Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Ralts’ First Battle

Eliana turned back from the door. Her face was a perfect, placid mask. The woman from Yas Gym watched her, amused. "What's this? The new girl wants to play."

One of the men jeered with a crooked smile, "Little girl doesn't know what she's in for." he stepped towards her with a menacing fist raised. His little rat following close behind him giving a threatening hiss as it puffed up.

The other guy cackled, "She doesn't know how things work around here, Ekans let's give her a grand old Yas welcome."

Ekans gave Bo one final flick of its tongue before slithering towards Eliana, a cruel sparkle in its eyes.

The woman noticing her silence assumed Eliana was having second thoughts, she rolled her eyes before snapping out, "Well what's wrong little girl? To late to have second though now."

Eliana didn't bother giving the three a response. She simply raised the Poké Ball.

Elianathought that telepathy was a pretty convenient when battling another person. She wondered if there was any rules against battling without talking. Even if there were its not like she'd follow them.

The beam of light that burst from the PokéBall formed into Ralts, his orange eyes already glowing a soft blue.

The last mock what would be made by these three was said, "Oh so the new girl does have a Pokémon."

Before another word could be said. And before the three Yas members' Pokémon could even register the threat, a wave of pure force washed over the room. The Rattata and the Ekans were slammed against the walls with a sickening crack of wood. The Spearow was blasted through the front window, disappearing into the street with a final, indignant shriek.

The two thugs stared, their mouths agape as the shock washed over them. Their Pokémon were taken out by a single move and their target hadn't moved a muscle since their encounter started.

"No way, she didn't even say anything!"

"What kind of Pokémon is that?"

The woman's amusement was immediately curdled into pure disbelief. "You—"

Ralts eyes glowed brighter as it motioned its arms towards the stunned woman, who snapped out of it as she quickly realized Ralts' new target.

"Hey, wai—!"

A bolt of psychic energy, struck the woman in the chest. She didn't scream, she just… folded. Crumpling to the floor like a puppet with its strings cut, her eyes wide with a shock that would never fade.

Her companions, finally breaking from their stupor, fumbled for their other PokéBalls.

Ralts inhaled, and unleashed a torrent of ear piercing sound. It wasn't loud in the way a shout is loud; it was loud in the way a waterfall is loud. A solid, physical wall of force that struck the two men, lifting them off their feet and throwing them through the doorway, into the ruined street. Their forgotten PokéBall rolling useless around the restaurant's floor.

Silence descended on the small restaurant. It was a heavy, ringing thing. The only sounds were the whimpering of the children under the table and the frantic, useless thoughts of Bo, a storm of Oh Arceus, who exactly is this girl an orphan shouldn't be this strong. She just saved my family and my lively hood! What Pokémon is that, Did she just kill them? Good riddance, more trash off of the streets.

Eliana walked over to the Yas Gym woman's still form. She scrunched up ur nose before nudging the woman with the toe of her shoe. No response. She reached out to brush against the woman's mind, just unconscious, not dead. A miscalculation, that could not yet be the rectified, at this point she would no longer be able to say her violence was self defense. Next time they would have to aim for a more definitive result.

Eliana looked over to the two Pokémon still imbedded in the restaurant's wall. The were both fainted, however the Ekans looked more injured than the Ratatta. Most likely due to the super effective damage from Confusion.

Eliana then walked out to check on the two men that had been blown through the door. One had hit is head and was currently bleeding out from a gash on the back of his skull. After coming to the decision that he would probably die from blood loss if he wasn't healed, she moved on to the other one. This one didn't have any life threatening injuries, and was simply unconscious like the woman inside. She looked over the the broken window to see the Spearow still fainted in a pile of broken glass. Eliana shrugged and headed back inside, stopping in front of Ralts.

◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜ Ralts gave an affirmative chirp, coming over to hug her leg. Eliana reached down to give him a pat on his head. She then took out the PokéBall and recalled Ralts to it. The power was exhilarating, she hoped these people would give her more chances to use it. She looked under the take at the children's wide eyes. She then looked at Bo, whose face was pale with terror but also tinges of relief.

"You shouldn't have had to do that, but thank you for dealing with them," Bo graciously told Eliana, "Although I thought you weren't a trainer?"

"I never said I wasn't, you just assumed that," Eliana shrugged unconcerned.

"That I did... Yas Gym won't like this," he pointed out, looking back to fallen gang members, the words catching in his throat, "Those three are going to tell leader Yas when they wake up."

"Those two," Eliana corrected, "Unless you're going to help him, the third one will bleed out soon."

"I will not be doing that." Bo said in offense. Who did this young girl think he was, helping an animal like those three gang members, no way.

"If they want to come after me that's on them," Eliana said. She turned and walked toward the door, stepping over the fallen debris. "You can deal with these guys, this is your restaurant."
