The Line Kael Crossed
The van stopped on the outskirts of the city.
An abandoned godown.
No cameras.
No witnesses.
That was the idea.
Leon Ashford was dragged inside, hands tied, thrown onto a chair.
His head hung low.
Blood dried at the corner of his mouth—but his eyes were still sharp.
Delivery
One of the men raised a phone.
"He's here."
A short pause.
Then—
"He's on the way."
Kael Arrives
The metal door creaked open.
Kael Ravencroft walked in.
Three men stood to the side, arms crossed, bored expressions on their faces.
Kael stopped in front of Leon.
Looked him over.
And smiled.
"Well," Kael said calmly,
"if it isn't Leon Ashford."
Leon slowly raised his head.
Kael continued, voice laced with arrogance.
"How does it feel," he asked,
"to fall into the hands of Kael Ravencroft?"
He spread his arms slightly.
"The future tycoon of the Aetherfall Kingdom."
Leon Laughs
Leon laughed.
Hoarse.
Broken.
But genuine.
"A tycoon?" Leon said, coughing once.
"Don't make me laugh."
Kael's smile twitched.
Leon went on, deliberately slow.
"A guy who made money through illegal deals," Leon said,
"smuggled Pokémon, used child labor, trafficked people—"
He looked Kael straight in the eyes.
"And you call yourself a hidden tycoon?"
Leon shook his head.
"You're trash who steals what doesn't belong to him."
The Distraction
As Leon spoke—
His fingers worked quietly.
The rope had loosened.
Just a little.
Enough.
Kael's face darkened.
"Enough."
He stepped forward.
And punched Leon across the face.
Leon fell sideways, chair tipping—
But Kael wasn't done.
He moved in again.
Anger had replaced caution.
The Counter
Kael raised his fist—
And Leon struck.
A desperate kick.
Hard.
Kael froze.
Then collapsed to the ground, clutching himself, face contorted in shock and pain.
The three men watched in silence.
One of them muttered,
"…This is childish."
The leader didn't care.
He stepped forward calmly.
"Payment."
Kael, breathing hard, pulled himself up just enough.
He transferred the money.
The men nodded.
And stepped back.
The End
Kael stood fully now.
His face was twisted—not from pain, but rage.
He pulled out a gun.
Leon looked up at him.
No fear.
Only exhaustion.
"You won't win," Leon said quietly.
Kael didn't reply.
The sound echoed once in the empty godown.
Then—
Silence.
Unseen Eyes
Kael stood there for a moment.
Breathing.
Convincing himself it was over.
That this was necessary.
That no one would know.
He didn't realize—
That somewhere, far away—
Every second had been watched.
Recorded.
Archived.
Elsewhere — The Red Light Blinks
A crimson interface pulsed softly.
Red Queen:
Master… confirmation.
Leon Ashford is dead.
All actions recorded.
Alex stared at the screen.
His expression didn't change.
"…So," he said quietly.
"He chose murder."
Kirlia trembled beside him.
Alex closed the file.
"This," he murmured,
"ends everything."
