Chapter 35: Zoan Type, Cat-Cat Fruit, Mythical Zoan Type, Phantom Cat Form
"Vilin, brother! It looks like you've already begun to grasp the basics of our giant race's martial arts!"
Hearing the praise from both giants, Vilin scratched his head in slight embarrassment.
Then he focused once more.
"Elbaf Spear – Hagukoku!"
With Vilin's second full-power strike,
a majestic, overwhelming aura gradually gathered around the long sword in his hand.
A destructive energy shockwave was swiftly unleashed.
The sea was parted once again.
After delivering two consecutive full-force attacks,
even with Vilin's current above-average physique in the pirate world, he couldn't help but breathe heavily, bending forward.
"Huff… huff…"
"Finally… I've mastered both of these powerful techniques!"
Vilin looked at the wooden sword in his hand, now reduced to powder, and shook his head helplessly.
It seemed he really needed a proper weapon.
He remembered there was a black Good Grade sword somewhere on his ship.
That should be sufficient for now.
Vilin clenched his fist, feeling the surging power throughout his body.
A smug smile crept across his face.
Now, if he faced Garp again, he definitely wouldn't be blown away by a single punch like before.
After bidding farewell to the two giants, Vilin headed back toward his camp.
Upon returning to camp,
he saw a group of beautiful women diligently training.
After three months of observation,
Vilin had identified several crew members with exceptional combat talent.
First was Caitlin.
Through his observations, Caitlin not only possessed pinpoint shooting accuracy, but she was also highly talented in close-quarters combat.
However, Caitlin refused to eat a Devil Fruit.
As she put it:
"I don't want to become a hammer (someone who can't swim)."
Next was his helmswoman Aelria.
Her combat talent was also quite impressive.
But she currently had no interest in eating a Devil Fruit.
In the end, after careful selection,
Vilin chose three crew members with the greatest potential.
Looking at the twenty-plus gathered crew members,
Vilin placed three Devil Fruits on the table.
His gaze went directly to Haidi (long black shoulder-length hair), Hu Yue (silver hair), and lookout Annie.
Seeing Vilin's eyes on them, all three showed delighted expressions.
They stepped forward excitedly.
Annie immediately grabbed the Zoan-type Bird-Bird Fruit, White Eagle Model.
She chose this fruit because she had always wanted to fly into the sky and see the beautiful view from above.
So she took the White Eagle fruit without any hesitation.
Seeing the White Eagle fruit taken, Haidi looked at the remaining two—one purple, one white.
In the end, she chose the purple Devil Fruit.
After quickly swallowing the disgusting fruit,
her body began to change.
Bursts of purple ghostly light erupted from her voluptuous figure.
Her body rapidly transformed into a sleek, all-purple cat with golden eyes.
The cat's form was extremely elegant.
Purple flames flickered around the slender claws of all four limbs.
Vilin nearly dropped his jaw in shock.
As Haidi gradually mastered the power,
she returned to human form.
However, a pair of fluffy purple cat ears now sat atop her head.
Vilin's eyes lit up instantly. He couldn't resist reaching out to stroke the ears.
Seeing the delicate blush spread across Haidi's refined face,
Vilin awkwardly withdrew his hand.
After careful thought about the fruit,
Vilin felt it likely wasn't an Ancient Zoan.
He suspected it was a Mythical Zoan.
"Let's call this one from now on: Cat-Cat Fruit, Mythical Zoan Model – Netherworld Cat Form!"
Noticing Haidi secretly glancing at him,
Vilin touched his nose and said.
Hu Yue saw that Haidi had received a Mythical Zoan fruit.
Her eyes brightened. She quickly ate the last unidentified fruit.
Like everyone else, Hu Yue grimaced at the awful taste.
After watching Hu Yue consume the fruit, Vilin looked on with anticipation.
As soon as she swallowed it,
every member of the Aitrias Pirates turned their attention to Hu Yue.
They watched as her body was instantly enveloped in moonlight.
When the moonlight faded,
Hu Yue's new form appeared before them.
She had transformed into a majestic all-silver white wolf,
with a mysterious moon symbol shining on her forehead.
Seeing her sister turn into such a noble-looking white wolf,
Hu Yue's younger sister Hu Xue's eyes widened.
"Sis, you're so beautiful!"
Hearing her sister's teasing, Hu Yue immediately returned to human form.
Vilin saw the pair of white wolf ears on Hu Yue's head.
He reached out again and gently stroked the fluffy ears.
Feeling the silk-smooth fur, Vilin couldn't stop touching them.
Hu Yue felt Vilin's touch.
Her pretty face turned as red as if she were drunk.
With both having eaten their Devil Fruits,
the crew finally withdrew their gazes and returned to their tents.
The next morning,
outside Vilin's camp, all crew members had begun moving their belongings back onto the ship.
Vilin stood atop a towering ancient tree.
He looked at Brogy and Dorry with eyes full of gratitude.
Although he had traded for the giants' national martial arts,
he was still deeply thankful for their guidance.
"Thank you both for your teachings. Vilin is eternally grateful."
"No need for more words—I will definitely keep the promises I made to you."
"I must continue my journey now. See you in the New World, brothers."
With those words,
Vilin bowed deeply to the two giants.
Then, under their reluctant gazes, he flew back onto the Flying Bird.
Seeing Vilin depart,
Dorry and Brogy felt a touch of melancholy.
But thinking they would meet again on the sea someday,
the two burst into hearty laughter.
"The little guy's gone. Time for us to continue our fight."
"Dorry, I will defeat you."
"I am the strongest warrior of Elbaf!"
"Hmph, we'll see about that!"
"Oh right… did we forget to tell little Vilin about the Island-Eating Monster?"
"Hahahaha, did we?"
"With that monster's strength, little Vilin can definitely beat that thing."
"Yeah, you're right. Let's settle it!"
"Here I come!"
Having left Little Garden,
the Aitrias Pirates, led by Vilin, set sail toward Drum Island.
Vilin had long coveted the Munch-Munch Fruit on Drum Island.
Aboard the Flying Bird,
Vilin was playing games with his crew.
Suddenly, a massive wave surged toward them.
The ship rocked violently as the waves rolled.
"What's this?"
While Vilin and the others were confused, Annie's shout came from the deck.
"Captain! A huge creature is approaching from ahead!"
