Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – Isn’t the Sister-in-Law Worthy of Being Spoiled?

The entrance to Prairie Steakhouse.

Madison smiled and said, "Brother-in-law, I want to eat steak."

Charlie hurried over to Kate, who was holding the little raccoon plush, and asked, "What about you? Do you want to eat steak?"

After thinking for a moment, Kate agreed.

Then, the two of them led the way and entered the restaurant.

Behind them, Madison puffed out her cheeks and stomped her foot.

What did this mean?

She had already said she wanted to eat steak.

He still had to ask her sister's opinion?

If her sister said no, then they wouldn't go for steak?

Wasn't the sister-in-law worthy of being spoiled?

She concocted all sorts of malicious thoughts about her eccentric brother-in-law.

Inside the steakhouse.

After ordering their food, Charlie went to the front desk alone.

He asked the cashier, "Hello! What is your daily turnover?"

Prairie Steakhouse was a high-end chain in White City.

The staff there were very well-trained.

There was no such thing as looking down on people.

Seeing Charlie ask this, the girl at the front desk thought he might be a potential investor, and she answered, "Sir, the turnover of this steak restaurant, in one day, is about five hundred thousand."

"Only half a million, huh?" Charlie murmured with apparent disappointment.

The girl at the reception desk was stunned.

She wondered if she had heard wrong.

Only… half a million?

He considered a turnover of five hundred thousand to be a low amount?

Half a million a day meant fifteen million generated each month. In a year, over a hundred million was made.

If this was still considered low, did every brick-and-mortar store with annual turnover in the tens of millions even survive?

The girl at the front desk began to suspect Charlie was there to cause trouble.

However, she still wanted to appear polite. So, she said, "Sir, may I ask what you want?"

Charlie said, "Forget it. Five hundred thousand is five hundred thousand. I'll pay you five million. Consider this as coverage for all promotional expenses. So, for one day, all customers who come to the store can eat for free."

"Uh… what?" The receptionist's body seemed stunned.

"Sir, are you… sure you're not joking around here?"

"I'm not joking, no. Give me your account details and I'll pay you the money right away."

The girl's body couldn't stop trembling.

"I'm sorry, sir, but this isn't something I can decide. I have to ask the manager."

"Then tell him quickly."

The receptionist immediately picked up the phone and gave him a ring. She stammered when she said, "Manager McCrae, a man just told me he wants to give us five million and rent Prairie Steakhouse for a day, letting all customers who come eat for free."

"Come again?"

On the other end of the phone, you could hear a man's exclamation.

"Is this true?"

"Well, the man is standing right in front of me," said the receptionist girl, stealing a glance at Charlie.

Just looking at his profile was enough to make her heart race.

Not until now did she give him a proper look.

The customer was truly too handsome...

"Alright, I'll be right down."

Augustus McCrae had never experienced something like this.

He happened to be upstairs when he received the call, but he rushed down heavily in less than a minute.

Seeing Charlie, he respectfully said, "Cowpoke, did you just say you wanted to open your entire wallet at this steak restaurant?"

"Yes, I'm the one. Give me your account details. I'll pay you the money now."

"Sir, are you sure you don't want to think twice about this transaction here?"

Charlie frowned, slightly displeased.

Why was it so hard to spend one's money?

He said, "Why do you ask? Is five million not enough? Then I'll add to it."

"Yeehaw, no! No. Five million is definitely enough. I just thought you might be a little too impulsive. After all, a large sum of money can be used to recharge your membership card, which can give you many discounts and privileges. That would be more cost-effective, wouldn't it?"

Oh, a membership card.

After the reminder from Augustus McCrae, Charlie just remembered.

"You have a good idea. The initial plan will remain unchanged, but I'll charge my membership card with another five million."

Augustus stumbled. He couldn't stand up straight.

Augustus had worked for over a decade, but he had never seen such a capricious customer before.

His mouth had opened and closed, leaving the tune of ten million dollars ringing in his ears.

Of course, he didn't know if the customer was being honest or not. There was a possibility the man was just fooling around and making a video about it or something.

To test the truthfulness of this strange customer, Augustus gave him the account details.

A moment later.

The account displayed a receipt for ten million dollars.

"Gasp!"

Augustus sucked in a large gulp of air.

He enthusiastically said to Charlie, "May I be so bold as to ask the name of this fine gentleman?"

"Charlie Pace."

"Great… I will handle everything on your behalf. Mr. Pace, please return to your seat and wait a moment. We will personally deliver the membership card to you shortly."

Charlie turned and left the front desk.

The receptionist girl was still in shock. She was covering her mouth, wondering what the origins of the handsome man were. She wondered how he could spend so much money without showing the slightest flicker of pain.

He had just parted with ten million.

Five million of that amount was for free dinner for all customers.

If she had a boyfriend like that, she couldn't imagine how wonderful life would be.

...

[Ding! Host's consumption detected. Triggering one-hundred-times consumption rebate reward.]

A robotic beep came from his mind.

Because of the ten million consumption, it had triggered a hundred-fold rebate.

That was one billion dollars.

Charlie looked at his bank card again, and he confirmed it had just been credited with one billion dollars.

The current balance was one billion, one hundred and eighty-nine million dollars.

In just one day, Charlie had earned over a billion.

There was only one word for it.

Nice!

Charlie returned to his table.

Not long after, the waiter came with the steaks, with Augustus McCrae following not far behind.

The waiter finished serving the steak.

Augustus stepped forward and extended a black card with a tiger design on it. Holding it with both hands, he faced Charlie with a slight bow.

"Mr. Pace, your supreme membership card is ready. Please accept it."

In the restaurant, those who noticed this scene all paused for a moment.

Supreme membership card?

There was a membership system at Prairie Steakhouse. There were silver cards, gold cards, diamond cards, and the supreme card.

You started a silver card with a minimum charge of five thousand dollars.

The gold card required a minimum charge of fifty thousand dollars.

The diamond card required a minimum charge of five hundred thousand dollars.

As for the supreme card, no one had ever heard of anyone charging something like that.

It was rumored that the supreme card started with top-ups in the millions.

If this man had just applied for a supreme card, did that mean he had just spent several million to charge his membership?

Oh, God!

That was too rich.

A membership card for a steak restaurant could cost several million dollars?

The exact figure wasn't known, but it was hard to imagine anyone else in the place having a combined net worth of over a million.

Charlie accepted the black card, then he handed it to Kate.

"This is for you. If you want to eat here in the future, just swipe the card directly."

Kate was eating her steak. The way she bit her food was cute, like a squirrel.

She hadn't even reacted yet.

At this time, Augustus, the manager, turned to clear his throat and spoke to the crowd.

"Attention, all visitors here; all your meals tonight have been paid for by Mr. Pace. So, eat and drink to your heart's content."
