Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

"Amano Sora, that's way too much food. There's no way we can finish all of this…"

Uraraka Ochaco stared at the mountain of dishes in front of them, her voice weak with disbelief as she clutched her tray.

Beside her, Iida Tenya adjusted his glasses and nodded solemnly.

"Indeed. Wasting food is a serious matter. This amount is far beyond what an average student can consume."

Hearing their words, Toru Hagakure couldn't help covering her mouth as she laughed quietly.

Midoriya scratched his head awkwardly.

"Um… actually, Uraraka, Iida… all of this is for Amano Sora alone."

"…Huh?"

Uraraka froze.

"All of it?"

Iida's eyes widened behind his glasses.

"That amount could easily feed more than ten grown adults!"

Midoriya twitched. No… even twenty wouldn't be enough…

He suddenly recalled the last time All Might had taken them out to eat. Sora had politely asked if they were full, then calmly finished everything left on the table.

That restaurant hadn't reopened that night.

"Haha, it's because of my Quirk," Sora said with an easy smile. "My energy consumption is… a little high."

"A little?" Uraraka repeated weakly.

Iida nodded thoughtfully.

"I've heard of Quirks that drastically increase metabolism. There was once a report of a young girl who could eat fifty servings in one meal and not need to eat again for half a month."

"…Is that what's happening here?" Uraraka asked.

"More or less," Sora replied casually.

In truth, it was far worse.

He ate enough in one meal to feed a hundred people—and did that two or three times a day.

But he didn't bother explaining.

Moments later, Uraraka and Iida stared blankly as the entire table was cleared.

Completely.

Not a grain of rice left.

"Student Amano…" Uraraka asked carefully, "…do you use your Quirk while eating?"

Before Sora could answer, Iida straightened up and spoke with certainty.

"Of course! That must be part of his training regimen! An extremely efficient method of improving physical endurance!"

Toru covered her mouth, laughing.

"Nope. He just eats a lot."

"…Oh."

Uraraka and Iida stared at the clean table in stunned silence.

Sora shrugged.

"Pretty much."

Then, in a flash of golden light, he vanished.

A moment later—

"Lunch Rush, another table please."

The chef stared at him, then silently gave a thumbs-up.

As a professional cook, there was nothing more satisfying than watching someone truly enjoy their food.

And Sora?

He was every chef's dream customer.

When he returned with yet another table of food, the surrounding students were completely speechless.

Bakugo, who had once considered challenging Sora in an "appetite duel," quietly looked down at his own half-finished meal… and gave up.

At this point, Sora had already eaten more than the entire class combined.

By noon, the legend of "U.A.'s Bottomless Stomach" had spread through the cafeteria.

After School

The rest of the day passed normally.

Textbooks were distributed.

Schedules were handed out.

Students chatted and got to know one another.

When classes ended, most students headed home in small groups.

Sora and Toru, as usual, left together.

"Ready?" Sora asked.

"Mm!" Toru nodded.

He scooped her up effortlessly, and she instinctively leaned into him.

A golden flash erupted.

The world slowed to a crawl.

Wind froze.

Dust hung motionless in the air.

Time itself seemed to pause.

Sora sprinted forward, carrying Toru as the Speed Force wrapped around them.

Yet as he ran, a strange sensation stirred in his chest.

…Wait.

He glanced down at Toru.

For a brief moment, it felt as though he could pull her fully into his world—into the realm of speed itself.

Not just shielding her…

But bringing her with him.

The thought sent a chill down his spine.

He tried.

Nothing happened.

The Speed Force merely wrapped around her body, protecting her from wind and inertia, but refusing to draw her in.

"…Not fast enough," Sora murmured.

If he went any faster, their clothes would ignite from friction. Even now, sparks danced faintly around his shoes.

Still…

If I get fast enough…

Could I give someone else the Speed Force?

The idea terrified him.

If someone like All Might were granted speed on top of his strength…

The result would be catastrophic.

Sora shook his head, dispelling the thought.

That was far beyond his current limits.

For now, he focused forward, weaving through the frozen world as golden lightning trailed behind him.
