Even Elara wasn't this persistent. After asking me to sleep with her, she only messaged me at specific times.
Max, on the other hand, never did.
I didn't really mind the messages. I could ignore them if I wanted. Reply when I felt like it. There was no pressure.
Then the coffee coupons started coming. Gift cards. Discount vouchers. Small things, one after another.
I told her not to send them. She laughed it off every time. Said they were useless to her. Said we could just use them together someday. Said it was no big deal.
I didn't know how to respond to that.
In my life, there had only ever been one person I called a friend.
