the raging power rampaged through his body.
Unable to withstand Locke's strength, his divine body exploded outright.
Bang—
A divine spark fell from the cloud of blood.
There was no suspense.
Even after destroying a God artifact and consuming much of its power, the remaining force was still more than enough to kill him.
"H-How is this possible?!"
The scene left the remaining five Gods completely stunned.
The one who had just died wasn't the strongest among them, but they were all peers—the gap in strength was nowhere near this large.
Yet someone they had regarded as prey… had killed him with a single palm.
Highgod!
This prey was definitely a Highgod!
Only a Highgod could possibly one-shot a God.
No god who survived in Hell was simple.
The six Gods immediately realized—
this time, they had almost certainly kicked an iron plate.
