The fourth-floor corridor was silent. Harry's footsteps echoed through the hallway.
There weren't many empty classrooms on this side of the corridor, and there was a strong foul smell. Harry followed the scent and soon found the classroom where Fluffy was being held.
Looking at the tightly closed classroom door and the footprints in the dust beneath it, he understood that Quirrell had already entered.
Pushing the door open, a strong smell of animal feces and urine immediately assaulted him. The classroom was very empty, with nothing inside, but Harry still keenly noticed a tuft of animal fur at his feet.
Suddenly, he understood.
Although Quirrell had found a way to deal with Fluffy,
because Hagrid had promptly reported the situation to Dumbledore, Dumbledore had changed his strategy.
This left Quirrell with no opportunity.
Helpless, he could only report it to the Ministry of Magic, taking the opportunity to have the Ministry of Magic restrain Uncle Howl and Dumbledore.
As for what that changed strategy was, whether it was to replace Fluffy with an even more terrifying animal to guard the place, or if other arrangements had been made, he had no way of knowing.
Thinking this, his gaze fell upon the trapdoor. The trapdoor had already been opened, and Harry quickly walked over, only to see a dark and gloomy tunnel below.
He jumped down without hesitation.
Cold, damp air whistled past his ears. He fell downwards, then with a thud, successfully reached a cushioning layer made of who-knew-what.
He snapped his fingers.
"Lumos—"
The next moment, a piercing scream erupted, seemingly trying to burst his brain, and even directly interrupted his spell!
However, in that faint light just now, he had already seen where the screams were coming from.
"A group of Mandrakes!!"
Harry covered his ears, feeling as if his entire head was about to explode. He walked cautiously forward, but after only two steps, he was unable to continue.
"No... cast... I am a Wizard..." He thought with all his might. However, his hands had to cover his ears at this moment.
If he let go, he feared he would instantly be knocked out by the cries of these Mandrakes.
Testing casting ability... If that's the case!
With his palms covering his ears, his fingers began to lightly trace in the air.
"Incendio—"
Immediately, intense flames suddenly erupted on both sides, burning brightly. Harry's eyes looked forward, and he did not stop chanting.
"Blaze a path—"
The next moment, the fiercely burning flames, like a Dragon, spread forward into the tunnel. Before long, the crying throughout the tunnel significantly lessened, and after a good while longer, until all the Mandrakes were burned to charcoal, Harry finally released his hands.
After recovering for a while, Harry took an Energy Potion from his pouch and drank it. Only then did he enter the next room.
Mandrakes... one must know that the cries of these things can kill.
Harry felt goosebumps erupt all over his body, not even daring to imagine how terrifying the next obstacles would be.
After taking a deep breath, he pushed open the door.
Creak—
Intense footsteps suddenly sounded. Before Harry could react, a shadow lunged at him.
With a bang, a blood-stained dinner knife grazed his ear and embedded itself in the wall.
"That was close..."
He quickly backed out of the room. Fortunately, those guys didn't rush out.
Thinking this, he stood outside the door, carefully observing the situation inside the room.
Throughout the room, there were dozens of monsters: nurses covered in foul blood bandages, and spiders pieced together from various toy heads.
Besides these, what was even more alarming was a butcher wearing a blood-stained leather apron.
He was massively muscular, carrying a great knife taller than Harry himself. His head was covered by a huge triangular iron plate, making him look terrifying beyond compare.
Of course, besides these monsters, Harry also saw a group of broken stone statues. These statues seemed to be giant international chess pieces; Harry saw the shadows of kings, queens, and other pieces on them.
At the same time, he also noticed a severed arm of a blood-stained nurse. The fractured surface was clearly made of gray stone.
"Monsters Transfigured from something..."
"Those broken stones, are they the result of Quirrell's forced entry?!"
Harry's expression was solemn. He didn't think he could force his way through like Quirrell, and even... the bloodstains on these monsters might not all be decorative.
They could also have come from Quirrell.
However, Harry quickly discovered the problem.
These monsters, after he walked out of the room, all stopped moving.
"This is..."
Harry picked up a charred Mandrake corpse nearby and threw it in.
Bang—
Immediately, the surrounding monsters launched a fierce attack.
However, those attacks did not just land on the Mandrake's corpse.
A portion of the attacks landed on the monster Harry had thrown at.
"Sound?!"
He looked back at the Mandrake tunnel that had been cleansed by fire, and a vague idea began to form in his mind.
Thinking this, a Wizards Hand appeared silently, extending into the monster room.
And those monsters showed no reaction to the glowing blue Wizards Hand.
Clap—
He slapped a monster on the back of its head.
The next moment, two knives, three forks, and two sharp, ghost-like claws attacked!
Indeed.
With this in mind, he manipulated the Wizards Hand, clapping his hands against the corner of the wall. For a moment, all the monsters in the room became agitated and were drawn to the corner.
Only when the path ahead was clear did Harry attempt to enter. His footsteps were very light, completely failing to attract the monsters' attention.
Soon, he arrived at the next door.
"The sound of the Mandrakes corresponds to the monsters here..."
"So, do the monsters here... correspond to some mechanism behind the next door?!"
Thinking this, Harry pushed open the door.
Behind the third door was an empty and large classroom. In front, a small figure had his back to him, wearing a custom tuxedo, looking like...
?!
"Professor Flitwick?!" Harry tried to call out, closing the door behind him at the same time.
Is it a spell-related one...
"Professor Flitwick." Harry tried calling again, his wand aimed at Professor Flitwick.
Then, he saw the person turn around.
Harry walked over—
With a whoosh, Professor Flitwick's hand instantly released a spell.
Harry quickly rolled to dodge, and where he had been, there was a loud bang, and the entire floor shattered.
An extremely powerful Diffindo spell!
He quickly aimed his wand at "Professor Flitwick," but unexpectedly, the other party turned around again, with no intention of attacking further.
Harry suddenly remembered a game...
A game that could correspond to the characteristics of the monsters in the previous room.
Red light, green light.
"Who on earth made this obstacle course!!" He roared inwardly. He had just stood up when he saw Professor Flitwick turn around again.
Harry's half-crouching posture instantly froze; he dared not move again.
Sure enough, this time, "Professor Flitwick," after surveying the entire room, slowly turned his back again.
Harry quickly stood up; half-crouching was quite tiring.
The next moment, Professor Flitwick turned around again without warning—
