Chapter 6 - Vol. 1: Chapt. 6: Magnus & Gang

The situation worsened when a group of older students arrived—led by an aggressive second-year named Magnus Nevergrown. Magnus had a fair complexion, messy light-brown hair, sharp features, and a stern expression. Though only twelve, he carried himself with smug authority. At his sides stood Brutus Brute and Rudy Rudison, both dressed in similar scholarly attire, forming a formidable trio.

"Shut up, Magnus! You don't know anything!" Kayn shouted, his voice cracking.

Magnus chuckled cruelly. "Calm down. It's not my fault the Alabaster family is full of cowards and murderers."

"Just shut up," Kayn whispered, his voice trembling.

"Poor little Kayn," Magnus sneered, stepping closer. "I wouldn't be surprised if you're just like the rest of them."

George couldn't stay silent. Stepping forward, he shouted, "How dare you! Who do you think you are, mocking someone's future?" Without hesitation, George punched Magnus square in the face.

Magnus staggered back, stunned. "You… you hit me?"

"And I'd do it again," George snapped. "You can't judge someone by the past. He gets to choose his own future."

Magnus rubbed his jaw, smirking. "Nonsense. Rudy. Brutus. Let's teach these first-years a lesson."

A fireball erupted from Magnus's hand and struck George in the chest, sending him flying backward. The world slowed as energy crackled through the air.

Before Magnus could attack again, a shadowy figure materialized between them.

"Magnus Nevergrown. Rudy Rudison. Brutus Brute," a stern voice rang out. "Why aren't you in class?"

The boys paled instantly and fled without another word. George and Kayn turned to face a woman of striking presence. Though her aura commanded authority, kindness shone in her eyes. She introduced herself as Mrs. Anna Eberheart, the disciplinarian and assistant headmistress of the Academy. With firm grace, she sent the boys toward their classroom, leaving George and Kayn filled with relief—and curiosity.
