Chapter 63 - Meadow Holdings On Top List

Cold weather, Severine found, could make her easily drowsy. She was awfully prone to sleeplessness.

The nights she spent awake had lessened to a large degree, yet the aftereffect wasn't always pleasant.

Trembling under the thick sheets and waking up drenched in sweat, her lungs failing to take a proper drag of oxygen, she found herself heaving first thing in the morning.

Had it always been the case? Or was this recent?

Too many things had changed lately. Even the simplest details now felt unfamiliar.

Huff... huff. In. Out.

Slowly, her breathing returned to a normal rhythm.

The chill seeped into her bones as if it intended to settle inside her ribcage for good, freezing her beneath the double layer of duvets.

Her eyelashes fluttered as she exhaled deeply, her face relaxing into the softness of the pillow.

The feeling of being boneless remained, forcing her to remain curled there.

"I should go see Dr. when I have time."
