"Since you think you know everything," Grey said after a long stretch of silence, "why don't we skip the part where you interrogate me and get straight to the part where you actually remove the mark? Maybe after we're done, you can ask yourself those questions and then answer them yourself since you have the answers too?"
Marsel paused.
For a second, Grey thought he might actually be offended.
"That's so rude," Marsel said at last. But instead of anger, a smirk curved his lips, slowly, as if Grey had just said something amusing rather than insulting.
Grey scoffed. "And what you're doing isn't? You speak like you already know everything about me. Assuming you know everything."
"I'm not assuming," Marsel replied, lifting his hands in a mock gesture of surrender. "But… fine. You're right." He tilted his head slightly. "I'm sorry."
The apology caught Grey off guard.
