Minnie Pov
We had lunch, and then Sara took me to the game center, where we laughed and had fun. After that, she took me to the beach. As I breathed in the fresh air, I felt a little relaxed. I sat on the sand while Sara played with the waves. Watching her, I realized how lucky I was to have her in my life. She thought I would be distracted from what happened yesterday, but that wasn't true. Inside, I was still broken-I was only pretending to be okay and trying to forget.
I never expected this from Pranav. I thought he was a good guy. At one point, I even considered accepting his proposal because he had liked me for a year. I was lost in my thoughts when I heard Sara calling me to join her. I said "no," but she didn't listen. She dragged me toward the waves and started splashing water on me. Soon, we were laughing and playing, completely soaked.
Smiling, we returned to her car, where she already had a pair of extra clothes. After changing, we went to a restaurant and ended the day with dinner.
Sara: "Do you want to eat ice cream?" I asked cheerfully, already imagining myself ordering two.
Minnie: "No, Sara. I'm already full."
Sara: "You didn't eat enough,"
Minnie: "I'm really not in the mood to eat."
Sara: I sighed, stared at her like she had committed a crime, and thought for a moment.
"Fine then... let's sleep together."
Minnie: I was drinking water. The moment she said sleep together, I sprayed water everywhere. "WAIT-WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY.
Sara: "Why are you reacting like that?" she asked innocently.
Minnie: "Because people usually explain before saying things like that!"
Sara: "I meant SLEEP. ACTUAL SLEEP. YOU KNOW- EYES CLOSED, BLANKET, ZERO ROMANCE."
Minnie: "You could have started with THAT!"
Sara: "Your dirty mind jumped, not my sentence."
Minnie: "But your parents have to allow you to stay with me."
Sara: "Don't worry, I'll inform my parents."
Minnie: "Okay, let's go."
We reached home and found my mom sitting in the hall, watching a TV series. We tried to walk in silently, but together we said, "We're home." She got startled when she saw us, took a deep breath, and then started scolding us lightly. I informed her that Sara would be staying with me tonight, and my mom simply nodded in approval.
We went to my room. I took a bath while Sara talked to her mom, informing her that she would be staying with me tonight , After my bath, I lay down on the bed, and Sara joined me. We talked for a while, shared a few laughs, and soon drifted off to sleep.
In the middle of the night, I started to shiver and panic because my breathing was out of control. Sara suddenly shook me, and when I opened my eyes, I saw her sitting beside me on the bed. She gave me some water to drink. I drank it, took a deep breath, and saw the worry on her face.
Sara said, "You still get those nightmares?" she asked worriedly.
I said, "Yes... every time I get depressed, I have nightmares." I lowered my head, and a tear fell from my eye as I started to cry. She hugged me and didn't say anything. She just stayed with me, and after some time, we fell asleep.
Some days passed as usual. Every morning, Sara picked me up for college and dropped me at my café. She also picked me up from the coffee shop and dropped me home. I told her Many times I did not need her to drop me home and I didn't want to disturb her, but she always said it was okay. After what happened with Pranav, she became very protective of me. When I reached home, I ate dinner with my mom and we talked sometime and then i went to sleep, but even then I kept getting nightmares about that one horrible day. I wanted to forget it so badly, but no matter how hard I tried. I couldn't.
In college, Pranav tried to talk to me about that incident. But Sara shouted at him and told him to stay away from me. After that, he kept his distance. One evening at the coffee shop, I heard the door was open and slowly came back to my senses. A guy walked into the café. I didn't know why my heart felt strange, but for a moment my breath stopped, and I couldn't look away.
