Chapter 2 - Prologue:

Smoke rose from the rapidly spreading fire on the ground as a small group of people looked gravely at the incoming zombie that was running speedily towards them.

Standing at the side, Sarina solemnly glanced at the couple; Steve and Lauren, standing calmly in between; the only reason she had come to this world. Concern filled her eyes as she looked back at the zombie that was rushing towards them.

It was not an ordinary zombie; it was the only great rank 10 zombie king in this world. Defeating it today meant that not only would this apocalypse end but her mission would also be considered finished.

Having worked so hard in the last 99 transmigration missions in different worlds assigned to her, all successfully, without any failure, Sarina definitely wanted to complete her last mission as soon as possible.

Because completing it didn't mean just completing another task; instead, it was the key to finally returning to her own world once again. The place she had been dreaming of going back to and finally taking her revenge on people that brutally killed her.

Rage filled her eyes, turning red in fury as she recalled the faces of each and every single person whom she had once considered her family and how she had left everyone who loved her dearly just for them.

This exact desire to return and take her revenge was the only thing that kept her motivated as she transmigrated from one world to another, completing various tasks before moving to another.

And now, here she was, in her last fight in the apocalyptic world with a mission to stop this apocalypse and bring peace to this world, while letting the star-crossed lovers, Steve and Lauren finally get the happy ending they deserve.

Taking a deep breath to calm her fast pounding heart, Sarina's hold tightened around the knife she was holding in her hands, her face and body stiff as she prepared herself for the upcoming battle.

"Don't be scared just because the opponent is stronger than us. Don't forget that he is alone. We can definitely defeat him and finally end all of this at last. To regain our once peaceful world again, are you all ready to fight?"

Standing in the centre with his friends and the love of his life, Steve firmly asked; his words inspiring each and every single person standing there, reminding them the reward that was waiting for them on the other side.

"YESSS!!!!" All of them shouted together; their bodies trembling as they felt their minds clear, stimulating the desires and dreams they had once forgotten upon hearing Steve's words.

Even Steve himself was affected by their enthusiasm and energy as he glanced at the woman beside him with nothing but love and adoration in his eyes. Steve had no idea what he would have become if not for Lauren's presence in last 10 years of his life.

Now that he finally had the chance to end this farce and finally spend the rest of his life peacefully with Lauren, Steve wanted to win this battle no matter what. Tightly holding the gun in his hands, he looked at the great rank 10 zombie king running towards them and shouted,

"Attackkkkkk....."

And thus the chaos began as the ground turned into the ferocious battlefield. Bravely advancing forward, Steven skillfully dodged the incoming attack from the zombie king and shot the gun with absolute precision.

From behind, Lauren also launched the arrows directly at the back of the zombie king's head, attacking its weakest spot to go for a direct kill.

Not standing idle, Sarina and the other members of the team also pounced forward with great accuracy and a perfect coordination between them, exhibiting the tacit understanding they had built over the years.

Unfortunately, they had underestimated their opponent this time. No matter how hard they ambushed the zombie king, it seemed to have to no effect on it.

"Nothing is working Steven. What should we do?" A member of the team anxiously asked as he glanced on the grim face of their leader and friend.

Steven himself was getting more and more restless with each passing second. This was without a doubt the toughest and longest fight they had been fighting but there wasn't even a little chance of winning.

Looking around at his team members and friends getting more and more tired as the fight went on, Steven really didn't know what to do or say at that moment. This fight was really taking a toll on their bodies and minds.

'No, we can't give up; not now at least. Finally after fighting for our lives for so long, we have the chance to end all of this once and for all. We have to fight and win, not just for ourselves but also this world.' Steven resolutely thought as he once again stepped forward in the ongoing battle.

Breathing heavily by the side, Sarina watched as the once clean ground was slowly flowing with the blood of her friends and team members; her entire body covered in wounds as she tried to balance herself. The extreme agonizing pain continuously reminding her of her limited time in this world.

'No matter what, I won't give up. I have to end this as soon as possible before this body really gives up.' Sarina thought when suddenly a loud scream caught hers and everyone's attention.

Laying there in the centre was Lauren, badly injured as the zombie king viciously rushed towards her. All colors drained off everyone's face; especially Steven and Sarina.

"Lauren!!!!...."

Ignoring all the pain, Sarina speedily ran forward and leaped in between without a second thought, her knife steadily blocking the zombie's hand, successfully pushing it back.

Not giving it any chance to escape, Sarina completely disregarded its incoming hand towards her and fiercely lunged forward without a second thought, her knife effectively sliced through its head while its hand tore through her stomach; both falling on the ground lifelessly.

"SARINA....." was the last shout Sarina heard before her eyes closed in that world forever.

...

"Open your eyes child." A deep voice rang out from nowhere.

Already very familiar with the voice and process, Sarina calmly opened her eyes. A familiar sight of bright white surroundings greeted her eyes with only a plain hologram floating in front.

"Congratulations on completing your 100th transmigration task successfully and earning enough merit points to return back to your world. Let me remind you beforehand that you won't remember anything about these 100 transmigrations you went through. Do you accept?"

The deep voice rang out once again as it calmly reminded her of all the terms before she was allowed to go back.

"I understand. As long as I am allowed to go back and take my revenge, I am willing to accept anything." Sarina seriously said; her fist clenched tightly six faces she would never forget kept reappearing in her mind.

"Very well then. You can go back now. Based on all the kindness points you have gathered in your past life, you shall be granted with a special gift from me. I hope you will live your second life without any regrets. Goodbye my child. Till we meet again." The voice sincerely said.

"Hey, what do you me..." Confused and curious, Sarina tried to ask when suddenly a powerful force pulled her from behind, not giving her the chance to complete her sentence.

"I hope you like my surprise, my child." The booming voice said out aloud before vanishing into thin air as if it never existed.
