Synopsis
THE LAW OF CAUSE AND EFFECT This is a simple law that works in each and every one of our daily activities. THE LAW OF BALANCE A fundamental law that keeps the world running. Any action that disrupts this fragile balance could meet serious consequences. THE THIRD LAW OF MOTION In physics, this is measured by the force you display. In life, this is measured by the consequences that force will have. It then gives you a completely opposite reaction. When destiny was avoided by a fluke, I strived to keep that fluke alive. I strived to change my destiny. But am I truly ready for the “consequences”?

Chapter 1 - Extermination (Prologue)

My day started like all my other days—unremarkable, plain, and boring. I usually felt like I had no purpose in life, like I was just another normal person. No, that's not the word—extra. That was it. I felt like an extra.

Today was one of those days. As usual, I got into a fight with my dad. I think 🤔 I had mood swings, so the fight was a bit more intense than normal. My mind not being in the right state, I decided to leave the house and go stay at my friend's place for a while. This was actually the most intense fight we had. My dad had a bad day at work, and I had mood swings.

You can already imagine it. Anyway, my mom begged me not to be so rash. She, being a woman and soft, didn't exactly calm me down. If anything, it infuriated me, because it felt like she was taking my dad's side. She always took my dad's side.

I said things like "I hate you" and "I never want to see you again," along with the most hateful comments you could think of. Then again, we all have our rough edges.

I packed my things and slammed the door in their faces, making sure they heard me say they were the worst parents ever. I stormed off to one of my friend's houses; his name is a bit vague in my memory.

Well, a few minutes after I left, Hades decided to expand his army of the undead.

"RIGHTEOUS SECT"

Our orders are clear: exterminate anyone in the vicinity to prevent another threat like "Jack." Nothing more, nothing less. Start charging your energy blasts. We'll blow this place up and return to our various houses. ONCE AGAIN, MAKE SURE NO SOUL IS LEFT!!!

Hah, I guess I did go a bit overboard. Let me go and apologize to him.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

The sound of footsteps echoed through the silence. It felt as though everything and everyone had vanished overnight. I walked toward my neighborhood—my house, to be specific. Scientists have this saying: your brain processes only what it wants to process.

So, despite me walking where houses were supposed to be, I didn't feel anything strange—well, not until I reached my house. That's when it hit me: that eerie silence. It was too quiet. I looked back—there was nothing. I looked left—nothing. Right—same. And I forced myself to look forward, where my house and my family were supposed to be.

"NOTHING".

What just happened?

My mind couldn't process it, yet undeniable proof lay before me—well, the kind of proof that, if I told someone, they'd say I was crazy. The whole neighborhood—where I rode my bike, talked to friends, and became shy in front of my crush. The ants. The termites. Everything.

It was gone.

Everything disappeared.

How?

That was the only question I could ask.
