When Lord Jethro left the imperial palace, disoriented and restless, he hadn't expected the chain of events that would follow.
Grey hadn't been answering his calls or replying to messages, and a deep unease had taken root in him. He couldn't ignore it any longer. He decided he had to find Grey himself.
He had imagined scenarios in his mind: perhaps the Marsel man would be restraining Grey, refusing to let him go, or maybe he was trying to coax Grey, to make him give in and choose him instead of Jethro.
Jethro also saw the possibility of Grey giving in, and the thought filled him with fear.
Grey might surrender because the life Jethro offered was full of pain, uncertainty, and endless exhaustion.
Jethro was terrified that he might lose him forever.
When he finally arrived, his heart slammed against his chest before his mind could even process what he was seeing. Grey was on top of a shirtless man, and for a moment, Jethro felt as though the world had collapsed entirely.
