Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 What Did Mu Yichuan Do?

Xin Yu trembled at the rising intonation in Mu Yichuan's voice, followed by a faint jolt of electricity running through her heart.

Would he...want he want it again?

She was a patient! A patient who had just woken up that morning!

"I have no energy, I can't breathe, Mu Yichuan..." Xin Yu said, shifting her body. She didn't want it, especially not in broad daylight, and even less in the hospital!

Fortunately, Mu Yichuan didn't intend to either. He sat up, and seeing that Xin Yu also wanted to get up, he pressed her down.

"Lie down, don't move."

She has no energy and doesn't even know how to rest!

Xin Yu didn't dare to be disobedient; who knew when Mu Yichuan would suddenly have a fit!

"Where did you go this morning? Mu Yi'ai hasn't woken up yet?"

He didn't answer, reaching out to adjust the blankets on Xin Yu, his hand gently touching the bump on her forehead.

She sighed softly. That she-devil Mu Yi'ai was really something, why was she pushing so hard? "Love is like sand in your palm, the tighter you hold it, the faster it slips away."

Mu Yichuan raised an eyebrow, his thin lips pressed into a straight line, his dark eyes revealing his displeasure.

"What nonsense!"

It's true, Nan Yu has been running away all along!

Xin Yu was about to argue when she saw a flash in Mu Yichuan's dark eyes, followed by a slight movement of his lips, "So, I have to constantly nurture you, keep you glued to my palm."

...!

Xin Yu's eyes widened instantly. What was this man saying?!

Mu Yichuan reached out and stroked her eyes, "You were so certain just now, I think once a day isn't enough."

"Mu...Mu Yichuan!" Xin Yu's lips twitched, "I wasn't talking about you at all, I was talking about us!"

This guy, saying such shameless things so calmly and confidently, his skin is as thick as tree bark! He leaned closer, his deep voice ringing out, "No matter who you're talking about, my conclusion won't change."

Xin Yu blushed instantly, then quickly closed her eyes, ignoring Mu Yichuan.

Even when Mu Feng knocked and entered, she pretended to be asleep. When she opened her eyes again, it was almost evening. Xin Yu turned her head and saw Mu Yichuan beside her, engrossed in a document.

This was the first time she'd seen him so focused on his work for so long; he hadn't even noticed her looking at him.

His profile was resolute and perfect, his long fingers occasionally tapping the keyboard, occasionally writing on the document.

So he wasn't a god after all; he couldn't turn the world upside down with a flick of his finger.

Thinking this, Xin Yu felt a strange sense of closeness between them.

She looked out the window. Today was over. Tomorrow she really had to go back to the capital.

Noticing the empty cup beside Mu Yichuan, Xin Yu quietly got out of bed and walked out of the ward.

Firstly, to stretch her muscles, and secondly, to find an excuse to "bribe" Mu Yichuan.

Xin Yu unconsciously curled her lips into a smile as she carefully walked down the corridor. She stopped at the vending machine and chose a coffee and a milk…

"Mr. Jiu, dinner—" Mu Feng pushed open the slightly ajar door, but before he could speak, Mu Yichuan's gaze flickered across his face.

"Ayu?!" He frowned deeply. How could the woman who was just sleeping have vanished so suddenly!

And, more importantly, he hadn't even noticed!

Mu Feng was also startled. He looked towards the nearby restroom; the light was off, and no one answered the door.

Mu Yichuan kicked over a chair and strode towards the door.

He himself hadn't realized how anxious and worried he was!

"Mr. Jiu, don't worry, our people are outside," Mu Feng quickly explained, then ran off in another direction to look.

Xin Yu, holding a cup in each hand, was thinking about how to bring up the topic of returning to the capital with Mu Yichuan when she turned a corner and nearly bumped into Mu Feng.

"Ah! Are you alright?"

"Madam, where did you go?" Mu Feng was also startled and quickly took the cups from Xin Yu's hands. Fortunately, they weren't very hot.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to explain himself…

Before she could even sit down in the ward, Mu Yichuan returned, his hawk-like eyes icy cold.

Xin Yu's heart skipped a beat. Was he really going to play this on her? Why was it so unlucky?

She bent down to pick up a chair and looked at Mu Yichuan sheepishly, "I… I went to buy you a cup of coffee."

He didn't answer, taking a step forward and grabbing Xin Yu's chin. "Where's your mouth?!"

Blinking her dark eyes pitifully, Xin Yu mumbled softly, "I was just afraid of bothering you."

"You still have the nerve to argue? Hmm? Wrong is wrong!" he said sternly.

"Are you serious?!" Xin Yu was also furious. She had meant well, but the gesture backfired, and now she was being criticized like this. Her eyes flashed with anger as she stared directly at Mu Yichuan. "I just went downstairs! Don't I have any freedom?!"

Why did she have to tell him?!

She wouldn't say it!

"Freedom?" Mu Yichuan coldly uttered the word. This woman really loved freedom that much!

He wouldn't give it to her!

"Yes, freedom! I can do whatever I want!" Xin Yu shouted, "Whether it's out of good intentions or malice!"

He wouldn't accept her kindness, and she wouldn't give it to him either!

Saying this, she tilted her head back to avoid Mu Yichuan's hand, picked up the cup on the table, and downed the milk or coffee in one gulp.

