Chapter 10 - Chapter 45 - A Glimpse of Humanity

"I choose the Human Realm," Ella said, patting Olivia's hair, ruffling it in excitement.

Haha! I know there's a better choice, but I have a feeling that a lower realm holds more anomalies and blessed people.

Ella thought to herself as she envisioned the possibilities.

Without hesitation, she made her choice, causing the system to respond.

DING!

[You have chosen the Human Realm. The system has bypassed thousands of its laws, allowing it to project the twin hosts into this realm at will. While you cannot interfere directly, you can select and bring individuals of your choice.]

[Time Limit: None.]

Moments later, Ella and Olivia's consciousnesses drifted into a trance, their vision shifting through countless scenes like a dream in motion.

Colors blurred and reshaped until they found themselves standing amidst a breathtaking landscape—rolling hills blanketed in lush greenery, the air crisp with the scent of blooming flora, and a soft breeze whispering through the towering trees.

Ella's eyes shone in amazement as she stared at the surroundings, as if they were back in ancient times on Earth.

"We are in the Human World now, Vivi. Let's go and explore,"

she said, staring at Olivia, who was slowly rubbing her eyes and replied,

"Eri, why can't I feel my hands? I feel like a ghost."

Hearing this, Ella wasn't shocked as the system had already explained that they were only projections, not real bodies.

"Vivi, you're right. We aren't in our real bodies—we're only here like a vision in a game, kind of like VR games,"

Ella explained vaguely, making Olivia confused since she had never experienced VR games.

"Eri is so experienced!" Olivia said in amazement, feeling ignorant about her surroundings, as she had been so lazy back in the day on Earth.

Hearing Olivia's compliment, Ella coughed while blushing slightly, then said, feeling knowledgeable, "That's right, Vivi! I've experienced it, so you don't have to worry—just follow me."

Olivia nodded and believed Ella's boasting completely.

Seeing the clueless twin of hers, Ella almost coughed blood—she herself hadn't even experienced VR games.

"I'm really getting ahead of myself," she muttered, shaking her head.

They immediately flew into the air to explore. As they ascended together, they noticed various demonic beasts below.

The creatures were low-level and didn't notice them, so they ignored them.

They flew at high speed, passing by many peaks and rivers.

They also spotted humans hunting boars, but they ignored them as well, wanting to explore cities or towns instead.

A hundred miles away from their previous location, they arrived at a small village with a minimal population.

Ten miles away, there were bustling towns filled with life, but Ella and Olivia chose to explore the village first.

" Let's start here, Vivi," Ella said excitedly.

Olivia lazily nodded, too tired to talk directly.

With that, they descended below and walked, passing through walls and people doing chores, singing, and children playing—running together, laughing happily.

Seeing this tranquility, Ella was filled with nostalgia throughout her soul.

"This place is really peaceful," she sighed, taking a deep breath, wanting to inhale the wind.

Unfortunately, she couldn't, as she didn't have a physical body to feel her surroundings.

"Ugh, too bad. I feel terrible—I feel like air myself," Ella complained but didn't voice her thoughts.

She also understood that their current state meant no one could hurt them, since they weren't in their real bodies.

With that thought, she shook her head, not thinking much of it, and walked past every house and hut they could see.

She also scanned her surroundings, wanting to see if there was anyone in the village worthy of being taken as a disciple.

An hour later, Ella lost interest, having not found a suitable person. She looked at Olivia, who was clutching her clothes groggily.

"Vivi, let's go. There's nothing else to see here. Let's head to the town ahead—it looks lively there.".

Hearing this, Olivia nodded, and they prepared to go to their next destination.

But just as they were about to fly, Ella noticed something.

Her gaze fell on a distance not far from the village, where sinister figures with decaying bodies emerged—twenty of them, while more were appearing from beneath the ground like living corpses.

"Holy shit! What is that thing?!" Ella exclaimed, startling Olivia. Olivia immediately followed her gaze, and the scene shocked her as well.

"Eri, it's a zombie! A real corpse moving!" Olivia said, staring at the decaying corpses moving in a group toward the village.

Ella ignored Olivia as she focused on the corpses that were now headed toward the village.

"This is bad. This village is done for..." she muttered, feeling sorry for the people below.

Unfortunately, they couldn't descend with their real bodies and could only watch helplessly.

An hour passed, and the decaying corpses arrived at the village, causing a slaughter.

People panicked.

The village head sent a message via a messenger bird, likely requesting help from the nearby town.

"Run! It's—it's a demonic corpse!" someone shouted.

Ella stared at the chaos below, feeling anger bubbling within her.

She clenched her fists, frustrated that she couldn't do anything. "Ugh! I want to kill these ants! How dare they?!"

Olivia felt the same, pitying the villagers, but she could only watch in despair as people perished.

"Hmm... they're so weak. They're so weak that even if I stared at them, they would perish in an instant," Ella complained, but upon closer observation, she understood the situation.

"Shit... it's not that the corpses are strong. It's just that the people in this village are incredibly weak!"

Ella wanted to help, but she had no ability to do so as they were only projections.

She also understood the system's rules—if they descended here in their real bodies, they would be suppressed, no different from a human, albeit with strong physiques.

Hours passed, and reinforcements finally arrived.

Unfortunately, the village had been wiped out, and the demonic corpses had already fled, as if they had anticipated the arrival of reinforcements.

"Ugh, it's so frustrating to watch! I really want to destroy those arrogant ants!" Ella seethed in anger.

Olivia felt the same, but they couldn't help. They could only watch helplessly.

Suddenly, Olivia noticed movement in a demolished house. As she moved closer, Ella followed.

What greeted them was a girl emerging from the rubble, covered in bruises and dirt.

When the girl spoke, the twins, for the first time, felt an indescribable emotion resonate with their real bodies.

"Mama... Papa... where are you? Please answer me..." the girl sobbed as she crawled out of the debris, trying to find her parents.

Ella noticed something about the girl's behavior and whispered, "This girl... she's blind. She can't see."

Hearing this, Olivia was shocked.

She stared at the girl, who was now patting the ground, searching for her parents. Olivia was dazed, feeling a surge of emotion.

Her real body fluctuated, transmitting her emotions, causing her physical self to shed tears uncontrollably.

This projection of her also shed the same tears.

"This... this is unfair! Eri, let's help her! Let's choose her, please!" Olivia pleaded, unable to endure it anymore.

She had suppressed her emotions throughout the attack, but now, faced with true tragedy, her heart broke.

Ella felt the same intense emotion from Olivia, but she gritted her teeth, suppressing her emotions.

"Let's wait. There are reinforcements. If they don't treat her well, we will take care of her. Though it isn't our responsibility to interfere, that doesn't mean we ignore her if we have the power to act. If they hurt her... we will take her and make those who look down on her face the consequences."
