Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: The Raging Age of Gods

Inside the tent, Shindai suddenly clutched his forehead and burst into maniacal laughter, tears streaming from his eyes.

Shindai wasn't laughing out of happiness; he was laughing from sheer exasperation.

"Minato-sensei, is Shindai alright?"

Outside the tent, Obito, who had already learned the full story, heard Shindai's somewhat deranged laughter and felt a pang of worry.

Minato Namikaze, hearing Shindai's wild laughter, also worried that Shindai might be having a mental breakdown, so he quickly used the Flying Thunder God Technique to bring Obito, Kakashi, and Rin Nohara over.

Minato Namikaze thought of having the three of them try to talk some sense into Shindai and calm him down, lest he truly become insane.

Rin Nohara said worriedly, "Just hearing Shindai's laughter, something's definitely wrong. His usual laughter sounds mischievous, but his current laughter sounds a bit tragic."

Kakashi gave his characteristic deadpan look and turned to Minato Namikaze, "Minato-sensei, you're not planning on having us talk to Shindai, are you?"

Minato Namikaze gave an embarrassed smile, "Yes, you're all the same age, and your relationship with Shindai is good. He'll definitely listen to your advice more."

Obito was full of drive, clenching his right hand into a fist and pounding it into his left palm. "Leave it to us! We'll definitely talk some sense into Shindai. Kakashi, Rin, let's go!"

Obito led the way, head held high, striding confidently towards Shindai's tent.

Kakashi and Rin Nohara followed behind Obito.

Suddenly.

Inside the tent, Shindai, having laughed enough, slammed his hand on the table and roared, "Damn you, Rasa! I will never forgive you! Thirty years to the east of the village, thirty years to the west of the village—you're bullying me now! I'll bully your sons and daughters later!"

This roar startled Obito, who leaped back a step, directly hiding behind Kakashi and Rin Nohara.

Kakashi and Rin Nohara simultaneously turned their heads, looking at Obito speechlessly.

Where was that aura from earlier? Where did it go?

Obito said awkwardly, "I, I think we should wait a bit before going in. I'm afraid if we go in now, Shindai will beat me up, and in the future, our children might also get beaten up by Shindai..."

Kakashi and Rin Nohara exchanged glances and said in unison, "I agree."

Listening to Shindai's roar, it wasn't hard to tell that he was absolutely furious. Going in to persuade him now would be like walking into a firing squad.

Shindai's cursing hadn't ended yet: "Ebizo, I wish you youth, and that you lose the 'old' from your name and go straight to a sea burial! Chiyo, I wish you, that old hag, would go directly in a swimsuit to seduce Ōnoki, that old geezer with the snotty nose! I wish all of you would be turned into Human Puppets by Sasori, that guy whose puppet technique can't compare to mine!"

Obito, Kakashi, and Rin Nohara didn't know Ebizo and Chiyo, so they didn't really grasp the meaning of Shindai's curses.

But Minato Namikaze did.

"Hiss... he's cursing that harshly?"

Minato Namikaze gasped, it seemed Shindai was truly super angry this time.

But what were Sasori and Human Puppet?

A scorpion in the desert? A puppet that looks very human?

Shindai's chest heaved with anger.

How did he not know he wrote a scroll telling the Third Kazekage to leave Hidden Sand Village?

How did he not know he was turned by Konoha?

How did he not know that after he lured out the Third Kazekage, he had Konoha Ninja attack the Third Kazekage?

He was here as an undercover agent, diligently working every day, living a life of constant fear, every day battling wits with Ninja World powerhouses like Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya... was it easy for him?

After all this, he became a traitor?

This matter was definitely concocted by Rasa, Chiyo, and Ebizo, no need to even think about it.

Because declaring war on Konoha was a big deal for Hidden Sand Village, it certainly couldn't be decided by just one person.

Moreover, the fact that he inexplicably became a traitor was very likely that bastard Rasa's idea.

Although Shindai had never met Chiyo and Ebizo, the Third Kazekage and Pakura had spoken to him about Chiyo and Ebizo.

Chiyo and Ebizo were quite good to their own Ninja Village people.

But Rasa, that person, was ruthless enough to even lay hands on his own son, sending people to assassinate him.

So, such a malicious accusation that he became a traitor, Rasa, that scoundrel, was definitely capable of it.

Shindai's eyes were fierce, looking as if he wanted to devour someone.

He never wanted to be an undercover agent; the Third Kazekage forced him to be one.

The Third Kazekage just closed his eyes and ignored everything, while he, the undercover agent, was forcibly branded a traitor.

That bastard Rasa was truly insidious enough.

Originally, this dirty trick should have been used on Pakura, but unexpectedly, it was used on him first.

Shindai felt terribly wronged.

How could anyone bully someone like this!

When he learned of the Third Kazekage's disappearance, he still thought about contacting other people in Hidden Sand Village.

Even if he couldn't summon Shinobi Hawk or contact anyone in Hidden Sand Village, he still thought they would proactively contact him.

He never expected that what he would eventually get was the fact that he had become a traitor.

Shindai gnashed his teeth and said bitterly, "No bloodline, no eyes, just like me, cannon fodder, what are you so proud of! If you don't want me, I don't want you either! Cannon fodder also comes in different ranks, and one day I'll let you know what a powerful piece of cannon fodder you gave up!

It's infuriating, I can't swallow this anger. Be careful, I might send Masked Obito to trouble you in the future!"

Outside the tent, Obito and the others, hearing no more movement from Shindai inside, Kakashi and Rin Nohara simultaneously turned to look at Obito behind them.

Obito saw Kakashi and Rin Nohara staring at him and felt a little uneasy: "W-why are you looking at me like that?"

Kakashi said, "It's about time we went in. Let's go."

Obito's earlier bravado had long vanished without a trace; now he was a bit timid.

Obito cleared his throat, "Kakashi, you go in first. I'll stay behind and think about how to persuade Shindai."

Kakashi squinted at Obito, "Obito, you're not scared, are you?"

Hearing Kakashi's words, Obito froze. Rin Nohara was still nearby; how could he admit he was scared!

Obito stiffened his neck and retorted, "Who's scared! How could I be scared? Go if you want to go, who's afraid of whom? Rin, I'm telling you, I'm the bravest man in the world!"

After speaking, Obito bravely walked to the very front.

A slight curve appeared at the corner of Kakashi's mouth beneath his mask.

The provocation worked!

He didn't want to be the first to enter the tent, because Shindai was troublesome enough on a normal day, and an angry Shindai would be even more impossible to deal with.

Moreover, persuading people wasn't Kakashi's strong suit; being sarcastic was more his thing.

Rin Nohara, walking behind Obito, quietly said to him, "You can do it, Obito!"

Obito instantly felt a surge of adrenaline, and Shindai's words about being cool intermittently echoed in his mind.

Obito suppressed the rising curve of his lips and said coolly, "Rin, watch my performance!"
