Early in the morning, when the sky had yet to brighten, Severine woke to the sound of her alarm.
Her body was light, lighter than it had been for days.
She lingered in bed for a moment before stepping into the bathroom. When she returned, she was dressed in blue jeans and a soft sweater.
Then she made a cup of coffee for herself while going through the pending e-mails.

The door of the guest room opened, allowing Samuel to take a glance at his boss.
Despite signing three documents before going to sleep, her face showed none of the tiredness it should have.
On the contrary, Samuel looked as if his soul had been sucked out.
He ran his hand through his tangled brown curls, turning them messier with his actions. A yawn brought tears to his vacant eyes.
"Good morning, Sam. We should be on our way in five minutes."
It took him a minute to collect himself before he rushed to help with the already packed luggage.
