Delfina left the restroom after retouching her makeup and making sure that nothing was out of place. She cleaned off the blood and hid the cut with her red lipstick which made it barely noticeable. Then she went out, looking like she'd not just been abused by her ex-fiancé.
She checked the time. It was only 8pm. She needed to return home soon since Gabriele wanted her to read him a story for bedtime.
"Delfina." She heard her name being called.
She turned to the caller and found a man dressed in a clean suit, his hair styled professionally, with not a single strand out of place.
She recognized him immediately. He was a producer for one of the biggest TV shows airing on social media.
Alessandro Ricci.
"It's been so long since I last saw you. How're you been?" He asked.
They exchanged pleasantries by lightly pecking each other on the cheeks.
"I've been alright," she replied.
"How long has it been? Thirteen years? Fourteen?"
Delfina smiled.
