Chapter 46 - CHAPTER 46: The Paper Execution

The atmosphere in the private VIP lounge of the Mumbai Stock Exchange was clinical, cold, and smelled of stale cigar smoke and desperate ambition. Rajvardhan sat at the massive glass table, his pen hovering over the final transfer documents. To him, this was the day he would finally eclipse the Khuranas. He believed he was buying 100% of the Seafront Project—and Reyansh's dignity—for a fraction of its value.

Across from him, Reyansh sat in a high-backed chair, his face a masterpiece of calculated despair. Beside him, Myra stood with her head bowed, playing the role of the disgraced, "unemployed" architect.

"It's a shame, Reyansh," Rajvardhan chuckled, clicking his gold pen. "To see the great Khurana legacy sold off to pay for a girl's structural mistakes. But don't worry. I'll make sure your name is mentioned in the fine print once I finish the hotel."

"Just sign the papers, Rajvardhan," Reyansh said, his voice sounding thin and defeated. "Let's get this over with."

With a flourish of greedy triumph, Rajvardhan signed the final page. "There. It's done. The Seafront Project—and the majority of Khurana Group's liquid assets—are now under my control."

The moment the ink dried, the silence in the room changed. It wasn't a silence of defeat anymore; it was the silence before a predator strikes.

Reyansh leaned forward, the "weakness" in his eyes vanishing instantly, replaced by a terrifying, razor-sharp clarity. He pulled a second, smaller folder from his briefcase and slid it across the table.

"You should really read the annexure of the shell companies you just bought into, Rajvardhan," Reyansh said, his voice returning to its resonant, freezing steel.

Rajvardhan frowned, opening the folder. As he read the first few pages, the color drained from his face until he was the color of ash. "What... what is this? These aren't project assets. These are... debt liabilities? Four billion dollars in offshore high-interest loans?"

"The 'soil density reports' Myra showed you were faked," Myra said, stepping forward, her voice no longer trembling, but filled with a cold, sharp authority. "The Seafront Project is perfectly stable. What isn't stable, however, is the holding company you just legally merged with your family estate."

Reyansh stood up, towering over the older man. "You didn't just buy a project, Rajvardhan. You bought every cent of debt I've been accumulating under your name for fifteen years. By signing that paper, you've tied your personal wealth to a company that is legally obligated to declare bankruptcy by noon today."

Rajvardhan's pen fell from his hand, clattering onto the glass. "You... you trapped me. You used her to bait me!"

"I used your own greed against you," Reyansh hissed, leaning over the table. "You thought you could destroy my father and buy my mother's loyalty? You thought you could use Shanaya to infiltrate my life? Every move you made for the last decade was a step into the cage I built for you."

Outside the glass doors, the news began to break on the financial monitors. VERMA EMPIRE COLLAPSES. RAJVARDHAN VERMA DECLARES INSOLVENCY.

"Myra, call the security," Reyansh commanded without looking away from Rajvardhan's broken face. "Tell them Mr. Verma no longer has the clearance to be on Khurana property. And tell his daughter that the wedding is canceled—the 'marriage contract' she signed was actually a confession of her father's insider trading."

The security team dragged a screaming, sobbing Rajvardhan out of the room. Once the doors shut, Reyansh turned to Myra. The adrenaline of the kill was vibrating through him. He didn't say "thank you." He didn't need to. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her flush against him, his mouth crashing onto hers in a kiss that tasted of iron and victory.

"It's over," he murmured against her lips. "The debt is paid. The ghosts are gone."
