Chapter 108 - Strangers

Ignoring my attempt to pull away, Max caught my wrist and dragged me back into the sterile glow of the locker room lights.

"Ta-da!"

She swung a heavy rectangular box into view like she'd just won a prize at a carnival.

My smile stalled.

The edges of the packaging were a deep, clinical charcoal with embossed silver lettering.

No.

"This is..." I managed.

"Yes! Health supplements," Max beamed, practically vibrating with pride. "I pulled some major strings to get these. They're from a place with legendary ratings for recovery. One of the best alphas I know swears by them."

It was the exact same clinical, dark-toned box Elara had been forcing on me for days. The only difference was that it was for both Alpha and Omega, while Elara brought especially for Omega.

Even without opening a packet, the nauseating taste of bitter earth and scorched roots scraped against the back of my tongue. I could almost feel the stinging burn in my nose that usually followed the first gulp.
