Chapter 40 - Chapter 27: Exams explanation, The chronicles of Mary part 2 and Rial's departure

Exams explanation:

"So, how did we win?" Asked the ever knowing Lily.

"Here."

I handed her a receipt, which contained a fully purchased of an item, commonly known as: the class key card. The-class-key card is a digital form of a card which contains the class's leader's name on it. It is also an item, which proves that the class here are allowed to live here on that part of the land.

"Huh! What is this?" Tsubaki asked.

As I turned, I saw the shadow of a certain person. Perhaps, due to the sun I wouldn't see their faces correctly. If I use, what was left of my rinne pure eyes. I am certain that I could see them with no worries, but to protect the truth. I must restrain myself from using that power.

Even so. I do not have it at this moment in time.

"Oh! So that was how the class students won that exam, right." Arisu. Who just now arrived from her room said. "No it is far deeper than you might imagine." Ai said, as she made her appearance with Eigi.

"Huh!" The crowd grew confused.

"Right. Care to explain to them what happened, or are you inviting me to do the honour for you!" With that Ai set the table for me to explain the method I used.

"It wasn't anything special. But in short all I did was buy a fake card from the teachers then imprint the class fake leader's name on it. After that I gave the fake key card the new appointed-supposedly leader." With that I explained half of what I did on that exam.

"And, am I supposed to believe that. Oh! come now, not even a toddler will believe you."

"You can if you want." I said.

"Hmm. Ahuh. Now I see!" An excited Ai said.

"See what?" Everyone exclaimed.

"Rial. You read the whole rule book didn't you."

"Sure, I guess you could say that."

"Then you fooled us into using their special eyes abilities to take a glance at your class's key card. That was also one of the reasons why you and Tsubaki visited all the other classes on the third day. Huh!" Ai explained, what seems you be half of it

I must say, Ai is incredibly gifted. She is what you'd call a true genius. But unfortunately for her, she had to be born in the same era as Arisu, Lily, Tsubaki and Nanase. Who are at most higher or lower than her in terms of straight intelligence. In short, what I am saying is that if you were to remove Arisu and Lily's earlier upbringing. She would have been definitely the only genius here outside of Tsubaki, Nanase and Ichika.

"Well. It is not that you would have to see me in the next exam anyways." I said.

"Huh! What do you mean?" They all asked.

"As I said before, this was my last exam in this educational system. From here now out you all must fight for yourself. But maybe when I am done with my research, I would pay you all a visit, maybe." With that, I told them what my plans were.

For reference, Lily was the least surprised person there, because she had already known ever since I told her about Mary's situation.

"Ah. Okay, I understand where you are coming from." The words flowed out of Eigi's mouth like a silent river quietly sinking at the bottom of a dessert.

"Well. You would be massively missed but don't think for a second that you could get rid of us." Said Max.

"That really wasn't the reason." I muttered.

"Oh, you didn't finish with your explanation." Arisu said.

"Right. after I saw guys using your special eyes to spy on the key card. Tsubaki and I pretended to be worried about it, but in all honesty we really just wanted to laugh. Because, whatever path you choose, it is a failure. Because if you write Tsubaki name, you lose and 50 class points get transferred to us... If you chose to write that you would change leaders as a reason, then you also lose? Because, there weren't any leaders to begin with... Or if you tried to and point we didn't have a leader, technically it is right but wrong at the same time. Because we didn't have an assigned leader and we had a class chosen leader. And in that we'd only get half of 50 class points." I said as I took a long breath both in and out.

"That was truly a perfect plan." Arisu amused.

"Yeah. it truly was." Max also said along with Arisu.

"It is really nothing special. I bet you two could have come up with better ideas than mine. Even by a large margin. I said. I wanted them to get some credit since I basically copied their ideas and maxed them up together. And later added my own toppings.

"I guess. But truly you are amazing." Ichika said, as she walked right from the shadows I saw earlier.

"So. It was her." I muttered under my breath.

"Well Shouldn't you go to the king's first. You know, to get the resigning papers filled." Eigi reminded me.

"Yeah. Thanks and goodbye."

"Yeah, you would be very missed!" They said as quietly as possible.

"I will miss you very very much! Lily said, as small droplets of tears left her eyes. "Yeah me too. I will miss you as well." Christina said, as she also stood at the rack watching.

"For some reason, I felt the silent echo in my heart. It didn't want me to stop searching for Mary, but it did want me to stay. But I, myself knew that wasn't possible.

"I will take care of your eyes for you." Both Eigi and Lee promised to themselves.

Part 2: The chronicles of Mary part 2:

Mary's perspective:

"Why, Why! Why! Why! Why! did you betray me. I screamed, as I stood standing on a long wooden table which slowly was swallowing me whole.

