Facing the professional team before them, Murakami and Madame Gao immediately broke out in a cold sweat.
They knew their limits; even if they had some skills, they definitely couldn't withstand a single RPG!
"Everyone, retreat!"
Madame Gao glared at Murakami, immediately ordered the Shadows to fall back, then turned to the masked man and forced a stiff smile.
"It's all a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. There's an ancient saying : 'Friends from afar...'
"...must be slain if they pose a threat?" Darian suddenly interjected.
Madame Gao: "..."
The masked man didn't wait for Madame Gao to speak again, urging, "Stop with the nonsense. Transfer the money quickly. We still have another order to rush, and the client is already pressing us."
Are you bounty hunters or food delivery riders?
Seeing this, Madame Gao said no more, signaling Murakami with her eyes to clean up the mess he had created.
Murakami's face was ashen.
In principle, he shouldn't be afraid, but unfortunately, the principle was currently in the opponent's hands.
Finally, he took out his phone, whispered a few words, and then said to the masked man, "The money has been transferred."
"Good, remember to leave a good review."
After confirming receipt, the masked man, without any hesitation, immediately led a dozen masked strong men to swiftly evacuate the abandoned factory.
Their efficiency was astounding; truly a professional team!
It wasn't until the masked men had completely disappeared from sight that Murakami and Madame Gao dared to breathe a sigh of relief.
They could tell that the combat proficiency of this group was far from simple.
Each person's positioning was incredibly reasonable, ensuring they could launch an attack at any time while also preventing sudden assaults from the Shadows, even more professional than the NYPD!
One might think they were a special forces unit that had retired to become bounty hunters.
"Baka yarou!"
Murakami spat out a phrase in his native tongue with resentment, feeling utterly humiliated.
Madame Gao also looked displeased, trying to console herself, "It's alright. There's an ancient saying: 'Endure for a moment, and the winds and waves will calm.'"
"Take a step back, and you'll only get angrier the more you think about it?" Darian interjected coolly.
Madame Gao: "..."
Only you know how to talk back, right?
"This is all your fault!"
Murakami turned his full Fury on Darian, glaring at him fiercely.
He stepped forward and said to Darian with a sinister grin, "You'd best cooperate obediently, reveal your identity, and hand over the ledger you stole, or I will absolutely make your life a living hell!"
"My identity?"
Darian pondered for two seconds, then said earnestly, "I can only say that those who understand, understand; those who don't, won't understand even if told. The interests involved are too great, the Water is too deep, and telling you won't do you any good. So, now you know, right?"
Murakami: "..."
Madame Gao: "..."
Know what? Wasn't that just a bunch of nonsense!?
"You dare to trick us! Shine!"
A flash of anger crossed Murakami's face. He drew his katana, ready to give Darian a taste of something harsh.
"Good opportunity!"
Darian's eyes lit up. He suddenly broke free from the restraints on his feet and kicked Murakami between his legs.
Bang!
Murakami was raising his katana, his lower stance wide open and completely unprepared, instantly getting hit in the groin!
"Ah ah ah!!"
A heart-wrenching scream echoed through the factory.
Seizing the opportunity, Darian turned and bolted, laughing as he ran.
"You want to catch me? Not so easy!"
The Shadows tried to chase after him, but found Darian's speed unbelievably fast.
In the blink of an eye, Darian rushed out of the abandoned factory and disappeared into the vast night, the Shadows unable to even catch a glimpse of him.
The Shadows froze in place, looking at each other, momentarily at a loss for what to do.
Madame Gao was also dumbfounded.
Was this guy a rabbit? He ran too fast!
Murakami finally managed to catch his breath from the intense pain. Seeing Darian escape like that, he was furious!
He endured the throbbing pain in his nether regions and roared hoarsely, "Immediately continue to post a bounty for him on the dark web! Double the bounty amount, no, triple it! That bastard must be brought back!"
Murakami's subordinates moved extremely quickly, immediately posting a new bounty for Darian on the dark web, with the amount skyrocketing.
However, not long after the bounty was posted...
Murakami and Madame Gao heard a familiar sound of footsteps approaching from outside the abandoned factory.
The dozen masked men had returned, reappearing at the entrance, firmly holding the recently escaped Darian.
"Hello, this is your recent order. The person you requested has been delivered. Please confirm receipt."
Murakami: "..."
Madame Gao: "..."
"You guys worked hard. This is your reward."
In a secluded corner, Darian was happily sharing the spoils with the dozen masked men.
"Not at all, not at all. It was no trouble, just doing our job."
The masked men smiled and lifted their masks, revealing faces that were, without exception, all S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents!
Clearly, these were all actors Darian had specifically hired.
Several of them were familiar faces, the very same stock traders who had previously played the role of chopping up little Tony for soup. They were all seasoned actors.
Darian figured that since the bounty was just sitting there, he might as well benefit from it.
So, he used his Level 6 Agent authority to find a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents to tie him up, using himself to collect the bounty.
Then, he would escape with his solid skills, and after the new bounty was refreshed, he would have them tie him up again to collect the reward.
And so, repeatedly, endlessly farming bounties!
This wasn't exploiting a bug; this was clever utilization of game mechanics!
The only pity was that this mechanism was quickly patched.
Because Darian had run away several times in a row, and each time he was caught by the masked men, Murakami seemed to finally realize he was being played and stopped posting bounties on the dark web.
After several days of effort, Darian's bounty amount ultimately settled at 13 million U.S. dollars.
Considering currency conversion, this bounty amount could be considered a great pirate worth a billion berries.
Darian could barely accept this outcome.
"Agent Darian, if there are good opportunities like this again, remember to call us," one of the veteran actors said to Darian.
The other veteran actors nodded repeatedly, their eyes eager.
Seeing their reactions, Darian was a bit curious: "Why, are you very short on money?"
The veteran actor scratched his head: "To be honest, a while ago we all heavily invested in Stark Industries stock. As a result, that guy announced the closure of his weapons division, and the stock plummeted. We almost had to take on part-time jobs to pay off our debts."
Darian: "..."
So you weren't acting back then; it was genuine emotion!
After the Agents contentedly received a generous reward, they all left.
They weren't worried that tonight's actions would be held accountable by S.H.I.E.L.D..
Because all actions were within Fury's tacit approval. As long as a portion of the reward was handed over afterwards to serve as S.H.I.E.L.D. funds, Fury would choose to turn a blind eye.