"If you won't drink it, I'll drink it myself!"

How could someone be so ungrateful? Such low emotional intelligence!

She was so angry!

"Isn't it bitter?" He stared at the coffee stains on her lips.

"What?" Xin Yu didn't react immediately.

"The coffee from the vending machine, is it good?" Mu Yichuan's brow twitched.

Damn!

She finally realized she'd drunk coffee so late!

However, Xin Yu wasn't about to give up. She raised her head, her dark eyes narrowing. "It's good! Milk is even better!"

She wouldn't leave him a single drop!

"This is mine." Mu Yichuan was faster than Xin Yu, picking up the milk and downing it in one gulp.

"Mu Yichuan, if you're so tough, don't drink it!" Xin Yu glared at him angrily. Just a second ago he was angrily accusing her!

His face changed so quickly!

"Ugh..." Then Xin Yu's eyes widened again, utterly astonished!

What...what did Mu Yichuan do?!

He actually fed her a sip of milk, mouth to mouth! "Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey!" Xin Yu rubbed her mouth vigorously. "You...you're crazy!"

"I was afraid you'd suffer."

"..." Her lips twitched, every nerve in her body twitched, she was utterly speechless.

"No matter what I'm doing, remember to tell me before you go out next time." He placed his large hand on Xin Yu's head, reflecting on why he had felt such panic earlier.

Xin Yu didn't speak; she still felt this was no big deal!

"Don't you dare do that again!" she said, her face flushed. He was so shameless!

Don't you mind?

"Mind me?" Mu Yichuan lifted her chin, coldly glaring at Xin Yu. "I've eaten your saliva countless times."

Damn it!

That's not the same thing!

Seeing Mu Yichuan sit back down in his chair, engrossed in his documents, Xin Yu pouted and leaned closer.

"Want some more coffee?"

"No." He didn't even look up. "What you had in your mouth was enough."

Xin Yu's brow twitched. Bastard! Bad guy!

"Is there something else?" Mu Yichuan turned his head, seeing she was still sitting there.

"I want to go back to the capital tomorrow." Xin Yu glanced at him, trying to gauge his true feelings.

Mu Yichuan looked out the window, suddenly feeling his Vacheron Constantin watch vibrate. He stood up.

"W-what do you mean?" Xin Yu jumped up and down, chasing him to the door. This jerk, with a sour face, "But, can we go back or not?!"

Mu Yichuan had just reached the corner of the corridor when Mu Feng hurriedly followed behind, whispering, "Mr. Jiu, the old man is here."

"Hmm." He wasn't surprised at all. With such a big thing happening to Mu Yi'ai, how could the old man be at ease? He just hadn't expected it to be so soon. "Mr. Da is here too?"

Mu Feng paused, then responded.

"Is Mu Jian awake?" Mu Yichuan walked briskly to the elevator. Receiving a positive reply from Mu Feng, he stepped aside. "Have him take Xin Yu back to the capital. Leave now, and don't run into anyone."

With that, he got on the elevator and pressed the button for Mu Yi'ai's floor…

When Mu Jian appeared in Xin Yu's hospital room, she was lying in bed staring at the ceiling, mentally cursing Mu Yichuan over and over again.

"Madam, Mr. Jiu asked me to take you back to the capital."

"What?" Xin Yu sat up abruptly, looking at the meticulous Mu Jian in shock.

"Let's go now."

Now?

Xin Yu was even more surprised. She looked out the window. Was this man really that efficient?

However, she thought about it. Leaving now was safer.

"Mu Jian, are you alright?" As soon as they got in the car, Xin Yu sat in the back, observing Mu Jian driving.

This man has recovered quite well; from his appearance, he really doesn't look injured.

Mu Jian glanced at Xin Yu in the rearview mirror. Mu Feng had said this woman had saved him, pulling him from the doorway to the kitchen, then dousing him with water and covering him with a damp cloth.

"Mu Jian, you weren't knocked unconscious by the smoke, were you? Did you see what the other person looked like?" Xin Yu had been thinking about this, but Mu Yichuan had told her not to worry, the police were already investigating.

"Madam, don't worry, Mr. Jiu will handle it."

The same old excuse!

Xin Yu pouted, leaning back in her seat, looking at the scenery outside, then lowered her head and sent Mu Yichuan a text message.

At least he let her go back to the capital; that made up for all the cursing she'd been doing earlier.

Mu Jian drove while glancing at Xin Yu in the back seat. This serene woman, seemingly frail, possessed such strength and such a powerful heart under those circumstances.

Okay, he retracted his previous prejudice.

It seemed she was worthy of Mr. Jiu. She deserved his sworn protection.

Xin Yu had no idea what Mu Jian was thinking. Lost in her own thoughts, she dialed Liu Hen's number. "Hen Hen, it's me. I need your help with something."

"I'll send you two numbers in a bit. Try to locate and track them for me."

Xin Yu hung up and sent her stepmother and stepsister's phone numbers to Liu Hen, just as she met Mu Jian's gaze.

She gave a dry laugh. "Mu Jian, don't misunderstand. This is my own business. I... I've already spoken to Mu Yichuan."

Please, stop meddling!

"Look, Mu Yichuan's message."

Xin Yu looked at the message Mu Yichuan had sent. "I need a more substantial thank you."

God, she should have never moved the stone.
