Chapter 2 - chapter 2 his true queen apart.

Suddenly, in that dark and desolate field, the freezing wind shifted as a pair of familiar, warm arms reached out from behind, pulling Aelira firmly against a beating chest.

It was Cupid. The subtle, enchanting fragrance of his golden wings and the steady rhythm of his heart instantly dispelled the surrounding void. Before Aelira could even process his presence, he leaned down and pressed a deep, tender kiss against the soft curve of her neck and shoulder.

There was no rage or divine wrath in that kiss—only pure longing, unspoken hurt, and an eternal, undeniable devotion.

Leaning close to her ear, Cupid whispered softly, "Foolish girl... did you really think breaking a rule could instantly erase a love like this?"

Wiping the tears from her eyes, Aelira realized that he hadn't abandoned her completely. But now that the secret was out and the veil was broken, everything had changed.

Tears streamed down Aelira's face as she wept in Cupid's arms, her heart a tangled mess of overwhelming relief and deep remorse. She buried her face against his chest, clutching tightly to his garments as if letting go would make him vanish into thin air once again.

Cupid held her close, gently stroking her long golden hair and whispering comforting words to soothe her trembling frame.

But as the moonlight cut through the shifting shadows of the desolate field, a sudden, sharp rustle broke the quiet intimacy.

From a distance, half-hidden behind the gnarled trunk of an ancient oak tree, a familiar figure froze in absolute shock. It was Aelira's father, the king.

He had spent days searching frantically for his missing daughter, tearing the kingdom apart with grief. Now, standing under the pale moonlight, his eyes widened in sheer disbelief as he stared across the clearing. He saw his daughter weeping in the arms of a breathtaking, ethereal youth whose massive, glowing white wings folded protectively around her.

Aelira gasped, pulling back as she caught sight of her father watching them. The secret was out—not just to the gods, but to the mortal world.

One afternoon, Aelira was lying in deep, peaceful slumber upon a luxurious bed within a quiet, secluded chamber of the magical palace. She was draped in a single, flowing white sheet that loosely covered her form. In her relaxed sleeping posture, the sheet shifted slightly, leaving her smooth stomach bare, just below which a breathtaking, glowing diamond gemstone adorned her lower navel, catching the light.

At that exact moment, Cupid stepped silently into the room. In his hands, he held his signature golden bow and arrow. He leaned closely over the sleeping Aelira, pausing for a breathless second as he gazed at her ethereal beauty and the radiant sparkle of the diamond on her skin. Then, he gently aimed his arrow toward her heart.

The delicate touch of the arrow's tip startled Aelira awake. Her eyes flew open to find Cupid hovering right above her. But caught in the sudden tension of being watched, Cupid faltered—fearing discovery, he instantly spread his massive white wings and vanished out the window into the open sky.

Aelira bolted upright in bed, gasping as she woke up. But as consciousness fully returned, she felt a strange, thrilling shift deep within her body. Shocked and terrified, her eyes widened in disbelief as she felt a sudden warmth and movement at her back and slowly, a pair of magnificent, glowing white wings began to unfurl and stretch from her own shoulders!

Awakening from the dream-like trance to this supernatural transformation, Aelira sat in absolute panic and astonishment, wondering if she was turning from a mortal into an immortal being. The realization hit Aelira like a sudden wave as her glowing white wings stretched out behind her. The confusion and panic melted away, replaced by an overwhelming surge of ancient memories flooding back into her mind.

Aelira was not just a mortal princess born of dust and blood. She was a true goddess all along—an immortal entity whose divine essence had been temporarily veiled in mortality.

And the most shocking truth of all? **She knew it. And her father, the king, knew it too.**

Long before she ever walked the mortal realm as a fragile princess, Aelira had chosen to descend, sealing her memories and divine powers to experience the raw, profound depths of mortal existence and true love. Her father, the king of that ancient realm, was no ordinary mortal either; he was an immortal guardian who had sworn to watch over her sacred slumber until the day her true nature awakened.

Just as Aelira sat in silence, coming to terms with her divine identity, the heavy chamber doors gently swung open.

There stood her father, no longer looking like a stressed mortal king, but draped in regal, timeless garments of light. A gentle, knowing smile touched his lips.

*"The time has finally come, my daughter,"* he said softly, his voice echoing with divine resonance. *"The veil has lifted. You are no longer bound to the earth. You are, and always have been, a goddess of the heavens."*

With her wings fully unfurled and her godly powers returning, Aelira stood up. She no longer needed to hide from Venus, from fate, or from the trials of the gods. As an immortal goddess reunited with her true self, she was ready to take her rightful place by Cupid's side, turning their forbidden romance into an eternal, divine union. With her divine identity fully restored and her magnificent white wings softly folded behind her, Aelira wasted not a single moment. She flew straight to where Cupid was.

The god of love was standing alone in the sprawling stone courtyard of the magical garden, completely lost in thought. His signature golden bow hung loosely from his hand, and his heart was heavy with the lingering ache of separation, believing he had lost her forever.

Aelira stepped right into his view, a soft, triumphant, and adoring smile playing on her lips. As Cupid blinked in absolute shock, breathless and staring at her, Aelira closed the distance instantly and threw her arms tightly around his neck.

Overwhelmed by her warm embrace and the familiar, intoxicating scent of her presence, Cupid's hesitation vanished. In a swift, effortless motion, he wrapped his arms around her waist, scooped her up completely into his arms, and lifted her off the ground.

And right then, pouring all his pent-up longing, relief, and eternal devotion into the gesture, Cupid pulled her close and captured her lips in a deep, breathtaking, and passionate kiss. That kiss sealed their destiny proving that neither gods, curses, nor mortal boundaries could ever keep the god of love and his true queen apart.
