The World and its System

The World of Hirayi: A Primer

In the world of Hirayi, a person is only as powerful as the spirit that walks beside them. This bond is known as the Gabay Connection. A Gabay is more than a pet; it is a manifestation of spiritual energy that grants its human partner (the Trainer) elemental abilities, enhanced physical traits, and a lifelong companion.

The Awakening

Every child in Hirayi is born with a dormant "Spirit Core." At the age of fifteen, this core is tuned to the Bátis, the Great Well. The Bátis acts as a cosmic bridge, pulling a spirit beast from the ethereal plane and tethering it to the teenager's soul. This process is final, once a Gabay is chosen, the pair is bonded until death.

The Hierarchy of Gabays (Tiers)

The strength of a citizen's future is determined by the Tier of the Gabay that emerges from the well.

1. The Common Tier (85% Probability)

The vast majority of the population belongs here. These are the hearts of the villages, the dogs, cats, rabbits, and small birds. They provide comfort and basic help, ensuring that the world of Hirayi remains functional and kind.

2. The Elite Tier (10% Probability)

One in every ten children will receive an Elite Gabay. These are the wolves, stags, and great eagles. Receiving one of these is a ticket to a better life, usually involving service in the kingdom's military or protection guilds.

3. The Epic Tier (4% Probability)

A rare and powerful occurrence. These are the massive serpents, elemental tigers, and creatures of legend. To receive an Epic Gabay is to be granted nobility; these trainers are the commanders and high-ranking officers of the Seven Kingdoms.

4. The Special Tier (0.99% Probability)

Less than one percent of the population will ever see a Special Gabay emerge for them. These creatures, like the Multi-Tailed Foxes or Spirit Lynxes, possess unique magic. They are the pride of their families and are immediately recruited into the Royal Guards.

5. The Mythical Tier (0.001% Probability)

The rarest event in existence. These are the gods of the spirit world, beings like the Dragon or the Winged Unicorn. Only the seven current rulers possessed them. In the history of Hirayi, 72 are the only recorded ones to have awakened mythical Gabay.
