~Xavier's POV~
The disciplinary room smelled faintly of newly polished wood and soap, and my mind supplied the rest—restraint, rules, and the thin line between authority and chaos.
Troy sat across the table with his arms crossed, posture lazy, and arrogance dripping from every careless movement. He did not look the least bit remorseful. He looked rather… bored.
Without doing any deep investigation on him, I could see his whole life painted on his face—arrogant, spoiled, a sperm mistake of a haughty, rich man whose assets were going down the drain.
That alone tightened something ugly in my chest.
Professor Halden cleared his throat. "This hearing concerns repeated misconduct, harassment of fellow students, and yesterday's incident involving verbal provocation and disruption of school activities in class."
Troy scoffed. "That's exaggerated."
I flexed my jaw and said nothing, though my fingers curled slowly against my thigh beneath the table.
