Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Black-Corner Region

Chapter 4: Black-Corner Region

Dou Qi Continent, Black-Corner Region.

This was the most chaotic region on the continent, a haven where countless powerful fugitives from various empires sought refuge and established the most barbaric of rules.

Moreover, it was home to numerous races besides humans, making it a miniature version of the continent itself.

The sky was fairly clear today, yet a heavy, oppressive atmosphere seemed to hang over the Black-Corner Region.

An Bufan led the Four Demon Saints into the region. He was dressed in pristine white, while the four saints stood behind him, cloaked in black robes.

All five stood in the void, suspended in mid-air. The powerhouses of the Black-Corner Region could easily spot them if they looked up. But so what if they saw them?

Standing in mid-air—this was the signature ability of a Dou Zong, the simplest yet most natural display of dominance. A Dou Zong was a major figure in the Black-Corner Region. Under such circumstances, who would dare to approach them or cause trouble? It wasn't as if they were tired of living.

"Clan Head!"

"Is there anything special about this Black-Corner Region?" Hun Sha, one of the Four Demon Saints of the Hun Clan, stepped forward, clasped his hands, and asked respectfully.

The Clan Head was a powerful and ruthless figure who never acted without a profit motive. If he had come to this Black-Corner Region... there must be something here that had caught his eye.

But what could possibly interest Hun Tiandi in this remote and impoverished place? Hun Sha really couldn't understand it.

"This place is indeed different. It is basically a miniature continent. Besides the Human Race, other races exist here. The principle of 'might makes right' is more prevalent here than anywhere else," An Bufan said with a faint, sinister smile as he looked down at the land beneath his feet.

"Let's go down there!" An Bufan's gaze locked onto a specific city in the distance.

As soon as he spoke, he descended directly toward Maple City, the place that had drawn his attention. Seeing this, the Four Demon Saints quickly followed.

The five landed safely on the ground and, led by An Bufan, walked straight into Maple City.

Wherever they went, the crowd parted. No one dared to cause trouble. After all, anyone with eyes could tell that An Bufan and his group were not people to be trifled with. Many had seen them standing in the void just moments ago.

Provoking them would be nothing short of a death wish.

The Four Demon Saints followed An Bufan closely. They were puzzled. Where was the Clan Head going? They exchanged glances, seeing the same confusion in each other's eyes, but shook their heads and obediently followed behind him.

Finally, An Bufan stopped.

"The Han Residence!"

An Bufan stood with his hands behind his back, gazing at the vast mansion before him, a faint smile appearing on his lips.

"Hun Sha!"

"Clan Head!" Upon hearing An Bufan's voice, Hun Sha immediately stepped forward and bowed respectfully.

"Go knock on the door!" An Bufan instructed Hun Sha with a meaningful look.

A Heavenly Flame.

The strongest spiritual object in the Dou Qi Continent! Now that he had encountered it, he had to take it for himself.

After I go to Wu Tan City and kill Xiao Yan, I will obtain the Flame Mantra from Yao Chen. This Heavenly Flame will come in very handy, An Bufan thought to himself.

"Yes!"

Upon hearing An Bufan's command, Hun Sha responded respectfully without hesitation. Despite his doubts, he slowly walked to the gate of the Han residence.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Hun Sha knocked on the door.

"Coming!"

As soon as the words were spoken, the tightly closed door opened just a crack. "Who are you looking for?" the butler asked.

"We are looking for Medicine Emperor Han Feng. Tell him we are from the Hall of Souls, and he will see us."

Before Hun Sha could even speak, An Bufan and the other three Demon Saints had arrived at the gate in an instant. To those without sufficient skill, it might have looked like a movement technique, but An Bufan had simply walked over—just incredibly fast.

"This..."

The butler was unsure of their identities, but he was intimidated by the extraordinary aura An Bufan exuded. After hesitating for a moment, he finally nodded.

"Please wait a moment, I will go and inform my Master!"

The butler closed the door again and hurried off.

After the butler left, Hun Sha couldn't help but snort. "What a big ego this 'Medicine King' has!"

"Clan Head, are you looking for this Medicine King to ask for pills?" Hun Yan couldn't help but ask.

How powerful could a Medicine King in the Black-Corner Region be? Surely he wasn't better than the clan's Ninth-Tier Alchemists?

"No!" An Bufan shook his head. "This so-called Medicine King is just a peak Sixth-Tier Alchemist. Is he even worthy of me asking for pills?"

"Then what does the Clan Head want with him?" Hun Yan asked curiously.

A peak Sixth-Tier Alchemist daring to call himself a Medicine King? Such alchemists were a dime a dozen in the Hun Clan!

He had never seen any alchemists in the clan claim to be emperors. Outsiders were truly like frogs in a well, completely unaware of the vastness of the Dou Qi Continent.

"Naturally, it is for one thing," An Bufan said without hiding his intentions.

"What is it?"

"A Heavenly Flame!"

"Master, someone outside requests an audience!" The butler arrived at the pill refining room but did not go in. Instead, he spoke respectfully from outside the door.

He knew that when the Master was refining pills, he hated to be disturbed. As the steward of the Han family, he was well aware of these rules.

"Tell them I'm not seeing anyone!" Han Feng's voice came from inside the room.

Who was Han Feng? He was the Medicine Emperor, the ruler of Maple City. He wasn't someone just anyone could meet on a whim.

"Yes! I will go and drive them away immediately," the butler replied respectfully.

After hearing Han Feng's refusal, the butler prepared to leave. He didn't even mention that the visitors had claimed to be from the Hall of Souls.

Hall of Souls? It sounded like some third-rate power. How could people from such a faction be qualified to meet the Master?

The Master was the Medicine Emperor of the Black-Corner Region!

Just as the butler took a step to leave, Han Feng's voice rang out again.

"Wait a moment!"

"Master?"

Upon hearing Han Feng's words, the butler immediately stopped, turned around, and bowed slightly to the closed door with utmost respect.
