Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: I Am the Fun-seeker

Chapter 20: I Am the Fun-seeker

Buzz!

At that moment, Triss felt her mind go blank for an instant.

It was as if she had entered an illusion, a script!

She saw it!

Nairn's figure seemed to peel away from the entire room, from the entire world.

Behind him, a magnificent theater illusion emerged—indescribable, composed of countless chaotic shadows and contradictory lines.

The theater's doors swung wide open, releasing an essential aura of 'Absurdity' and 'Chaos' that would make even gods tremble!

The moment the light and shadow transformed from the 'Shadow-Stealing Pocket Watch' touched that theater illusion, all its struggles ceased.

Like a believer seeing the Creator, or a prodigal son finally finding home, it merged into Nairn's body, docile and joyful.

The entire process took no more than a second or two.

It all seemed like an illusion.

By the time Triss regained her senses, Nairn was still standing where he was, as if nothing had happened.

It was done.

[Path of Chaos]—Sequence 9: Fun-seeker.

He felt better than ever before.

An unprecedented, wondrous sense awakened deep within his spirituality.

If the [Player]'s perspective was standing at the edge of the stage, observing the script and ready to jump on for a cameo at any time;

Then now, his perspective had shifted to finding loopholes in the script, thinking about how to turn a serious drama into an absurd farce.

He'saw' it.

The serious pace of the patrolmen on the street, in his eyes, was filled with 'awkward nodes' that could be interfered with.

The bedsheets the landlady was hanging downstairs seemed to issue a silent invitation to him: 'Come on, a perfectly timed gust of wind could send me flying right onto that police inspector's head!'

In his eyes, the world was no longer composed of cold physical rules and causal logic.

It had become a giant playground filled with potential 'punchlines' and 'accidents'!

Order and seriousness were so fragile.

With just a gentle nudge, he could see their pathetic and comical state as they collapsed.

From this, he could draw the purest, most primitive pleasure and power.

"Whew..."

Nairn slowly opened his eyes, a flicker of mischievous, pure laughter flashing deep within them.

He had succeeded.

[Player] and [Fun-seeker].

[Path of a Thousand Faces] and [Path of Chaos].

The Sequence 9s of two Pathways had achieved perfect coexistence and balance within his body at this moment.

He was both the ever-changing Player on the stage and the Fun-seeker sitting in the audience, ready to toss a banana peel onto the stage at any moment.

On one side was the precise acting of the [Player], on the other, the chaotic instinct of the [Fun-seeker].

Contraction and release, tension and relaxation.

The core concepts of these two Pathways did not conflict; instead, they formed a perfect complement.

Before his eyes, the entire world seemed to have a brand-new layer loaded onto it.

The whole world transformed from a predetermined stage into a giant playground full of 'fun'!

Order and seriousness were so incredibly fragile.

And he was the ultimate Fun-seeker, crowbar in hand, ready to give this world a little shock.

The corners of Nairn's mouth curled up into a genuine, heartfelt smile.

He could instinctively perceive where fun could be had, and where awkwardness and accidents existed to be exploited.

An indescribable impulse to create something surged from the depths of his soul.

Like a child who had just received a paintbrush, he couldn't wait to leave his unique graffiti on a pristine white wall.

Nairn slowly raised his head, his gaze seemingly penetrating the walls to look toward a certain direction in Tingen City.

There, he'saw' a slightly serious 'drama' currently playing out.

A middle-aged man with blond hair and blue eyes sat at a desk, writing something seriously, his brow furrowed as if troubled by something.

It's Ince.

Was this due to the special buff provided by the 'Chaos Theater' during his advancement?

Nairn let his vision return to normal.

"Master..."

Triss's barely audible groan pulled him back from the wondrous experience of advancement.

She looked at the unharmed Nairn, whose aura had instead become even more unfathomable, the fervor in her eyes almost overflowing.

Crushing a Sealed Artifact with bare hands!

Refining a Beyonder characteristic in an instant!

Unpredictable, chaotic, and absurd power!

What great power this was! What divine authority!

She felt increasingly fortunate for the choice she had made back on the alfalfa.

"Hmm?" Nairn looked at her.

"Please... please grant me your permission to continue lurking within the Demoness Sect," Triss requested earnestly, quickly making up for her slightly disrespectful behavior. "I will surely gather more useful intelligence and resources for you!"
