Rem and Lug slowly make there way to the rear of the classroom. Rem finds himself is in some way's grateful to be here and capable learning from an actual teacher for once. Sure the Elvin Prist is clearly more interested to spreading the gospel but he'll certainly give out some useful cultivation knowledge eventually…hopefully. Cause if not Rem would prefer to go back to Pit mines and dig for valuable metals. The overseers always reward them with good meat if the duo brings up some particularly valuable.
"Rem?" Lug asks
"Yes Lug?"
"Ware are we supposed a sit again?"
Rem gently grabs one of Lugs claws and pulls him to the far wall as far away from the other kids as possible."Right here."
"Kay."THUD lug drops onto his rear without a single care. The class does there best not to stare but it's obvious they still don't quite get why the two Wretches are there.
In all honesty it's strange that they are here. Most parents never register Wretches as citizens. Even if said Wretch is there kid. Instead what normally happens is that the baby is chucked into the Pit at the center of Havensrise.
But apparently Lug was registered, by his parents before they passed away, and well Rem isn't sure why he's a citizen. But the nun who beat up the overseer, was very insistent that he was a citizen so here Rem is. Starving, listening to gospel in a classroom, instead of digging for rare minerals to eat/TRADE definitely trade. Rem looks around paranoid that an overseer might pop up having read his thoughts.
All he sees are the backs of many kids, the happy face of the priest.
Releaseing a small sigh of relief Rem closes his eyes and tunes out the Pries and reaches deep within himself coping a trick he learns from a much older miner to examine his Soul. Normally Rem would have Lug stand guard and spend hours toning out all the noise that echoes around the pit. But in this quiet classroom with the soothing voice of the priest Rem is able to grasp at his soul log in only 30 minutes. Within Rems minds eye a flickering spark appears. It's fuzzy, and somehow full of cracks and discolorations but Rem knows for certain it's his Star. Or what might become his star one day, if he can find away to cleanse and mand all the discoloration and cracks that are natural to a Wretches existence.
But that isn't what Rem came for so pulling back wards Rem let's that spark grow fuzzy until it's only flickering within his mental sight, then he lets his subconscious draw what it knews with that light. Slowly words form behind Rems eyes.

For a moment Rem is estate heavy has grown from 45% to 50% sense he last looked a month ago, additional strength has finally risen past 1! But then Rem grimaces seeing his 1 intelligence. To an extent Rem knows it's not his fault. Despite learning as much as he can from any source available Rems intelligence has never risen past 1. Rem knows he's not dumb or…at least not 1 intelligence dumb. Infact the bare minimum intelligence for learning to speak is apparently 3! At least according to the overseers it is. They complain about getting growles at a lot…
No the problem is the Rem is part Fairy, and Fairy, don't have brains, so they don't have an intelligence score. Instead there minds are located directly inside there souls. But Rems soul is a bloody mess. Focusing on his many racial talents Rem grimaces at what he sees.
-Plastic mind( Human talent )- Humans have naturally flexible minds, you more so than most.
-Soul Shards( Incubus talent)- Incubi have no need for standard souls to store power within instead instead there souls are spread throughout there body's greatly increasing sensitivity and regeneration.
-Enlarged soul( High Elvin talent ) - High Elves are darlings of magic, you more so than most.
-Consumed potential( Goblin talent ) -Goblins are naturally adoptable creatures, they will take on traits from what the eat.
-Arcane mind ( Fairy talent)- Fairy's are born of magic, there is very little difference between there minds and souls, yours are even less distinct.
Rem almost cry's at seeing this familiar mess. Not every Wretch is as blessed as Lug. Simply put Rem doesn't have brain, instead his body has soul crystals located in clusters thoughout his body. Over 100 grain sizes crystals a quarter of which are located inside his horn. Thankfully most are sequestered inside his bones, case it bloody hurts to lose even one. Now with plastic mind to help bridge the gaps between theses valuable gems Rem was even from a young age capable of surviving, hunting, and foraging for food within the Pit… but complex thought took a while… it took meet an unstoppable inascapable force. Lug. Of being forced to think to survive or else get crushed by a starving titan is one helluva way to wake up for the first time! So when Rem finally had his first thought at the ripe young age of 7. It wasn't something smart or wise or curule. It was "Why not just…run away with the food instead of fighting over it?"So Rem ran away, on all fours, caring a stolen hunk of meat in his mouth while being chased by Lug. A case that continued for months on account of Lugs incredible sense of smell, and stubborn stomach. At least Rem is pretty sure that's when he developed Cognition. It's hard to say since it wasn't until he was 8 and working at Deep Pit Mining Co that he learn how to see his Stat Log. As for why his intelligence isn't lower, we'll that would be because of his one and only Feat. lost yet Found.(obtain sentience despite being born without it. +1 intelligence, wisdom and ability.)
Before Rem can ponder the nature of feats hes awoken from his trance by Lug smacking him up side the head.
"Come on Rem wake up it lunch time and there feedn us stew! I ain't never ad stew Rem. Oh I'd wana try it right now Rem!"
