Chapter 5 - Chapter 5:The silence before judgement

Broko

Status (Start):

Physically restrained

Ki partially suppressed

Effective Power (Restricted): ~7.9 million

Pain had become familiar.

Captivity had not.

Broko floated in magnetic suspension within Cooler's transport vessel, his body pierced by suppression pylons tuned specifically to Saiyan neural response and ki circulation.

They were elegant. Cold. Efficient.

Cooler's technology did not aim to torture.

It aimed to end possibilities.

But Cooler's squadron had made a mistake.

They stopped.

The Refueling Outpost

The station was old, pre-Cold Dynasty, repurposed and automated.

A skeletal lattice of metal and energy coils orbiting a blue dwarf star, siphoning exotic particles to replenish long-range power cores..

Protocol demanded the prisoners remain restrained.

Protocol did not account for Broko.

The Break Begins Quietly

Broko did not force his restraints.

He listened

The hum of the ship's power grid.

The rhythm of coolant circulation.

The micro-delays in the suppression field's pulse.

Stolen magic whispered answers.

Using a microscopic Astrae manipulation so small it didn't register as hostile,

Broko nudged energy flow out of alignment.

One conduit.

Then another.

Nothing exploded.

Nothing alerted.

The ship continued refueling.

And its heart slowly destabilized.

Sabotage Without Detection

Broko waited.

Minutes.

Hours.

When the power grid rerouted automatically, he struck.

A controlled ki spike, compressed and directional, passed through the floor and severed a redundant stabilizer node.

The ship felt fine.

But it was dying.

Escape

Emergency protocols activated two hours later.

Not alarms, procedures.

Broko used the momentary fluctuation in suppression strength to move.

He ripped free.

Not violently.

Efficiently.

Two grunt guards died before understanding what happened

Broko did not fight the squadron again.

That was not the goal.

He found an escape pod.

Old.

Manual.

Perfect.

Coordinates Input: RANDOMIZED

Broko smiled faintly as the pod ejected.

Cooler will think I ran.

Good..

Reality folded around the pod he Broko infused his ki into the ship to take it with him Between Worlds

Drifting through the multiversal seam, Broko reviewed his hunts.

Solarion.

Apex Prime.

Different templates.

Same flaw.

They were given power.

They relied on systems, divine archetypes, or narrative privilege, never struggling.

They did not train.

They did not bleed.

They waited for reality to reward them.

Drama queens and wannabe tough guys , Broko thought coldly.

Cosmic parasites.

His philosophy sharpened.

New Target Criteria:

System-reliant growth

No self-driven training

Abuse of foreknowledge

Desire for validation, authority, or superiority

The multiverse answered.

World Identified

An alternative reality of the Mcu similar, but distorted.

Heroes were public, politicized, commercialized.

Fear drove legislation.

And at the center of it

A reincarnated being hiding behind patriotism and policy.

Arrival: Four Months Before Civil War

Broko emerged high above Earth outer atmosphere .

This world's atmosphere was familiar but thinner in mana

He suppressed his ki completely and descended unnoticed.

A World on the Brink he must be cautious.

The Avengers existed here.

So did the SHIELD guys

But things were… worse.

Public distrust simmered.

Media pressure intensified.

Governments circled like vultures.

Broko felt it in the background radiation of collective fear.

And then

Him.

The Reincarnator

Public Identity: Ethan Cross

Codename (Media-Given): Sky strider

A system-enhanced superhuman.

No alien heritage.

No divine bloodline.

No earned ascension.

Just a System Interface granting stat increases, abilities, and narrative conveniences.

Power Level (Untrained, System-Fed): ~4.2 million

He had submitted willingly to SHIELD as a fan of the government .

The idiot even volunteered for the Hero Registration Act.

Also Shared future knowledge with Tony Stark to gain favor.

Played savior on camera

Manipulator in private.

Broko Observes

For four months, Broko became a shadow

He did not intervene.

He learned.

What He Saw

Sky strider never trained at all

He relied entirely on system-granted upgrades.

His combat style was sloppy like high-school brawl, raw output, zero refinement.

He leaked "future intel" selectively to gain influence.

Worse..

In private channels, Broko had listened to .

He discovered Derision toward civilians.

Contempt toward heroes who didn't "measure up."

Racist ideology masked as "genetic realism."

Broko felt no real anger.

Only disgust .

The Civil War...

The incident happened.

Collateral damage.

Public outrage.

Registration passed.

Sides were drawn.

Sky strider stood proudly beside SHIELD and posing, smiling, preaching "order."

He called it responsibility.

Broko called it cowardice.

Waiting

Broko waited through arrests.

Through battles.

Through friends turned enemies.

He watched Steve Rogers fracture.

Watched Tony Stark justify compromise.

Watched Sky strider grow louder, bolder, more smug, even letting his racist views show in small quantities.

Power increased by system reward alone.

Sky strider (Late Civil War): ~6.8 million

Still untrained.

Still untested.

Still unworthy peace of.... .

Broko's Decision neared

Near the war's end, as real heroes fell and ideals shattered, Broko finally moved.

Not openly.

Not yet.

He chose the moment when Sentinel Prime believed himself indispensable.

When he thought history itself had validated him.

Broko stepped out of the shadow of a broken city skyline.

And smiled.

You had every advantage.

And chose to stay weak
