Alexis POV
I glanced at my reflection as I put on my black leather jacket and boots. Was I really doing this? I guess so. I grabbed the letter from the hallway table along with my keys and Step out into the cool night air. Blackspire Keep was around 30 minutes walk from where my apartment was located. An old battlement a testament to the historic town.
As I walked through the silent streets, darkness developing the shadows of alleyways I couldn't help but feel As though was being watched. 20 minutes later, I stop at the gate to the park the Shadow outline of the Keep against Star filled sky. The only way to keep was through the unlit pathways of Blackspire park.
Sucking in a deep breath, I push forward the feeling of being watched growing more intense as I step away from the light of streetlights. As my destination looms nearer I hear a snap of a twig. Heavy footsteps behind me. I dull panic rises within me. I spin around to see the shadowy outline of a tall figure in silhouette against the sky. I freeze something about his presence feels familiar. Danger radiates from him.
"Finally all grown up." His voice is cool with an edge of amusement. It is him. Like a switch in my mind flicked I turn to run in the opposite direction. Only to find as I spin around he is there. But he can't be? It's not possible. I spin to run the other direction but he is there too! A low rumble of laughter leaves him. I stand frozen in terror and like a flash he is in front of me his hand curling around my neck. He bends his face to sniff at the left side of my throat.
"Your blood smells Devine." I shudder and release a panicked scream as I feel something sharp piece into my neck. My vision swims and blurs before finally going dark.