"Because I knew exactly what you had been planning ever since it came up in your head." Mr Nights said.

The guard of which I touched to sense the area, stood there quietly. Watching me been burn and tortured must have been really hard for him to watch? Because immediately he excused himself to use the washroom.

But how wrong I was to think that. Just as he reached a safe distance where nobody could see or hear him, the sounds of laughter could be heard next from that direction.

"I guess, this will be how I die then?" I said to myself as now I accepted my faith.

Ever since birth all that I have known is pain, from then till now. Over 11 years of life, I had mostly gained more experience than the regular adult at 30 to 40 years of age. This is because, from birth the master of this prison taught us 3 things: 1 was how to survive in this prison facility. The second was how to defeat your enemies, which could be anyone then finally how to kill your enemies.

Over all, this world is really a nightmare, more than I thought at first. But, I didn't have to worry.

As I closed my eyes, slowly reliving my happiest days with big-brother and Yuki-chan. I suddenly sensed a strange person in my vision. "Hello, little one." The stranger said.

Afraid that the master and the guard can me, so I tried talking in sign language, which I learned for big-brother back on earth in Japan.

"Oh. There is no need for that, but if you want we could talk in that language if you prefer."

Using my hands, I told the stranger that I didn't want them to hear us, and that is why I am trying to communicate in that language.

"You don't have to worry. We are in a space where nobody could until I completely reform from my master's body."

"Master's body?" I asked.

"Yes. Your earth big-brother. Riah Amakawa."

"That is big-brother's full earth name. Then how did you get here?"

"I am here because, just as we speak he is on his way here!"

"Really!" Full of excitement, I jumped through my mindscape.

But there was one thing that bothered me the most about that strange girl. Though she was sweet and kind, her expressions never seems to change. Just like big-brother.

"So, tell me how did you get into such a bizarre situation?" The strange girl asked.

"It is a long story but here it goes. I'd use sage magic to picture out every entrance and exits in this house. I even made up a plan to rescue all of my prison mates but instead of all of us escaping together. 5 people chose and betrayed us for 50 gold coins, which they could share 10 pair each person. But in the end the master didn't even obey his promises and immediately threw them into another prison." I said.

"Right so, the other prison mates grew extraordinarily frustrated about them, some haven't even spoken to them since. But in the end I was in the wrong, from now all of them have to work extra hard. And less food for us, this is all my fault, if I hadn't chosen to play hero, all this wouldn't have happened!"

"It is not your fault, and you know that. Let say if you didn't escaped but the master chose to today kill 10 members. You know today 10 members could have died, but when you tried to escape he realised that wasn't a good idea. Because, he now knows he has a genius among his group.

"Yeah! Thank you! Talking with you now, makes me feel comfortable already." I said.

"Do not worry. We would spend a lot of time together when the process is finished, which is about any moment now!"

And with that she faded away with the words "Rial is coming to save you."

Even though I'd never known who that girl was, I could just sense that she is extremely close to big-brother.

Rial's departure:

Rial's perspective:

Why are goodbyes so hard?

For some they are indeed the hardest thing they would ever have to do. The bear statement of "Goodbye, I will see you someday." Is somewhat the worst message ever, and to be honest they really have a solid reason why?

Goodbyes are hard. It is because, the person leaving may not see you ever again. That's because anything can happen at any time.

In society we struggle to make new friends, making us miss them more. And that's because you know if that person were there you would be laughing and making jokes every step of the way. I myself had to do that three times back when I was on earth.

One, was when I had to leave my nuclear family, another was when I had to leave my friends from Tokyo and the last happened when I stumbled upon someone.

This person could be the son of my step father if I stayed with my mother but I didn't.

I saw him walking with Yuki and Miharu, that was when I realised that I'd lost everything and had to say goodbye.

And as I made my way from the ship to the land, I saw all my classmates gather around to wish me luck on my journey ahead.

"Everyone thank you!" I said.

"You will be missed very much!" They said.

"Thank you all." I shouted this time. Because the ship had started to move, taking them back to the Northern kingdom.

The king made an instruction of the ship to stop near the border between the Moon kingdom and the Star kingdom. And from there I opened my phone and opened the map app. Which contained a detailed direction of the place I landed on. "It says to go right, then turn left in the intersection after that you'd have to walk straight for about 19 minutes to reach an inn. The dark will be approaching soon, and my stomach is killing me right now." I said to myself in a low tone.

Following the instructions I turned left and walked straight, until I saw a two sided road which took the right, because that was what the app said to do. From there, I saw a woman who was selling burgers. Having reached this stage I wondered: "If I buy food right now, the accessories that come from renting an inn suddenly decrease. Because I would be full, and so I can't enjoy my one night at that inn. "Well. I could simply just buy a fruit juice box."

