Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: It Started With Twins

To be honest, I thought Ai would have a child when she was around 16, but that was my mistake.

In the original story, Ai's pregnancy period was about 20 weeks, which amounts to roughly 140 days...

Even without that timeline, I could infer from her actions, like suddenly making a sound and rushing to the bathroom while eating, or...

...when she complained of sudden stomach pain and quickly dismissed it with 'Ah, it's nothing~' if I tried to touch her, I vaguely realized that there were twins in her belly.

By the time Ai was almost 15, as her belly gradually swelled, when I considered buying a pregnancy test, she brought one from her room with two red lines, and...

...I couldn't help but sigh, looking at the girl before me, resigned to the thought that what was bound to happen had finally come. And so, time continued to pass...

"Ai... I can let everything else slide, but at least tell me the name of the bastard who got you pregnant."

"No."

"Ai."

"Even if it's you, Yume, I won't tell."

".........Sigh....."

Even though I already knew who the partner was, I couldn't just ask outright, so I kept pressing, but with Ai being so resolutely silent, the one who ended up raising the white flag first was none other than me.

After discussing with Saito, we agreed that Ai would take a temporary break from her idol life, and even Saito Ichigo was taken aback to hear that Ai hadn't told even me who the father was.

Frankly speaking, Saito seriously opposed Ai giving birth. The superficial reason was that Ai, still a minor and an idol, would be unable to continue her idol activities if this ever got out, but in reality, he was deeply worried, seeing the girl he cared for like a daughter facing such a tough ordeal so soon.

However, in the end, faced with Ai's firm decision and my approval as the final guardian, Saito didn't say anything more, and we concluded the matter by deciding to go to a quiet rural hospital.

Before heading to the rural hospital, I occasionally called in doctors under our contract to examine Ai's condition, and thankfully, until nearly 20 weeks, both Ai's health and the condition of the twins in her belly were reported to be very good.

But the hardest part was...

"Yume, I want to eat tuna!!!"

"Sure."

"Yume, buy me beef, beef!"

"....Isn't that too much?"

"No, no, it's not that I want it, it's that our babies want it!!"

"......"

"Please~★"

"Well... okay..."

"Yume~"

"Yume~"

"Yume~"

"Yume~"

From the day Ai's pregnancy was confirmed, she demanded different foods every day, and thanks to that, the one who suffered the most was none other than me.

The physical fatigue was minimal, but the mental exhaustion piled up day by day. Still, seeing Ai happily stroking her belly, I ultimately felt like a guardian who wished for her happiness.

When the day was set to go to the hospital Saito had found, as usual, I took the driver's seat, Saito the passenger seat, and Ai the back seat, and we headed to the hospital.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Saito went to handle the registration, and I stayed by Ai's side.

Fortunately, there were few people around, and whether it was because it was a rural hospital, many were elderly, which I considered a small mercy.

Saito returned, and the three of us—me, Ai, and Saito—went straight into the examination room, where I met Amamiya Goro, who would soon become Hoshino Aquamarine.

Slowly, Ai's examination began, and Goro first started reading a paper with Ai's information, while I handed over the previously diagnosed reports.

After finishing the papers to some extent, he glanced at me once, then looked at Saito and said,

"Are you the parent?"

"Ah... no, not me, it's that person over there..."

When asked if he was the parent, Saito pointed at me, saying it wasn't him, and meeting Goro's gaze turned toward me, I said,

".....I am nominally this child's guardian."

I proceeded to explain the situation between me and Ai. After hearing my circumstances to some extent, Goro made a thoughtful expression, and in the meantime, as Ai took off the hat she was wearing....

'Ah, this is over.'

Wondering if I'd actually see the scene from the original story unfold, I couldn't help but start to feel curious about whether he'd react the same way in reality... and whether he knew my thoughts or not,

"Do... doctor, how is it... Is there a possibility of severe constipation...?"

"If that were the case, she'd be dead..."

"No, since you already know it's a pregnancy, could you please stop running from reality by coming all the way here?"

It might be from the original, but you've been to our house every time for check-ups, haven't you?

"Ah, that part is going smoothly!! Today too, Ai's bowel movements were fine★"

"........Just shut up....."

"Yes~"

Seeing Ai give a thumbs-up with words utterly unlike an idol, I had to vigorously massage my head and neck with both hands due to simultaneous headaches and neck pain....

If I didn't, I felt like I'd collapse first...

"Le... let's proceed with the examination first... We need to prepare, so please wait a moment...."

"Understood."

"Then, can I eat Häagen-Dazs while... ugh!?"

"Saito, could you please cover Ai's mouth...?"

"Is... is that okay for a pregnant woman...?"

"..........."

Sh*t......

For the first time in 20 years, I felt like swearing inwardly. When I saw the original, I just thought it was a mess and moved on, but experiencing this firsthand, I felt like I'd go crazy.

Please come quickly, Goro...

*************

Third-person Amamiya Goro

Quietly slipping out of the examination room, Amamiya Goro was in a very, very flustered state, his thoughts racing inwardly.

'Waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait!? What, it's her!?'

Looking through the glass window on the door, Goro confirmed that inside, there was the girl who seemed to be chattering animatedly, a red-haired man who was said to be her guardian clutching his neck, and a man who looked like a third-rate thug. Then, taking another look at the girl...

'Whaaaaaaaaaat!? The real Ai is su~~~~~~~~~~per cute~~~~~~~~~~~~!!'

Thinking this, Goro pressed his head against the hospital floor, then...

'But that's not it!? My favorite idol is pregnant!?'

And looking at the window again,

'I'm so shocked, I feel like I'm going to vomit right here, right now!?'

"Ai... so you really won't tell me who your partner is...?"

The blonde... Saito asked Ai once more, and after pausing briefly, Ai looked at Yume and said,

"Ehehehe... It's a secret★"

"Ugh."

'A secret, huh!!!! Well, then there's no helping it!!!!!!'

Seeing Ai stick out her tongue cutely as she spoke, Goro thought there was no choice, but Yume, who was there, sighed, opened the hospital window, and held his throbbing head in his hands.

Ironically, Ai's partner was right in front of him, but the only person who knew that was Hoshino Ai herself, right there in that room.
