Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 : Black Day ( Part -1)

The next day.

Today was Sunday, so I didn't wake up early. I finally got up at 10 AM, freshened up, and headed down for breakfast. The others—Mom, Seojun, and Seohee—were already up. I saw them sitting out in the garden as I passed. I didn't go to greet them right away, focusing instead on finishing my breakfast first.

Afterward, I spent some time with them. We sat together, the conversation drifting between the mundane and the serious. We talked about studies, the crew, and the business.

Eventually, I stood up and asked Seohee and Seojun to follow me. I called for Alfred to take out the car. He brought it around to the front, and we all sat inside, ready to head out. But just as I was saying my goodbyes and we were about to leave, a heavy feeling settled in my chest.

It was a sharp, sudden pull—my sixth sense. It was alerting me, a silent alarm screaming that something bad was about to happen.

Memories of my previous life flashed back. There was a kid my age back then; we were like real brothers. One day, he was heading out to earn some money doing odd jobs on the street—distributing posters, serving tea, selling flowers. The older kids in the orphanage had taught us how to do it. They told us that when the orphanage eventually kicked us out, we could use that saved money to start a life, pay for a rented room, and survive until we found real work.

That day, it was his turn to go. Just as he was leaving, I got that same strange feeling.

"Brother, can you stay home today? I'll go instead," I said quietly.

"Huh? Are you trying to skip homework? We already decided—odd and even days. You can't change it now," he said, trying to sound serious.

Then his face suddenly brightened, like he had figured something out.

"Ohhh… I know why you're stopping me! You need to do my drawing, right? And you're bad at it."

He giggled a little. "It's okay though… you can draw however you want. I won't complain."

"No… it's not that," I murmured. "I just… feel like something bad might happen if you go."

"Bad? What could happen to me?"

He puffed his chest proudly. "Don't forget, I'm two months older than you… and stronger too! Hmph."

Then he turned toward the door.

"Okay, bye! I have to go now, or I'll be late and that pug-faced uncle will start scolding me again!"

He laughed as he ran outside.

I never saw him again after that day.

Maybe, just maybe, he was adopted by someone. I kept telling myself that over the years just to feel better.

Snapping back to the present, I immediately told Alfred to stop. The car hadn't even reached the gates of the house yet. I looked at Seojun and Seohee and told them to remain at home while I went alone. If something was about to happen, I could handle it myself. If I involved them, I'd have to protect them, and that would only be a hassle.

They tried to ask for a reason, but I ignored them. I headed straight for the garage, mounted my BMW bike, and tore out of the driveway.

Unknown POV

The room was draped in heavy shadows, the only light coming from a small lamp over a table cluttered with maps and documents.

"What, you will hand me that bar? Are you serious?" Person 1 asked, his voice laced with suspicion. "You aren't the type to hand your things over easily. Tell me, what are you planning?"

Person 2 leaned forward, his face partially obscured. "I'm not planning anything. Just maintaining all the clubs is hard. And I'm not giving it for free. I want these locations from your territory."

He pointed a finger toward a specific section of the map on the table.

Person 1 ' I don't know what he's trying to do by handing me that club… but I need to stay alert around this cunning bastard.'

let out a dry laugh. "Okay, I'll take it—but you can't attack my territory."

"Well, that's great," Person 2 replied smoothly. "As for attacking your territory, I will not make any move , So don't worry."

Internally thinking ' I'm not stupid enough to attack his territory and start a war when Gangbuk's gone this quiet. Something's off with God Dog, and the North is getting stronger. If I make a move now, they'll use it as their chance to come for mine.'

Unknown POV

"Sir, we got information from the XX press company. They're stating that the opposing party got a hold of your corruption proofs and is trying to release them to the media."

The man behind the desk didn't flinch. "Do they really think we can't do anything to them? Send Ahn's team."

He leaned back in his leather chair, eyes narrowing. Old friend, do you really think politics is fair? I don't know how you got my secrets from my secretary.

He recalled the moment his secretary had come to him, stuttering some bullshit about how he might have given the pendrive to a kid. It still frustrated him. I'm nurturing that kind of secretary who can't even handle a single thing, knowing how important it was.

"But don't worry, I will destroy you, Mr. Kim," he muttered with a cruel smile. "Hah... I forgot it's time for elections. I can't do anything against you directly, but..."

Choyun's POV

I arrived at the final club. The last one I needed to conquer.

The moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere shifted. There were no lights. It was completely dark. I recognized it immediately—a trap. It lined up with what Daniel had mentioned about movement in this area.

Suddenly, the lights slammed on, blinding me for a split second. When my vision cleared, I saw them. People covered every inch of the floor. There was no space to move.

Damn, there are at least a hundred of them.

I shifted my weight and got ready to fight.

I stepped in and grabbed the back of the first man's head, slamming his face into the wall hard enough to crack it. Blood ran down the surface as the man dropped.

A wooden bat came swinging.

Choyun caught it.

The wood splintered in his grip.

He drove the broken end into the attacker's Chest and left him folded over it.

A punch came next.

Choyun seized the arm and twisted until the shoulder slipped out of place.

Someone lunged with a knife.

Choyun kicked the man's wrist. The blade flew loose.

He caught it mid-air.

The moment it touched his hand, his grip changed. The blade settled naturally between his fingers, his wrist loose, his stance shifting without effort.

Then he moved.

In a blink, he passed through ten of them.

They didn't react as they were still standing with Eyes wide their Clothes split open in thin lines , Blood followed a second later.

Slashes surfaced across their torsos and arms as blood began to spill through the cuts. One by one, they dropped, still trying to understand what had just happened.

Choyun didn't stop.

He turned the knife in his hand and drove it into another man's stomach, pulled it free, and cut across the next without breaking stride, A wooden baton came crashing down and struck his arm.

The knife fell. But I punched the one who disturbed my fun thinking

' Hmm… it's been a while since I last used a knife. Still feels familiar. Knife work was one of the many things I was taught in my previous life—along with swords, shields, maces, daggers, axes, and spears. But there's no point dwelling on it now. It's not like I can start searching the ground between their fallen bodies.'

Stepping forward, he drove a knee into someone's ribs, an elbow into another's jaw, then threw a man headfirst into the ground.

Someone tried to grab him from behind.

Choyun stamped down on his knee and struck his throat.

I moved through the rest with his hands and legs alone until no one was left standing.

Later, I made my way up to the VIP lounge. My body is slightly exhausted from the sheer volume of the mob downstairs.

When I reached the top, I stopped cold. Sitting there, right beside the boss of the club, was a face I didn't expect to see.
