Chapter 422 - Zirconis Absorbed

Zirconis.

The exact moment Finn's Take Over magic flooded into the colossal skeleton, the ancient name etched itself directly into his consciousness. It was Zirconis, the Jade Dragon.

Jade, huh?

To most people, jade was nothing more than an ornamental stone—a tough, dense mineral primarily used for carving jewelry, statues, and decorative hilts, divided scientifically into nephrite and jadeite.

Frankly, most mages would immediately question its combat viability. Is a fancy rock actually powerful?

If Finn hadn't retained the knowledge of his past life, he might have been skeptical too. After all, jade was just jade. But Finn knew the lore. He knew exactly what Zirconis was capable of. The Jade Dragon possessed a highly unique, deeply humiliating ability: the power to instantly strip people naked.

If Finn had to compare it to the world of his High School DxD counterpart, it was identical to Issei Hyoudou's infamous Dress Break. But unlike that perverted technique, Zirconis's magic didn't require direct physical contact. A single, sweeping breath was enough to instantly obliterate all clothing and armor within its radius.

Most people would dismiss this as a joke or a purely perverted gimmick. Cultured men might imagine a hundred entertaining, late-night uses for it. But Finn looked at it through the lens of combat.

Being naked in a war zone was infinitely more dangerous than being clothed.

Stripping away an opponent's garments meant instantly erasing all of their defensive advantages. Take Erza, for example. Her entire combat style revolved around Requip Magic. If Finn hit her with Jade Dragon Slayer Magic, completely neutralizing her ability to manifest magical armor, her combat potential would plummet instantly. If he developed the concept even further, it was entirely possible he could use it to completely disintegrate an opponent's weapons, too.

But how does the 'Jade' element actually accomplish that?

Jade was just a rock, so how did it conceptually translate into stripping armor? Finn quickly formulated two hypotheses.

First, there was the historical aspect. Long before the Iron Age, before humanity mastered the forge, jade was the ultimate material for crafting weapons. It was easier to shape than metal, yet possessed a toughness that rivaled diamond; it didn't shatter or brittle easily. Therefore, the Jade Dragon's magic essentially forced its victims to regress back to the Stone Age. It stripped away mankind's technological advancements—textiles, chainmail, steel—forcing them to fight the dragon on its own, primal terms.

Second, there was the philosophical aspect. In Eastern philosophy, jade was revered as the ultimate symbol of honesty, absolute purity, and undeniable truth.

In the presence of flawless jade, one could not hide their internal flaws. Thus, the Jade Dragon's power enforced "absolute honesty" upon its targets. By violently stripping away armor, clothing, visual illusions, and likely even stat buffs or enchantments, the magic forced the opponent into their rawest, most vulnerable state. It punished artifice and stripped away the "lies" a mage used to make themselves stronger.

Ultimately, Finn felt this magic stemmed directly from Zirconis's draconic arrogance. Dragons relied entirely on their natural, biological supremacy—their scales, claws, and elemental breath. They viewed human reliance on forged weapons and complex magical enchantments as a pathetic sign of weakness. Zirconis's magic was the literal manifestation of that pride: a spell designed to erase human ingenuity, leaving the prey completely soft, bare, and defenseless.

"W-What just happened?!" Sorano gasped, completely dumbfounded as the colossal skeleton simply vanished into light.

"Nothing to worry about. I just absorbed this dragon's power," Finn stated calmly, flexing his fingers.

"..."

Sorano, Meredy, Ultear, and Flare stared at him in absolute silence.

HOW?!

A massive question mark practically materialized over their heads, but they had long since learned not to question the absurd limits of Finn's capabilities.

Meredy stepped forward, her curiosity overriding her shock. "So... you just acquired something similar to Dragon Slayer Magic?"

"That's right," Finn nodded.

"What element is it?" Meredy asked eagerly.

Among all Slayer-type magics, the element defined the mage. Natsu wielded fire, Laxus manipulated lightning, Erik commanded poison, and Gajeel forged iron. What element had Finn just claimed?

"It's Jade."

To demonstrate, Finn held up his right hand. A subtle hum filled the cavern as his skin, muscle, and bone seamlessly transmuted into a breathtakingly beautiful, translucent green jade.

"Jade?!"

