Chapter 9 - "The Guild Officially Activates."

-----

-----

Sam frowned. "So what's the deal with Kurama, then?"

"Wasn't he sealed? If he leaves the seal, doesn't the jinchūriki die?"

"That won't happen. In fact, no one will even notice he left the seal," Robin said calmly. "If we can't even pull that off, how are we supposed to survive as a Super-Dimensional Mercenary Guild?"

Sam: "..."

Probably to stop him from asking any more questions, Robin switched to notification mode.

"Ding. Three members of the Super-Dimensional Mercenary Guild have expressed high satisfaction with the guild. Conditions met. Officially activating the Super-Dimensional Mercenary Guild."

"What does that mean?" Sam's mouth twitched. "Are you saying I've basically been playing single-player this whole time?"

"As guild master, isn't building the guild supposed to be your job?" Robin replied.

"..."

That actually made way too much sense. He had nothing to say.

"And do you really think these past five years here were wasted?"

"?" Sam froze. "What do you mean?"

"Every world has its own unique traits: power systems, laws, rules, all of it. Outsiders who don't belong to a world are naturally rejected by it."

"As the guild master of a super-dimensional organization, you can't just stay in the guild or visit only one or two worlds. Your body needs to adapt to the laws and rules of many different worlds."

"Over the past five years, your body has already adapted to countless worlds across the multiverse."

"...Sounds impressive, even if I don't really get it," Sam said. "But yeah, it does sound badass."

Robin: "..."

Forget it. With your IQ, there's no point explaining further.

"Anyway," Sam said, no longer interested in the theory, "now that the guild is officially activated, what's changed?"

"Ding. Current guild level: Level One. Basic guild functions are as follows:

Sam: "..."

Was this basically forcing him to become a full-on privilege abuser?

...

"Huh? What's going on with this token?"

Inside the sealing space, Kurama was studying a transformation technique when the token Sam had given him suddenly started flashing. Thinking something had gone wrong, he quickly picked it up to take a closer look.

Elsa was doing the same.

She now had perfect control over her ice magic and was playing with her younger sister. When the token lit up, she said a quick word to her sister and checked it.

Feng Baobao, being a seasoned member of society, was busy eating and didn't notice the token at all.

That was only a matter of time, though. No one eats all day long… probably.('😄)

This is Sam, not Sam the Rock (Guild Master):"Attention everyone, attention. The Super-Dimensional Mercenary Guild has reached level one, and a lot of new features are now unlocked."

He then posted the list of basic guild functions into the group chat.

"..."

When Kurama saw the line about each member getting a monthly discount in the shop, his mood instantly collapsed.

Damn it. I totally bought that transformation technique at a loss!

┬─┬ノ( º _ ºノ):

If I'd waited, I could've saved a ton of coins!

Elsa, meanwhile, went silent when she read that members could use coins to optimize their abilities.

So the problem that had haunted me for so many years… could really be solved that easily?

After chatting for a bit, Elsa logged off early to spend time with her sister.

Kurama and Sam, being two guys with nothing in common to talk about, both fell quiet.

"Phew," Sam let out a long breath. "Finally, I'm not stuck here alone anymore."

Just as he thought that, the token chimed.

"Hm? Who messaged me?"

"'I Am Not a Pet' has sent you a red packet. Please claim it."

The notification appeared on his token.

"A red packet?"

Sam blinked. "Didn't expect Kurama to be so… considerate. I mean, as a beast."

Without hesitation, he claimed it.

"Congratulations. You have obtained Tailed Beast Chakra (Nine-Tails Version) and the skill: Tailed Beast Bomb."

"....."
