Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: Deboning Knife

The little Boy named Da Yong placed the two teacups on the table and looked at Yukino and Sen Getsusa with an expectant face.

"Please drink! This is the tea Grandma and I brewed together. Da Yong can do things within his power now!"

The Boy's innocent gaze pressed upon Yukino, who clearly didn't know how to refuse.

Facing the small Child, Yukino dropped her cold expression and awkwardly stole a glance at Sen Getsusa—seeing that the other girl was ignoring her, she reached out and picked up the teacup, still huffy.

Thud—

Sen Getsusa moved her stool to sit beside Yukino and bumped the girl with her shoulder.

The teacup fell to the floor, and the brown tea spilled everywhere.

Crash—

"Hey!!" Yukino was truly angry now.

Her eyes wide, she stood up abruptly, staring at Sen Getsusa with her fists clenched tight, saying nothing.

She seemed to be waiting for the other to say something first.

Of course, Sen Getsusa said nothing.

Her long fingers slid across the tabletop, and then she unhurriedly picked up her own cup of tea and tilted it—the tea poured out onto the floor with a splash.

She stared at the Boy's increasingly bitter face, waiting for him to cry out.

"You're a bad person! You're a bully! Waaah..."

Seeing this, the little Boy, who had been happy just a moment ago, immediately started screaming. He curled up, squatted down, and picked up the teacup, clutching it to his chest.

Yukino opened her mouth, wanting to go over and comfort the Boy, but then she looked at the culprit beside her, her chest heaving even more with anger.

Glaring furiously at Sen Getsusa, she asked loudly, "Miss Sen Getsusa! May I ask what you—"

"Here. You can play with this."

Sen Getsusa suddenly pulled something out of her pocket.

A card.

Holding the card, the girl waved it in front of the Boy as if teasing a pet. Once she had his attention, she pointed to herself and then to the card.

"You can play with it, so stop crying. Big sister isn't a bad person."

"Big sister is bad! Big sister is bad!

Bad sister! Bad sister!

...Huh?"

Children always fall for this; once their attention was diverted, his tears and sobs indeed lessened significantly.

He curiously took the card—

Its texture was cold, and it felt strange in his hand.

What is this?

"This is a limited edition. Only super—super powerful people can get one.

Can you read?"

Yukino thought Sen Getsusa's Child-coaxing skills were truly clumsy.

She first asked if the Boy could read, then, at his pleading, promised to show him more cards later.

"Is this... a weapon?"

Da Yong read haltingly. Sen Getsusa curled her lips: "Bingo! You got it right."

The Boy held up the card and, by the light of the dim hanging lamp, saw the oil painting on it.

—It was a frost-silver dinner knife.

The handle was slender, and the blade was also slender; combined, their length definitely exceeded that of ordinary cutlery.

The tip of the blade was even slightly sharper than a dagger.

The line of text below was even stranger—Da Yong felt his heart start to beat irregularly, thumping away.

A feeling of unease.

Since he had transcended being a Mortal, he had rarely experienced such an emotion.

He took a deep breath, put on his innocent gaze again, and continued reading aloud:

[Weapon Card:]

[Sen Getsusa's Deboning Knife:]

[In daily life, a very wealthy lady.]

[She spends money lavishly, yet is stingy with even a tiny bit of Spell Power, unwilling to turn her poor little knife into a card—to save, the lady would rather keep it in her pocket.]

[It wasn't until it fell on the ground in a crowd and she was nearly reported to the police that she finally decided to "Dimensionalize" this weapon.]

[Now, it is no longer an ordinary piece of cutlery!]

[It is the first weapon used by the great Walker of All Realms,]

[the lady Sen Getsusa!]

[It shall be indestructible!]

[Note: Using this blood-stained knife grants a chance to receive the approval of a certain elegantly-mannered psychologist.]

[Note: "Indestructible" is just an adjective used casually.]

What does it mean?

Reading through it, Da Yong understood every word, but when put together, he couldn't understand anything at all.

He looked up, gazing ignorantly at the smiling Sen Getsusa.

"Big sister, what is this?"

Sen Getsusa reached out toward the card:

"This... is used like this."

The next moment, her fingertips touched the card.

Crack.

The sound of something shattering.

Da Yong noticed that the strange-textured card in his hand suddenly became scalding hot!

Immediately after, it turned into a cluster of light specks!

The Boy raised his palm and instinctively closed his eyes in the brilliant light.

This moment was seized by the keen Sen Getsusa.

Meeting Yukino's disbelieving gaze, a bright blade burst through the light and stabbed straight toward the center of the Boy's forehead!

Boom!

Bang! Bang!

Violent sounds of impact and explosions echoed through the room as thick dust scattered into the air.

Sen Getsusa turned into an afterimage, pouncing on the Boy like a leopard, her slender arms revealing streamlined muscles!

"You're looking for death!!"

The Boy's roar thundered through the dust, no longer the innocent voice from before—instead, it had a raspy, aged, and piercing quality.

A spike lunged in; Sen Getsusa tilted her head to dodge and nimbly jumped out of the dust cloud.

She warily held the dagger in front of her, her high ponytail swaying.

Sen Getsusa was a bit disappointed and sighed, "Just a little bit more."

By now, the helpless Yukino had been pushed to the wall. She saw half of the Boy emerging from the dust—the other half of his body was encased in pus and swollen flesh tissue, and from his face and neck down to his waist, he was covered in a dense layer of:

Fingernails.

Human fingernail plates were stuck to the Boy's body like fish scales.

Looking closely, one could almost distinguish some slender female nails and larger male ones.

His head was severely swollen like a giant balloon, with a thin, transparent fleshy membrane wrapping around a wrinkled brain hanging behind his cheek.

Seeing the human who was a cute Boy just a second ago transform into a monster, the terrified Yukino almost screamed—she covered her mouth, her palms soaked in sweat, her voice trapped in her throat.

Her wide-open mouth only emitted hoarse, gasping sounds.

"Get in the cabinet."

Sen Getsusa stared at the Boy while speaking to Yukino, who was not far behind her.

"You, how did you figure it out?"

Sen Getsusa gripped the dinner knife tightly and looked inconspicuously at the purple projection in her field of vision.

Since she obtained the land card, the "Profiler" spell had also deepened its detection capabilities.

Correspondingly, the consumption of Spell Power had become more expensive—this promotion indirectly limited Sen Getsusa's frequent use of it.

However, profiling the enemy was something that happened just before entering the house.

As for the discovery, she had smelled it long ago back at the station.

This Boy had the same stench as that "Girl Under the Lamppost"!

Sen Getsusa had originally intended to send away Yukino, this irrelevant person, and then return herself to eliminate (dismember) the danger.

As it turned out... that girl was unexpectedly stubborn.

Now, the situation was much more dangerous than if she were alone.

If this Ritualist was smart enough, the primary target would definitely be the girl behind her.
