Chapter 26 - Midnight Chaos

Some Mid-night Chaos and Scoldings.

Aurelion who was supposed to be resting and sleeping peacefully was actually getting scolded this late at night.

"Have you gone crazy, your highness?" Lyra shouted.

"Do you know how dangerous that could have been, What do you think would happen if I tell her Majesty about this?" She added.

Aurelion was sitting on both of his knees, head down and hands straight down on the knees.

"I'm sorry, I was just experimenting." He apologized.

Lyra turned her head sideways and said.

"About this—".

I SEE YOU GUYS MUST BE CONFUSED THINKING WHY AM I SUDDENLY GETTING SCOLDED. DON'T WORRY, YOU HAVE NOT SKIPPED ANY CHAPTER. TO UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION PROPERLY WE'LL NEED TO GO BACK IN TIME A LITTLE BIT.

30 Minutes Before Lyra Entered—

Aurelion came back from the night gathering, his mouth still reeking the smell of the sweet syrup so, he went to the washroom to brush his teeth.

While brushing, weirdly enough he was thinking about magic.

"So, If I entangles elemental spell circles, will they produce a combined output a new element?" He murmured to himself.

"I have seen Uncle Handsome perform both water and fire magic at the same time from a single."

"Man, how does he do that? Even veteran war magicians rarely perform Dual Casting from different hands, let alone casting them from same circle in single hand."

Then, he gets a Eureka moment.

"Wait, what if I tangle the magic circles themselves and form a new lining for their combined output."

Aurelion goes back to his bed. He sits in a meditation pose, crossing his legs and back straight.

LET'S TRY SOMETHING NEW TODAY. I HAVE HEARD THAT ONLY MAGICIANS ABOVE 5TH CIRCLE HAS SUCCEEDED IN DUAL CASTING, OF COURSE, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF UNCLE THAT IS.

Aurelion waves his fingers in a sense as if he was carving something in the air. Faint mana lines try to emerge. Their color was reddish orange which depicted that it was Fire magic.

~Author- My guy here, really trying to do some Dr. Strange shit.

He waved his hand toward sideways. A small and controlled Fireball came out of his hand.

OK, THE SAME AS USUAL. NOW, LET'S DO THE ANOTHER ONE.

He drew a new circuitry in his other hand after the fire extinguished, this time the color was whitish blue, which depicted that it was Ice magic.

He waved his hand again. This time some icicles came out. Again, small and controlled.

AGAIN, A GREEN FLAG. NICE.

This time, he tried to cast both magic spells at the same time but nothing came out. Neither a Fireballs nor any icicles.

DAMN, I GUESS IT IS STILL TOO EARLY FOR ME TO HARNESS TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF MAGIC AT THE SAME TIME. I SHOULD GO BACK TO ORIGINAL IDEA.

Aurelion thought.

Now, what happened was completely different from the other two times. This time he drew the Fireball circuitry first but only the left side first, leaving many opened strings and unrefined edges in the spell circle.

It looked an unfinished design of modern art.

Now, Aurelion drew the right half, carving the mana strings starting from opened edges, but the color was no longer reddish orange instead it was whitish blue, meaning he was drawing the rest of the circle with ice magic.

He refined all the edges, completed the circle boundaries and tapped it while channeling mana from his Mystic Heart to implement the Spell Circle.

"Please work. Damn it, just do any reaction." He prayed.

The circle reacted, firstly it burned to a crisp and then chilly icicles came out. Then, the mana completely disappeared as if it never existed.

HUH, WHAT JUST HAPPENED? DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG? I WAS SURE IT WORKED, THOUGH.

Aurelion could not understand if he had succeeded or failed.

To experiment for his success, he aimed at a flower vase in front of his bed, placed on the side of a dressing table.

He channelized the mana, drew the same circuitry and shot.

SHOOM

The Spell went. It hit with a fireball's heat first then, icicles pierced it.

BOOM

"IT'S A SUCCESS." Aurelion yelled with excitement.

At that moment, Lyra opened the door. Aghasted, she shouted. " YOUR HIGHNESS"

WELL, YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THAT. SO, SHE IS SCOLDING ME FOR A QUITE A LONG TIME NOW. AND YES I HAVE ALREADY EXPLAINED IT TO HER WHAT HAD ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

"Ok ok, Lyra."

" I get it now. I understand that I will be more cautious again." Aurelion said.

"Ohh really? So, what did you exactly understand?" She asked while dead locking eyes with him.

"I definitely won't blast— I mean aim at any vase in night,"

"Sigh, atleast you understa—"

"I will BLAST them at the daytime." Aurelion interrupted her with a smug reply.

"DON'T BLAST ANYTHING IN THE ROOM, JUST DO IT IN YOUR TRAINING GROUNDS." Lyra Yelled with anger.

"Fine, fine." He replied.

IT WAS A SUCCESS, I MUST TRY TO DO THESE WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF SPELLS. HA HAAA HA AHH HA.

This night was as chaotic as Aurelion's mind. Hopefully, the next morning brings some calm and peace to the the Royal Palace.
