Chapter Sixteen: Horses of the Dusk and the Temporary Escape

The next morning, Tula had prepared breakfast as usual. Edward asked while eating, "What will we do today, Tula?" Tula replied with intense coldness, his eyes never leaving Edward's movements, "You will learn to ride a horse, Master... It is time for you to acquire the skill of knights."

Edward's eyes flickered for a moment with an excitement he tried to hide. Shortly after, the horses Tula had requested from Silas arrived at the mansion courtyard. Edward was surprised and asked, "When did you tell Silas to bring these horses?" Tula answered, holding the reins of a pitch-black horse, "I sent word yesterday. We have an invitation to the auction tonight, and you must go wearing your mask. The heir of House Ferguson cannot arrive there except upon a steed befitting his status."

Edward replied enthusiastically, "That's a brilliant idea... let's begin." Edward spent the following hours learning how to control and steer the horse. Despite his body being exhausted from yesterday's training, the instinct for survival pushed him to learn with amazing speed.

After the training ended, Edward went up to his room, put on a long coat, and hid his face with a scarf and a wide-brimmed hat. As he was about to leave through the mansion door, Tula suddenly appeared out of nowhere and asked in a sharp tone, "Where are you going, Master? Time is pressing before the auction."

Edward replied with feigned steadiness, "I'm going out for a short stroll in the streets of London... I need to breathe some fresh air before facing those people this evening." Tula looked at him with a long gaze, as if trying to read the thoughts hidden behind that scarf, but eventually bowed and said, "As you wish, Master... but remember, the streets of London at this hour are not as safe as you might think."

Edward left, feeling the weight of Tula's gaze following him, but he was determined to use these few hours away from the demon's surveillance. Perhaps in the city streets, he would find a thread to help solve the library's puzzle or discover something about the enemies before the anticipated appointment
