Chapter 16 - 16) Kind Elder Homura

2nd January

Konoha Street

After receiving his rewards a few hours ago, Itachi found himself thinking about his next target.

At times like this, he felt as though he had become a serial killer from those movies and web series—people who were either killing someone… or on their way to kill someone.

After his strength had increased so greatly, his first thoughts naturally turned to Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzō. He could kill both of them.

Their strength was no longer a match for his, and their trump cards—the Dead Demon Consuming Seal (Shiki Fūjin) and the Reverse Four Symbols Sealing—could be easily broken by his EX-level Fūinjutsu.

Hmm… first, let's decide the goals for this year.

→ Completely eradicate the Hokage faction that harms the Uchiha

→ If possible, leave Konoha and establish an Uchiha nation

→ Travel around the ninja world

For the first point, Itachi began thinking who exactly belonged to the Hokage faction that endangered the Uchiha clan.

Hmm… the Sarutobi and Shimura clans. The three advisory elders and the Hokage himself. ANBU and ROOT.

His thoughts soon settled on a name.

Homura Mitokado

He is more militant than the Hokage he served under, and leaned heavily toward Danzō's war-hawk ideology. With his death, the Uchiha clan would gain far more freedom.

Danzo is also a good target.

As for why not kill Sarutobi Hiruzen, well Itachi had another use of him.

As for the second point, Itachi had genuinely meant what he said to Setsuna Uchiha. In Konoha, the Uchiha truly had no supporters.

And if Obito's and Madara's actions were exposed in the future, the Uchiha could forget about ever leading Konoha—or producing a Hokage.

Sasuke had been able to live in Konoha only because he was the sole surviving Uchiha and because he saved the ninja world, with guarantors like Naruto, Kakashi, and Sakura standing behind him.

For the clan as a whole, leaving Konoha and forming their own nation was undeniably the best option.

As for the third goal—traveling the ninja world—Itachi smiled faintly. In his previous life, he had always wanted to explore the world.

But, back in middle school, his mother had said, "Just pass with flying colors, and life will be set. Then you can travel wherever you want."

When he did, she said, "Just get good grades in high school—after that, your future will be secure."

The excuses never ended. If he contradicts her, then came comparisons to distant relatives who failed up in earning some good amount of money.

EXAMPLE :

"Your mother's father's elder sister's husband's younger brother's wife's aunt's daughter's son's friend's cousin didn't study well in high school, and now he can't even find a good marriage partner."

Before he could even take his high-school exams, he had been dragged into the ninja world.

This time, he refused to spend the entire year doing nothing but work, conspiracy, and bloodshed.

After settling on his next target, Itachi began considering when to kill him.

Based on the past few months, he had reached one undeniable conclusion—he was blessed by heaven.

When he killed Shinnosuke, ROOT just happened to be conducting suspicious activities that same day.

When he tried to framed Danzō, Hiruzen truly punished him—stripping him of ROOT and his position as Konoha's advisory elder.

Of course, Itachi had no intention of courting death just to test his luck…

…but perhaps he could frame Danzō once more.

"Hehehe."

At that very moment, within the Shimura clan hall, Danzō—who was venting his fury on his clan members—suddenly felt a chill crawl up his spine.

14th January — Midnight { 03 : 16 }

{The day begins}

Homura Mitokado was fast asleep in his residence. Today, the Konoha Annual Meeting would conclude, and the results of the election for the Konoha Advisory Elder position would be announced.

As one of the most senior members of the Konoha Council, it was only natural that he ensured proper rest before such an important day.

A faint rustling sound stirred within the room, but Homura did not wake.

'It's windy tonight… The curtains are moving more than usual, '

he thought drowsily.

Moments later, a subtle fluctuation of chakra brushed against his senses—yet even then, Homura did not immediately awaken, still trapped in the haze of sleep.

Sound Suppression Barrier Seal

' Chakra… fluctuation? '

That single thought jolted him awake.

But, before he could react, a heavy force pressed down on his chest.

Five Elements Seal

Homura's eyes snapped open.

His room was now covered in intricate sealing runes, glowing faintly in the darkness. At the same time, he felt a foreign jutsu gripping his body.

