Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

"Scare me? To me, you're more like an unknown gift." Lock approached Clementine step by step, his smile widening.

"A gift?"

Not seeing the panic and fear she wanted on his face, Clementine felt a hint of disappointment, but Lock's inexplicable words piqued her interest, and she drew her weapon from behind her back.

It looked like a short sword, but the blade part was a smooth cylinder, forming a sharp conical spike only at the tip.

This was Clementine's unique enchanted weapon, designed to work with her original martial arts, allowing her to stab at an enemy's vital points at extreme speed, then detonate the magic within, causing terrifying damage.

"Are you ready, my dear gift? I'm going to unwrap you now." Lock said in a calm tone, but his words sent shivers down one's spine.

However, to Clementine, it seemed unremarkable; what good was making threats in front of a master sadist?

Moreover, seeing Lock holding a longsword, clearly a warrior, made her even more fearless.

There were almost no warriors in the Kingdom who had reached the heroic realm; only a handful of people could barely fight her, such as the Kingdom's strongest warrior, Gazef, Adamantite-ranked Adventurer Blue Rose's Gaguran, Crimson Dewdrops's Lu-shanbeig, and the genius swordsman Brain.

And these people could only fight her; they would still ultimately lose at her hands. This was Clementine's confidence as a warrior who had stepped into the heroic realm.

"Take this!"

Lock unleashed his fastest speed, pushing off the ground so hard that he left a deep footprint, and he shot towards Clementine even faster than an arrow.

"Hm?"

Clementine looked at him with slight surprise. Even she couldn't achieve such speed without using martial arts. What exaggerated physical ability?.

In an instant, Lock was in front of her, his Dragon Spring Sword cutting towards her neck at a diagonal angle.

Clementine reacted quickly, immediately using the short cone in her hand to parry above her head.

Unexpectedly, after a brief clash between the short cone and the longsword, Clementine immediately retreated sharply, moving out of Lock's attack range.

Lock stood in place, unsurprised, a triumphant smile on his face.

Clementine glanced at the short cone in her hand. A single, simple strike had left a very deep sword mark on it, immediately making her highly vigilant.

It must be that sword. What a dangerous weapon. Her short cone was also an enchanted weapon, forged with mithril and orichalcum, yet it was damaged to such an extent.

Moreover, the opponent's strength was also very powerful; that brief strike had actually made her palm feel numb.

"I see. Relying on an excellent weapon and superior physical attributes is indeed something to be proud of." Clementine said mockingly, unfastening the ties of her restrictive black cloak with an extremely provocative motion, revealing her mature figure. "However, the gap between you and someone who has stepped into the heroic realm isn't so easily bridged. Now, let big sister show you a good time!"

Clementine lightly licked the short cone, slowly lowering herself into a crouched starting position, drawing another short cone from behind her back, her crimson eyes fixed on Lock, revealing a cruel expression.

Like a spring compressed to its limit, Clementine burst forth with extraordinary physical speed, closing in on Lock, the short cone in her hand, thrusting towards his heart.

Clang!

Lock immediately parried upwards with his longsword, deflecting her short cone.

But it wasn't over. Clementine's other hand, holding another short cone, thrust diagonally towards Lock's throat.

This continuous strike was excellent and incredibly precise, but Lock took a small step back, simultaneously rotating his body to the right, holding his longsword vertically in front of him, parrying the short cone, easily neutralizing the attack.

After a simple exchange, a storm-like close-quarters combat ensued. Although Clementine's dual-wielding weapons had an advantage in number, Lock's strength and speed surpassed hers, and the sharpness of the Dragon Spring Sword also made her quite wary. The battle gradually began to turn against her without her noticing.

With a powerful and heavy downward slash from Lock, Clementine habitually used her short cone to block, but her pupils instantly constricted.

Clang!

Super Evasion!

Almost in an instant, Clementine activated her martial art, sliding back a distance abruptly, as the cold gleam of the longsword sliced down sharply, cutting through the afterimage left in her original position.

Clementine looked at the short, the broken intwot,wo in her hand, with a grave expression on her face. She discarded the damaged weapon and drew another short cone.

If she hadn't reacted quickly just now, that longsword would have cut through her chest and severed her ribs.

She had one short cone left, and her backup weapon was a meteor hammer, but in terms of quality, neither was as good as that sword. She could only increase her evasion and avoid clashing weapons with him.

"What a pity, your equipment doesn't seem to be up to par," Lock said with a mocking expression.

"Don't underestimate me. Even if that sword is formidable, I'm not to be trifled with. Now, let me show you the true power of Lady Clementine!" Clementine once again lowered herself into that strange stance, her expression still bearing a twisted smile, but her eyes were much more vigilant.

Ability Boost!

Ability Super Boost!

Swift Wind Break!

Three powerful martial arts were consecutively unleashed by Clementine. Her body showed no signs of discomfort whatsoever, and she shot towards Lock like a gust of wind, her speed nearly sixty percent faster than before.

What Clementine didn't notice was that the moment she activated her martial arts, Lock's light red eyes suddenly glowed with a strange luminescence.

In the blink of an eye, Clementine had already rushed in front of Lock, her twin short cones thrusting out like lightning. Although the Dragon Spring Sword parried with all its might, Lock still seemed to struggle immensely, somewhat unable to keep up with her movements.

Scattered sparks flew like fireworks, and Lock's footsteps retreated step by step.

"What's wrong! Weren't you very arrogant just now?"

"To dare confront me, Clementine, and only be capable of this much?"

Clementine wantonly vented her tyrannical emotions, her expression growing even more ferocious.

Suddenly, a thrusting short cone struck the center of the Dragon Spring Sword's blade. The force, amplified by her extreme speed, was immense, causing Lock's movements to shift slightly, leaving his guard wide open.

What an opportunity!

Clementine's crimson eyes immediately lit up, and the other short cone in her hand thrust fiercely towards Lock's sword-wielding right shoulder.

As long as she pierced the enemy's sword-arm shoulder, destroying the bone connections, then this handsome little brother would be at her mercy.

Clementine showed a cruel smile. First, cripple his limbs, then smash that face, and finally rip out his tongue. That would surely be very interesting!

But the next moment, the smile on her face froze.

Martial Art: Fortress!

A layer of energy instantly enveloped Lock's entire body. Clementine's short cone struck this energy shield, immediately rebounding, causing her footsteps to falter.