Flare cautiously stepped closer. Reaching out, she gently tapped her knuckles against the back of his transformed hand. A sharp, resonant clink echoed through the cave, highlighting the dense, stone-like texture. Yet, surprisingly, the jade still radiated Finn's natural body heat.

"It's incredibly hard," Flare murmured in awe.

"Don't touch the edges too carelessly," Finn warned softly. "It's razor-sharp."

It was his first time channeling this specific element. Even with the Manager actively running background calibrations, he needed a little time to master the fine control required to ensure he didn't accidentally slice his own women to ribbons.

"Is it really that sharp?" Ultear asked, examining the translucent sheen.

"It is," Finn confirmed. "Before humans discovered how to smelt bronze and forge iron, normal people used jade as their primary weaponry."

"But is it actually powerful in a fight?" Ultear pressed. That was the only metric that truly mattered.

"Hmm..." Finn considered the question for a moment. "Every element has its own distinct advantages and disadvantages. I wouldn't call it completely absolute, but without a doubt, I can make this better than the Iron Dragon Slayer's magic."

"Huh? Better than Gajeel's?"

"Think about it," Finn explained, holding up his jade hand. "If you expose iron to extreme heat, it melts. If you strike it with lightning, it conducts the electricity directly into the user's body. But jade is an absolute insulator. It won't melt under standard magical fire, and it's completely immune to electrical currents. Furthermore, it possesses an incredible structural density, allowing it to absorb massive, blunt-force trauma without shattering, bending, or denting like metal."

Finn swiped his hand through the air, leaving a faint green trail. "If I manipulate this jade into a blade, I can maintain a microscopic, razor-sharp edge that simply never dulls in combat. It carries the heavy, crushing mass of solid stone, but with a cutting edge capable of slicing straight through armor that would normally bend a steel sword. And if I coat my entire body in it? It's the equivalent of wearing impenetrable, magical Kevlar."

"That sounds powerful," Ultear noted, impressed. "So what are its weaknesses?"

"Rigidity, most likely," Finn theorized. "Unlike iron, which can be heated and molded into practically any shape imaginable, the constructs I can create with jade will be somewhat limited. I'll probably just stick to forming simple, unbreakable sword-arms or blunt gauntlets."

Nothing in the world was entirely perfect. But it hardly mattered; Jade was simply one more tool in an already overflowing arsenal.

"You can manipulate optical illusions, hijack bodies, see everything through a network of birds, summon a saber of light, possess monstrous physical strength, and now you have the absolute defense of a Jade Dragon?" Meredy counted them off on her fingers. "Aren't you basically invincible at this point?"

"Nothing is truly invincible. Everything has at least one or two fatal weaknesses," Finn replied smoothly.

"Oh? What is your weakness, then?" Meredy asked, leaning in with a playful smirk.

Finn looked at the four stunning women surrounding him. "Beautiful women. I simply can't stop myself from getting too close to them."

"....."

All four of them instantly flushed crimson, completely derailed by the smooth, shameless delivery. Was he seriously joking at a time like this?!

Before they could recover, Finn seamlessly shifted the topic.

"You know, there is actually one more unique ability the Jade Dragon possesses. Would you girls like to test it out?"

"Okay...?" Sorano answered hesitantly, intrigued but slightly suspicious of his suspicious smile.

"Excellent. But let's test it back at the hotel."

Though they were thoroughly confused, they obediently followed him out of the ancient graveyard and back up to the surface.

Thirty minutes later, the heavy doors of the luxury penthouse suite clicked shut behind them.

The moment they were safely inside, Finn turned to face them, a deeply wicked smile crossing his face. He channeled the newly acquired draconic magic, locking onto the concept of absolute, unhidden truth.

"Garment Banished!"

A pulse of emerald magical energy washed over the room. In a fraction of a second, the fabric covering Flare, Meredy, Sorano, and Ultear simply ceased to exist, completely disintegrating into thin air!

"Huh?!"

"KYAAA!"

"F-Finn-sama!"

Four synchronized, startled cries echoed through the lavish suite as the women suddenly realized they were completely, entirely naked.

"Now," Finn announced, stepping toward them as his own coat hit the floor. "The real fun begins."

They might have cried out in surprise as they instinctively tried to cover themselves, but as Finn closed the distance, the deep, heavy blushes on their faces made one thing abundantly clear: they were incredibly, undeniably happy.
