Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Journey to the Forbidden Forest

Under Hagrid's lead, the two followed him into the Forbidden Forest.

As they walked, Hagrid asked, "What's on the agenda for today?"

"We can perform the Mind Imprint today. We trust each other enough now, and after the imprint, we'll be able to communicate telepathically," Harry said.

"What's a Mind Imprint?" Draco looked at them, confused.

"An ancient Dragon taming spell," Harry explained concisely.

"Alright," Draco nodded, this was already somewhat beyond his scope of knowledge.

Soon, his initial excitement was completely dispelled by the eerie Forbidden Forest, even making his steps tremble, held up only by a desire to see a Dragon.

Suddenly, he bumped into Hagrid, and when he came to his senses, he saw that Hagrid and Harry's expressions had become a little more serious.

"There's a smell of blood!" Harry said.

Hagrid squatted down, bringing his lantern closer, and Harry raised his hand, "Lumos!"

Instantly, a soft glow bloomed in the forest.

They immediately noticed the hoofprints in the mud.

"Hooves?! Are Centaurs hunting?" Harry asked, confused, but saw Hagrid's face flush red.

He shook his head seriously: "Not Centaurs, it's a Unicorn!"

"A Unicorn, is it injured?"

"Hmm," Hagrid nodded, following the hoofprints with his lantern, a little nervous: "I hope it's not him..."

"No, it won't be," Harry shook his head: "Logically, Norbert would never step out of that area without my permission."

Although they said that, both of them couldn't help but become nervous.

If Norbert really harmed the Unicorn, then things would be serious.

Thinking this, the group quickly followed the hoofprints forward, and before long, they found a silvery, moonlight-like trace on a stone.

This was Unicorn blood.

"Woof woof!!" Fang barked nervously towards the front, and at the same time, the smell of blood and some rustling sounds also came out.

The few of them quickly jogged over, the bloodstains becoming more and more, and Draco's face also turned the same color as the silver blood, looking at the two in front.

He snorted, as if cheering himself on, and followed!

Then, crossing a small mound in front, he was instantly stunned, only to see a pure white body lying horizontally on the open muddy ground.

He had never seen such a beautiful, yet tragic scene.

Fortunately, it was not yet dead.

Its originally slender legs were unnaturally twisted, and its mane, white as pearls, was spread on the dark fallen leaves.

There was no moonlight in the Forbidden Forest; the tree canopy here was too dense.

However, moonlight truly appeared here, emanating from the beautiful creature lying on the ground.

And... a black-robed figure hunched over the Unicorn, gnawing on it.

It wasn't the Dragon they had initially guessed, but something else... could it be a Werewolf?!

As soon as he thought of this, Draco immediately felt timid, but unexpectedly, Hagrid's hand on his side swept across, snapping a tree as thick as a bowl's mouth directly.

"You dare! Come to Hogwarts! Do such a thing!!"

Hagrid roared, charging straight out.

He snapped off the tree at the canopy and swept it directly across.

"Who?!" The figure, hunched like a beast, raised his head, his voice hoarse and deep, his face covered in the Unicorn's silver-white blood.

"Petrificus Totalus!!" From Harry's side, he directly flicked his wand, aiming at the figure.

It's a person! Draco realized at this moment.

Unfortunately, the figure was very fast; he directly dodged Hagrid's attack and Harry's spell with a flash.

"Leg-Locker Curse!" The next spell followed closely, directly blocking his retreat.

However, to everyone's surprise, his body directly transformed into rolling black mist and flew up.

At the same time, Harry immediately felt a sharp pain in his forehead, where his scar was, as if it was burning his brain and piercing deep into his soul.

"It's Harry Potter..." a voice came from the floating figure.

Hiss—

Harry endured the severe pain, made a ring with his fingers, and put them under his tongue, and a loud whistle immediately echoed through the Forbidden Forest.

Not long after, from deep within the dense forest, a Dragon as large as a small house emerged.

"Attack!" He pointed with both hands towards the black shadow.

Norbert, without hesitation, attacked the black mist, opening his mouth full of sharp teeth, and then, what greeted the black shadow was scorching flames.

"A Dragon?! How can there be a Dragon here?!" The person said in a panic: "This can be hatched?!"

"Go!"

"But Master, the Unicorn..."

"It's enough... Dumbledore will notice..."

Then, the black shadow actually withstood the flames, flew high into the sky, and disappeared.

"Bastard!!" Hagrid roared at the sky, and with a wave of his hand, the heavy tree trunk was thrown into the sky like a javelin.

Unfortunately, this attack was ultimately useless.

This was the first time Harry had seen Hagrid so angry; without a doubt, this must have come from the injured Unicorn.

"Hagrid, enough! He's escaped," Harry said, covering his throbbing forehead: "Quick, look at the Unicorn, it's not dead yet!"

Hagrid seemed to awaken from a dream; he quickly went to the Unicorn, and Harry, supporting Draco's shoulder, also walked towards the Unicorn.

The Unicorn was already dying; a large hole had been gnawed out of its abdomen, its flesh exposed to the air, and even its internal organs could be seen.

Draco's face was very pale, and his body was still trembling.

Harry, under Snape's frog training, had long adapted to such scenes.

He walked over and took out Dittany from his pouch.

"Here, Hagrid."

"Oh my, thank goodness. Harry, thankfully you brought these things," Hagrid quickly took it.

"That guy, was he eating Unicorn meat?!" Harry asked seriously.

Although he had adapted to such scenes, the person's actions made him feel a chill from the bottom of his heart.

"Drinking its blood."

After Hagrid performed basic treatment on the Unicorn with Dittany, he directly picked it up, tears welling in his eyes: "Good boy, don't worry, it's over."

Hearing his words, the Unicorn quieted down, closed its eyes, as if wanting to sleep peacefully in Hagrid's arms.

"Hagrid, I think this matter needs to be reported to Dumbledore."

"I know," Hagrid nodded: "But who was that guy?!"

"Quirrell!" Harry said decisively.

"What?!" Draco exclaimed.

Harry nodded; his forehead had started hurting again just now.

And the last time, it was at the Hogwarts opening feast.

That time, the only people looking at him were Hagrid, Uncle Howl, Snape, and Quirrell, who had his back to him!

Hagrid and Uncle Howl couldn't be it; Hagrid was the one who helped Dumbledore retrieve the Philosopher's Stone, and Snape had already been ruled out.

So that left only Quirrell, who stammered and even fainted from a Troll.

Yes, many older students in Slytherin had discussed Quirrell's strangeness!

"Really?" Draco looked at Harry in disbelief.

After getting a very probable answer, his entire face turned pale.

Making fun of Quirrell... he had done that quite a lot.

...

On the eighth floor of the Castle, Dumbledore looked through the window at the black shadow returning to the Castle, then turned and looked at the two letters on the table.

Those were letters from the Ministry of Magic.

The Ministry of Magic intended to initiate an investigation procedure against Hogwarts, because someone had reported Dumbledore for keeping highly dangerous magical creatures within the Castle.

In addition, there was another investigation document.

Targeting last year's Halloween Troll incident and — Howl Jenkins.

Dumbledore stood at the table, thought for a moment, and with a rather mischievous sense of humor, picked up a quill and added the phrase "illegal keeping of a Dragon" to the first letter.

He bet it wouldn't be long before Dragons would be added to the investigation procedure.

So he filled it in first.
