Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A Single Broom, Half a Celestial City

ain in Tianyun City never brought life, only the smell of decaying earth.

Han Yuan had changed into coarse hemp clothes, sweeping the medicine dregs in the backyard one stroke at a time. His sword intent was still there, but it was locked deep in his sea of consciousness.

"Your force is off by thirty percent," Su Qing's cold voice drifted from the porch. "To sweep medicine dregs, use thirty percent spiritual vibration and seventy percent physical force."

Just then, the wooden door was violently kicked open. Five men in azure robes strode in. The leader was a burly man from the "Tianshui Sect."

"Tianshui Sect business! Everyone on the floor!"

Han Yuan's eyes turned deep as an icy sea. But before he could move, Su Qing spoke.

"The door: three spiritual stones. Disturbing the medicine spirits: ten. Dirtying the floor: five. A total of eighteen low-grade spiritual stones. Pay up, then get out."

The burly leader laughed. "Pay up? Little girl, you're coming with us!"

He reached out to grab Su Qing's shoulder. Su Qing flicked her finger.

Buzz—

The man's hand stopped in mid-air. His Golden Core had lost all connection the moment Su Qing flicked her finger.

"Your 'Tianshui Art' was practiced too quickly. There is a 0.3-inch displacement in your meridian junctions. This displacement is your death point."

She applied pressure with her finger. Thud. The man collapsed like a pile of mud. It wasn't slaughter; it was deconstruction.

"Take this gangrene and get out of my sight."

Han Yuan understood. He picked up his broom and swept it casually. A terrifying gust of wind swept out—the lingering ripple of a sword intent that remained peerless even without cultivation. The intruders were swept up like trash and thrown out.

Han Yuan resumed sweeping.

"Han Yuan," Su Qing said, "your sword intent is too sharp for sweeping. Starting tomorrow, learn to condense your sword qi into threads for slicing medicine. If the slices exceed the thickness of paper, you won't get breakfast."

The sound of the broom hitting the ground came from the backyard.
