Chapter 13 - Exorcism, Commission

Akuto looked for a long while, only to find that most of it was useless information.

The remaining small portion consisted of things like mummies, having absolutely nothing to do with Sukuna's Finger.

Akuto thought for a moment.

Since this world had so many evil spirits, there must be a circle of Exorcists.

In any case, Sukuna's Finger was considered a cursed object.

So, joining the Exorcist circle might yield some clues.

"Well then... let's start with exorcism."

Akuto opened several famous exorcism forums, registered accounts, and posted a message on all of them.

[Taking all exorcism missions. High prices. Don't bother me with commissions below four million yen. Contact info...]

"With that kind of attitude and price, no one will ever look for you, right? It's definitely not going to work."

Inside the sealed space, Miko was complaining.

"Shut up!"

"The body is mine, so just go to sleep quietly, brat."

"Besides, for me to take action, four million is already a very low price. Is it hard to choose between your life and money?"

As soon as Akuto finished speaking, the phone rang; it was a friend request from a social media app.

Akuto opened it and saw a follow notification from someone with a kitten profile picture, using the screen name "Usuba."

Akuto clicked the follow back and then sent a message.

"Speak."

The other party replied quickly.

"Can you really perform exorcisms? This commission of mine is very dangerous."

"I've encountered an evil spirit and I'm truly at my wits' end."

Akuto habitually wanted to light a cigarette, but reaching into the pocket, realized it was a skirt and withdrew the hand speechlessly:

"Hurry up and say it, I am busy. If the price is right, I will go find you."

Usuba replied quickly on the other end.

"Is four million yen okay? Fine, my location is in Minato Ward..."

"Four million is the starting price. I'll go to you, and whether there's an evil spirit or not, you have to give me four million. If there isn't, I'll kill you."

"If the price for the evil spirit exceeds four million, I'll tell you. No problem, I'm coming to find you now."

Usuba's side went silent for a while before a message finally came through.

"It seems you are very confident. Then I'll leave it to you; money is not an issue."

"Someone actually commissioned you like this?"

Miko felt her worldview being refreshed. Four million! That was twenty months of Mrs. Yotsuya's salary!

And four million was just the starting price!

Akuto, however, was not very satisfied with this.

"What do you know, brat? This world is never short of rich people."

"Four million is only because I don't have a reputation right now. Once my name gets out there, I won't even look twice at a four-million-yen commission."

"For the wealthy, things that can be bought with money are nothing at all."

As Akuto spoke, he put on his shoes, opened the window, and then pushed off hard with both feet.

Swoosh!

Akuto shot out like an arrow from a bow, with the phone's navigation on, speeding all the way toward Minato Ward.

A journey that would normally take over three hours by train was covered by Akuto in half an hour.

He looked up at the apartment building and confirmed the location.

"Wow! This must be a gathering place for the super-rich, right?"

"I heard houses here cost nearly a billion yen!"

"Ignorant."

Akuto stepped toward the building. Just as he reached the entrance, the door opened automatically, and two greeters approached with professional smiles:

"Hello, Miss. May I ask whom you are looking for? Do you have an appointment?"

These people were like concierges; they knew every resident in this building.

Therefore, it was impossible for a stranger like Akuto to just walk in.

Akuto opened the phone and sent a voice call to Usuba.

"Moshi moshi, this is Nagashima Yaeko."

"I am the person who took your commission. I'm at the apartment entrance now."

The other end of the line fell silent for a moment upon hearing Akuto's coarse voice, seemingly thinking, and only after a while did she nod.

"I will notify the concierge. I am very sorry for the trouble caused to you."

Meanwhile, the two concierges, a man and a woman at the door, looked at Akuto as if they had seen a ghost.

A sweet-looking JK, wearing over-the-knee socks, a beige sweater, and long black hair.

But this voice... why was it so coarse!?

It's clearly a man, right?

It clearly is!

However, as professional concierges, they still maintained smiles on their faces:

"Would you like a cup of coffee while you wait?"

As soon as the words were spoken, a phone rang nearby. One of them answered, glanced at Akuto, and then nodded.

"This... Miss, this way please."

The concierge led Akuto into the elevator. The elevator was quite spacious and had a very fresh fragrance; turning around, one could see the night scenery of Tokyo through the glass.

"Wow... so beautiful."

Miko looked completely like she had never seen the world.

Even though it was already two in the morning, Miko felt as energetic as ever.

The elevator reached the 16th floor, and opening the doors revealed a large penthouse apartment.

A woman wearing silk pajamas stood at the door.

The woman was about 172 cm tall with long legs, a standard oval face, and a beauty mark under the corner of her eye.

Her figure was beyond reproach.

Seeing the concierge bring a young girl, the woman was clearly a bit surprised.

"This is..."

"Less talk. If the money is ready, take me to the site."

The woman was stunned, her pupils trembling slightly, but she was well-composed and quickly regained her calm demeanor.

"I am Nagashima Yaeko. This... Miss, this way please."

Akuto walked into the room, and Yaeko bent over to prepare slippers for him.

When Akuto looked down, he saw the boundless scenery within her neckline.

After changing shoes and walking inside, there was a huge living room right at the entrance. The decoration was relatively modern, and the living room was sunken with a row of sofas.

Akuto sat on the sofa of his own accord and crossed his legs.

Yaeko quickly brewed a cup of coffee for Akuto, placed it on the coffee table, and then sat down as well.

"Excuse me, how should I address you?"

"Akuto."

Akuto smacked his lips,

"Got a smoke?"

"Please do not use my body to smoke!"

Miko protested within the body.

"Shut up! I'll heal you with the Reverse Cursed Technique!"

Yaeko was stunned when she heard Akuto ask for a cigarette, but she still turned to get one, only to hear Akuto seemingly talking to himself.

She had originally thought the person coming would be a burly man, which had made her, a woman living alone, somewhat worried.

As it turned out, this seemed even worse than a burly man.

This girl... she doesn't have any mental problem, does she?

If she hadn't been driven to the brink by the evil spirit, Yaeko would never have done something so irrational.

In fact, two months ago, if someone had told her there were evil spirits in this world, she would have refuted them without hesitation.

But now... "Please, have one."

Akuto took a cigarette and lit it, then looked around, his gaze pointedly shifting to behind Yaeko.

"So, are you being haunted by that disgusting-looking four-eyed guy?"

Yaeko, who was preparing an ashtray for Akuto, felt her hands tremble. She immediately stood up and bowed ninety degrees.

"Please, you must help me!"

Due to overwhelming joy, Yaeko's delicate body was trembling at this moment.