The fruit juice boxes are groups of fruits that have been blended and mixed together. It is a form drink but for hungry travels, since they don't want to be full but temporarily satisfied. And so boom, I went there and got myself a mango, pine-apple and banana mix juice. I drank it slowly as I walked straight on the highway.

In this world the strangest thing people do is to travel on wood which is carried by four people, each by different sides of it. Some also, though normally travel by horses and donkeys. This was somewhat normal since even back in Japan, people still travel by that same process. Even though cars are around we didn't enjoy it as much, because the main difference between a horse and a car is one is alive and the other is lifeless.

After what seems to be about 20 minutes, I finally reached the inn I was looking for.

"The Star Gate Inn. Huh.'

I walked in and saw a beautifully decorated mansion, filled with drinks, food and other enjoyment, even at the back I saw a swimming pool.

I walked straight to the attendant on the counter. She wore what it seems to be a uniform, but it was way too short for it to be a uniform. She had red beautiful hair and pink eyes which elevated her beauty, for some reason I got the sense "This is rampet."

A rempet is a term used to describe a place which seems to be a place where people do things such as gambling, having intimate relationships, and drinking alcohol. And with that knowledge I asked: "How much will it cost for one night inn, and all the accessories that come with it." I said it in a way that she wouldn't misunderstand what I was saying.

"Oh. It would be 10 small silver pieces." The girl said.

"Thank you, ahmm." I struggled to guess her name.

"I am Julia Sendo." She said.

"Sendo huh!" I muttered. "Thank you very much." And with that I collected my keys and went inside to rest for a well.

After a well I became hungry again and went down stairs to get some food. I walked through the concrete stairs which made no noise. "Wow! This is well built."

But just as I started walking, I started hearing strange noises like clapping and shouting of names. At first I didn't know what it was until I remembered the day I went to Eigi and Ai's room. On that night I heard the same noise coming from there. And with that I finally provide my theory.

"This isn't even an inn but an rempest."

I ignored the voices and went straight to the dinning hall, which was filled with people waiting to get their food. When I went there, I grabbed a plate and went on the line. I had 12 people ahead of me but luckily there were 2 chiefs available. One by one the people ahead of me were disappearing onto the dining tables. Then finally my turn came, I ordered.

"Ah. Can I get white rice with chicken soup, a little bit of fried fish and an egg on the side."

"Surely alley kid." The chief said.

He went to the kitchen and poured out the perfectly cooked rice and chicken soup. He later took out a fish and placed it on the rice, after everything he then put the egg on the side. I got back my plate and moved to the dining table on the left side corner.

As I sat down, a second person also sat in front of me.

"Ah. Who are you? Oh! Sorry Julia Sendo."

"Do you call people by their whole names?" She asked.

"No. I do not. I only do that if the person is unknown to me." I replied.

"Is that so." She said amusingly.

"It sure is."

"Anyway I came here to inform you about some dangers here. There is something called the death magic ball. Essentially it is used to kill people, or that is what I have from people. They also say that the user must know your full name to kill you. Anyways this was what I wanted to say." She said and then right after left.

"So. Now we have a sociopath to deal with, huh! Quite interesting." I murmured.

I finished up my food and quickly went to bed, I didn't want to talk with anyone. "A 14 year old boy, travelling alone by himself." Now that is a tail.

The next morning I woke up to something strange in my bed. Under the soft fabric lies a soft thingy, but it wasn't mine.

"Or did they throw someone here to sleep with me then later collect money from me?"

With a heavy heart, I slowly removed the fabric from the girl I had quite seen, many times in my mindscape.

"So. She had finally awaken." Garmish said.

"Who is she?" I asked.

"She is someone who could protect you no matter what comes. Take care of her and help her get familiar with the world." Garmish said as he again went to sleep.

The girl, though asleep, clung to me. Her soft hands made physical contact with me but still I had no expression on. I gently woke her up.

"Good morning. Rial." She said.

"Can you explain all of this." I asked.

"I am a spirit contracted to Rial." She said.

"I see."

I used my rinne pure eyes on her but still she had no memories of her own, the only memories she had were of mine. Then as I looked at the girl, I remembered that I named her after I saved princess Flora from a long time ago.

"Do you need a name?" I suddenly asked her

"Not really. But I guess it will be weird calling me 'girl' the whole time." She smiled softly as she spoke.

"I guess so too."

"Ahmm."

"How do you like Aishia?" I asked her.

"I love it. Like Rial it means the moon, but mine is winter, which comes because most of the time the moons blocks the sun." She explained the mechanisms of which I used and picked her name.

"Yeah. But we should hurry."

"You mean to save Mary?"

With a smile on my face I turned and said: "Yep."