"My chakra… it's sealed—no, twisted. It won't flow the way I command it."

"My legs feel heavy… damn it. My body isn't listening to me."

In an instant, Homura understood his situation. This was either an assassination—or, at best, a kidnapping.

He recognized both sealing techniques immediately.

The barrier covering the room prevented any sound from escaping, while the seal on his body disrupted chakra molding entirely, interfering even with basic bodily coordination.

"Elder Homura,

"Wakey wakey. It's Morning."

A chill ran down Homura's spine.

The voice was young—male—and unmistakably familiar.

A boy addressing a man in his sixties like this could only mean one thing.

A psychopath

"Hey, don't be so scared," the voice continued casually. "I'll just take your life and go home. No need to act like I'm going to do something bad to you."

That confirmed it.

Since when did killing someone not count as doing something bad?

Homura looked at the clock.

{ 02 : 27 }

Homura then turned his gaze toward the intruder—and froze.

Shock flooded his expression.

And beneath it… a trace of relief.

Standing there was Itachi Uchiha.

Shocked, because it was Itachi.

Relieved—if only slightly—because it was Itachi.

"ITACHI," Homura said sharply, forcing authority into his voice.

"What do you think you're doing?

Is this some kind of joke?

Do you realize that invading an elder's residence and attacking him is a grave crime?

Release me immediately."

Homura was no fool. He fully understood his predicament.

But, by asserting authority, he was masking weakness—and more importantly, testing hesitation.

If someone was truly prepared to kill, no words, promises, or arguments would matter.

But if that resolve wavered—if the blade was raised out of coercion rather than conviction—then words could buy time.

Perhaps even negotiation.

Homura had known Itachi for years. He knew his thinking, his ideals, his dreams.

And above all, Homura believed one thing with certainty:

Itachi Uchiha would never harm Konoha.

And he was Konoha.

Which meant—

Itachi must have been forced.

A few moments of silence followed.

Seeing that Itachi remained quiet, Homura felt his suspicion harden into certainty.

He was forced.

"Itachi," Homura said, his tone softening, losing its earlier sharpness.

"I've watched you grow since you were a toddler.

I know you. You would never raise your blade against the village.

It must be that someone forced you… isn't that right?"

He spoke quickly now, conviction filling his voice, shaping each word carefully.

"Tell me. I consider you like my own son. I won't let you suffer like this.

I will solve your predicament myself—and if I cannot, then Hiruzen certainly will."

It sounded less like a negotiation and more like a wounded father speaking to a troubled child.

Now it was Itachi's turn to be confused.

Tonight, he had decided to liberate Homura Mitokado from his difficult life and become a warrior of liberation just like Luffy.

{ My bad—I know it's a bad joke… or maybe a good one ???}

But after silently dealing with the guards and ANBU using genjutsu and entering Homura's room, he had found the old man sleeping soundly—and that was when something evil stirred inside him.

Curiosity

In his previous life, Itachi had once watched a documentary about a serial killer who liked to wake their victims with the words:

"Little princess, wakey wakey.

It's morning."

It had somehow turned into a crude trend at his school, people greeting each other with the phrase as a joke.

The documentary had shown how every time those words were spoken, the victims would tremble, cry, and beg for mercy.

Itachi had wondered what would happen if he said something like that to Homura. Would his reaction be the same as those victims.

Thus Itachi MYTH_BUSTER UCHIHA became live.

Of course, calling another man little princess was disgusting, so he had altered it slightly.

Yet the reaction he received was nothing like what he expected.

Homura had first lashed out—and then, unexpectedly, spoken like a patient elder, even offering help.

If Itachi didn't know the true nature of Konoha's elders—how wary and suspicious they were of the Uchiha clan—he might have genuinely believed he was making a mistake by raising his blade against such a kind man.

From the very beginning, Homura had spoken of consequences—of the punishment Itachi would face. Then he had shifted, speaking as if he were worried for Itachi himself.

Not once had Homura begged for his life.

No "spare me."

No "I have an eighty-year-old mother at home."

No "I have six disabled sisters."

None of the desperate pleas Itachi had heard so often in movies and fiction.

Seeing the Kind eyes of Homura, Itachi couldn't bear to kill him directly.

So let's PLAYYYY
