David didn't care about her protests. He rose from his seat quickly, grabbing Cindy's wrist to pull her to her feet.
"We'll take our leave, see you again," David said hurriedly, his tone sounding like a forced apology as he kept pulling Cindy away.
"Wait, Kak David, I haven't finished my drink yet," Cindy whined, forced to follow David's fast pace as her body was dragged away. She still managed to glance back at the table with a look of regret, feeling it was a waste to leave behind the milkshake she hadn't touched, and an even bigger waste to leave Jonathan behind.
As soon as David and Cindy disappeared from view, Zee felt as if a heavy burden had been lifted. She let out a long, heavy sigh, signaling her relief.
